Shiny hunting Legendary Pokemon has never been this good before; in previous games you would have to soft reset for most of them. Whereas now you have a chance at other shinies on top of hunting your respective legendary, with the incredible odds of 1/100 with the shiny charm.
This also creates value for the shinies that are hunted, considering that you can only save one legendary per playthrough and it requires a grinding component.
Shiny hunting through raids has been fun, and I still plan on completing my shiny living evolution Pokedex, but I am also happy to hunt down my favorite shiny Legendary Pokemon via Dynamax Adventure mode :)

despite what other people are saying, the shiny legends are rare. I’ve only gotten one using this so far. And if you want a rarer shiny Pokémon then play the older games and turn off and on the game 4,000 times lmao. Thanks for the video!

I believe it’s been confirmed or something that for all the pokémon there it’s 1/100 with shiny charm.
I’d rather take 1/100 (or 1/300 without shiny charm) than SRing 4000 times. But to each their own.

Soft resetting works for the legendaries in Crown Tundra. Regirock for example, although it’s quicker killing it and retracing the pattern. But in the normal game the legendaries and your starter are shiny locked. Along with the pokemon you get as gifts.

step 1: catch all 400 pokemon, it doesnt matter if you cant find the version exclusives
step 2: get shiny charm
step 3: cry because you still can't find any shinies
Save the routes that are exclusive to the OTHER VERSION if you're shiny hunting! That way you can play the route again over and over if you keep saving it.

1/25 is great odds when you catch all 4, but it takes 15 minutes to roll those odds once, so it can be surprisingly difficult to find shinies
Yeah, I've run through it about 3-4 times and found no shinies, but I did get a hidden ability blaziken.
I've been hunting since july and i only got a heatmor shiny( after 1 week of pure lucky with tapu koko and latios shiny)

I have shiny charm my brother and I each got 2 shinies over 4 games. We alternated games getting a shiny lol hitmonchan, glalie, flygon, and clefairy. My brother doesn’t have shiny charm either but he also got 2 shinies.
Plus the cpus are so fucking brain dead you won’t even beat the legendary half the time

If you create a second profile you can hunt them on that profile. Austin John Plays made a video on it

Funny story, my very first Dynamax Adventure resulted in a shiny Suicune that was very close to having perfect IVs. Haven't gotten a darn thing since then though lol.
I was shiny hunting rayquaza in dusk balls (cause it looks cool) and I wasn't paying attention and I pressed B on saving the location so now I have to find it again =)
ik this is very late but u could have just reset ur game and u can choose to find it again
I like doing this method just to get shinies that you would normaly need to trade to evolve like trevenant and for legends

I’ve gotten 3 shiny legendaries from the Lair so far (Mesprit, Tapu Fini, and Pheromosa), along with ~15 other shines. I even think this shiny method is very similar to the wormholes in USUM.

Shiny Pheromosa was my first Shiny from doing this, I'm currently after Shiny Tapu Fini right now and unintentionally got a Shiny Rayquaza, But I got afew less other Shinies.

I'm just rewatching old dynamax adventure videos to relive the journey of hunting my shiny suicune, got it two days ago after 56 days, 1,025 adventures, 406 hours, and 41 phases. But honnestly it was worth it

I'm about 600 eggs in between Eevee and Riolu with Masuda Method & Shiny Charm. Crazy how luck based it still is
I was just breeding bronzong for competitive trick room sets and I got a shiny on the 12th egg... Not what I wanted, but I'll take it!
That was also my first shiny, I had a Masuda method going when I was trying for scorbunny for competitive too, but that time it was whichever happened first. Competitive IVs or shiny. I ended up with a 6 IV scorbunny with high jump kick and sucker punch lol
So I just made a little discovery that is useful for if you are either shiny hunting with AI partners, or if you want a shiny non-legendary that spawns in the den. If you quit out of the game at any point during the dynamax adventure and que up again, you'll see the exact same rental Pokemon, the AI partners will make the same choices, and the pokemon you can battle will all be the same. However, it will re-roll IV's and nature. It'll also reroll shiny status. I just caught a shiny Malmar while testing this.
So if your rental choices are so good that even an AI team can speedrun the adventure, or you see a non-legendary you want the shiny of, you can quit out if you don't get the shiny. Just be mindful there is eventually a penalty and you have to spend ore to keep going.
How many shinies did you get using this method?
Does this apply also on the legendary pokemon on that dynamax adventure?
@@chrisMikel645 I've gotten a few shinies. This doesn't boost the rate, just makes the adventure more consistent, because the AI likes to AI. And yes, this applies to the legendary of that run. I have a shiny Mewtwo and Ho-Oh to prove it :)
It is true you can not Catch more than one legendary Pokémon but if you transfer your legendary’s from a different game and then you’re technically be able to have two legendary’s of the same species

While I understand people adding them up (1/100 turns into 4/100, which then turns into 1/25) ... it's wrong... with the shiny charm, it's 1% chance for all pokemon caught

No, you can always make a new Nintendo account and play through the first hour until you get to the train station, travel to the crown tundra and you can begin hunting within an hour

I’ve been doing solo raids in the Max Lair for quite some time now. Fortunately, I came to my senses and started to invite others recently. At that time I had obtained a ✨Zygarde in less than 24 hrs and I am so proud of it and myself!
Wow! Shiny Zygarde is so difficult to get! Such a difficult boss to go through multiple times
@@LuckyBunz Yeah, it is. However, I was able to prevent it from going into its 100% form. That was the easiest victory I pulled on Zygarde and that’s when I got the shiny.😁

Version exclusives are actually not version exclusive if you’re online, I play sword and I’ve found zekrom and kyogre

My tip for people shiny hunting is to keep your expectations low so that it's better when you get a shiny before that point.
One thing is always true with shiny hunting - as long as you don't cancel the hunt, you'll get the shiny eventually.
With this method I have got a. Shiny Azelf after 2 weeks 2 weeks that was the only raid I have been doing

My first adventure (story mode) I got a shiny Sigyliph (I think you spell it that way).
Now, I’m hunting Ho-Oh, Rayquaza and Zygarde. Which one is the easiest to beat? (I’m doing Ho-Oh bc of this).
I'm not sure, you should look up their weakness'
For example, I picked Moltres to hunt because I knew we could take it out fast with Rock type moves, since it takes super effective damage as both a Fire & Flying type.
Do NOT hunt zygarde, he is the hardest fight in the game.

@@LuckyBunz Ho-Oh is the easiest bc of his low defense and being weak to rock, water etc...
Zygarde is obviously the hardest of the three bc when you get him 1/2 hp he recovers 1/3 and hits HARD
So I think I’m going for Rayquaza bc there are lots of fairy types in the adventures (like a LOT) and fairy types don’t die 1 shot from him and can heal.

Dynamax adventures are like opening a Pokémon card pack you start with the weak Pokémon then you go to the legendary and it might be shiny like in Pokémon cards the rare Pokémon is always in the back.

Odds are actually 1/28 with the charm altogether. Not 1/25. You can roll same numbers each time so your math is wrong

@@LuckyBunz 1/100 odds right. But tit roll it 4 seperate times. And since technically you need to roll the number 23. You might roll 22 16 83 22. And since your able to re roll the same number like that you can’t technically simplify your odds using fractions.

I heard that if you choose to catch a legend exclusive from another game, lets say Dialga. That because you have that one you won't be able to catch a Palkia even if your game is pokemon Shield. Is this true? Can you only get to hunt one or the other?

Hey I’m just wondering, do we need to beat the DLC to unlock the shiny method or is it available from the start? I’ve done over 100 adventures with the charm and I have yet to get a shiny.

Nope, you don't need to beat the DLC. It all comes down to RNG, very possible to go over odds.
Had someone comment that they have gotten 4 shinies in about 1/29 runs. Not everyone will have the same experience, just gotta keep persevering if you really want it

I absolutely hate the AI in this game. What sucks is that I can't use online (can't afford the paywall.) and are stuck with them. Making the harder legends nearly impossible. Ripperoni
I'd hardly call online a paywall, the feature can be used both offline and online. Plus the AI aren't actually that terrible in Dynamax Adventures, you clear runs much faster in all honesty
I reset my game yesterday and speedran to get the shiny charm lol. had a friend send me 396 pokemon, as I finished the game in 9 hours with 4 pokemon. time to get all my legendaries
I caught my lengendaries without thinking wish could go back and do it all over again :(
Good news is, you can. If you don't mind making a second profile and running through the story again. You can shiny hunt on the second profile and then transfer them over through home.
How you do that is you open home with your main profile and then switch to your second profile within home itself. That profile get take pokemon from home or drop them in, meaning you can dump any shinies into home for your main. This also means you can get both urshifu forms and both calyrex combinations on your main.

My first legendary shiny was Virizion one of the sword of justice had to battle it 196 times to get the shiny version.
It is not a 1-in-25 odds at the end. Ahhhhhhh this isn't how probabilities work. 😭 each individual is 1-in-100, it doesn't stack
I never said 1/25 odds, I said 1/25 chance to get a shiny, assuming you caught all 4 Pokemon. I get where you are coming from though.
Probability of at least one success is
= 1 - (probability of no success)
= 1 - ((1-1/100)^4)
= 1 - (0.99^4)
= 1 - (0.960596)
= 0.03940339
= 3.94%
1/25.38 = 3.94%
1/25 = 4%

Idk if that chart of legendaries is accurate as far as version exclusives go. I have sword and have seen both Lugia and Ho-oh, as well as Yveltal, Zekrom, and Kyogre. Maybe the party leader was on a copy of shield for those? But if it worked like that why even bother with version exclusives?

If you raid with someone who has the opposite version, it still allows you to save the Legendary on your list afterwards. Most likely the reason you were able to get Lugia and Ho-Oh

i always battle the CPU's because I cant be bothered to play with real people and it is so annoying when they die over and over again because there just not smart! I remember being so close to defeating Mewtwo only for one of the CPU's to die.

The thing is that actually, Legendaries aren't exclusives, just rarest in the other game. Ik what i say bcs i found Kyogre after maybe 2h of hunt (i was looking after him tbh) and i found it, alone. Guess what ? I have sword ! And Kyogre is said to be shield exclusive ! So yea.. I think the legends aren't exclusive to X version of the game :D
I have been through a little over a 100 dynamax adventures (which is roughly 400 pokemon caught) and I have not received a single shiny. 😭 I have the shiny charm, I'm just unlucky. My girlfriend on the other hand got 4 shiny pokemon out within 5 dynamax adventures. *sigh* I'm going to end up being the one who gets all my shinies at once and will only be able to keep one. 😩

To all who read this who plans on shiny hunt legendaries. DO NOT SHINY HUNT ZYGARDE. Zygarde is the hardest legendary to beat in the max lair. So basically your odds for a shiny zygarde is basically none
