You ain't kidding there, I'm just glad it happened on video luckily. This actually happened 2 times, I think I say it in the video, so I'm going to whip up another video about the first time lol, we will call that one False Hope LOL
Yes no doubt, I think it would be good for the longevity of the saw any, I'm sure someone has them for sale. But crap happens sometimes, gotta take the good with the bad.
@@dubbssawshop mine does that too. I might swap the coil with my Redmax to see if that is the cause. I already tried the easy swap; spark plug wasn't it.
@@dubbssawshop that makes sense! Charles didn't have the popping on Doug's Neotec, but he was running his oem husky carb on it. So you're saying putting a walbro rebuild kit into the Neotec carb was the fix for yours? That is good, those oem husky carbs are big $
@@dubbssawshop Charls ported 543 just blew up too ... I think I'll just stay with the muffler mod and not port mine, and keep the rpm's down ... heh heh.
Bummer! That was a fun video though. I think the metal on the china clone saws is a little softer. I mean, echo has those little spacers too, and they never break. Charles real 543 just blew up too, so don't feel too bad. He just got another neo though, to port.
I'm so sorry everyone! I was wrong. Wrong saw ... Charles 543 is not blown up. Just watched an update, and I mistakenly started something that isn't true. So sorry ... and I stand corrected. Thanks everyone for being understanding of my poor broken brain ... heh heh ...
That isn't the first one of those that's happened to. Still sucks nonetheless, happened to me twice on a stihl recently. Your cases look good compared to mine😆
I guess it happens, we can control what we can and the rest is up to the saw gods!!! But we can rebuild and try it again. 👍🏻 and yea I herd they caused a few failures here and there. I got a hot lead on a set of oem cases tho 😃
Yes they are metal, they are spacers, the piston is way wider than the crank end, so these take up the slop. I've herd they were heat treated and got to brittle, I do believe they have fixed the issue with them tho. My new one is still rocking. OEM are also available from Husq for the 543xp.
@@dubbssawshop I just bought a 843 , it runs plenty strong for me as a work saw I was just going to leave that one alone, I love the saw , i was thinking about buying another , a 543 XP pop up piston , OEM thrust washers and a OEM wrist pin bearing, port it a little , put on a walbro carb and make a pipe for it just to play around with , i don't know about the pop up piston as the one I have seems to have good compression , I don't want to be stuck to using 120 octane race fuel , I want more power though lol 🤣🤣🤣 , I bought the saw because of your vids even after I saw you blew it up a few times lol , love the vids , keep em making shavings .

True that!!!! Good note is now we know ow what the complete inside looks like. 👍🏻

Oh man , sorry to see that. Thanks for sharing the good and the bad. Makes me want to find an oem set of thrust washers for mine.

They're down to $105, a replacement slug & jug $16. So $121 with a spare to grind on.
It sounded like the ignition was breaking down slightly.
Yea something is def off with it, idk if it's ignition or carb. Carb tuning is bit wonky too for sure.

Those thrust washers are know for that in the Neo Tec that’s why mr brisco used the OEM ones
