- Decided to give a kinetic splitter a try and man I was not disappointed to say the least. Did have the first mishap with the belts but whatever stuff happens. We'll be testing out the Detail K2 40 ton kinetic log splitter. Awesome machine plenty of power any questions leave them in the comments. Ill leave the link to this splitter below. Thanks for watching and I'll catch you on the next one.
Detail K2 Splitter can be found here and purchasable at Home Depot at the time of this posting:

Just came across this video, wow is that DK 2 fast. Thanks for sharing this 🙌
Seems to be very fast. I’m not sure that I would trust anyone else on the lever with that much speed so close to my nose pickers! Be very careful- I know that we’re all trained professionals but crap 💩 on a cracker can happen really fast!
💩 on a cracker can……hahaha!
I have a kinetic super split HD. It's crazy how fast it is compared to hydraulic. It really takes 3 or 4 people to maximize production. 1 operating splitter, one bringing rounds up and one or two stacking
When working with a Kinetic Log Splitter like this, it is imperative that only one person work with it for safety reasons.
pish posh grab that lever and lets get something actually done 🤑🤑🤑
I'm glad this is the main topic in comments. The splitter is a 1 person operation, only one second one time. "😮I thought you were ready " this is also painful to watch just because there's 2 people producing maybe half of what 2 people should be doing in this setting
@@jarrohleddy4038 you come try it and smaller splits will reduce the production. We ain’t making boiler wood. We make $600 quality cords my man not $250 cords 😂 🤡 move on to the next firewood channel troll. I’ve seen your splits on Facebook. You should be ashamed at the quality. 10”-18” cuts with hunks of wood as “split” no quality control and whatsoever. I guess when it takes you 20 minutes to do a cord because your logs are split in half only it’s easy to keep your prices at $500 for 2 cords 😂. You have much to learn grasshopper.
Nice splitter definitely need to watch the digits though especially with someone else operating the handle. Split on fellas split on.
Hey man good to hear from you. You hometown acres and Ohio wood burner are the reasons I started a RUclips channel. Keep that cash cow rugged made going. 🤘
That’s a feckin super job, fast
That is a fast splitter . I hope it doesn’t keep shredding the belts !!
Love to see that mechanism on a vertical splitter.
You make me nervous. I have a super splitter. Maybe try one guy keeping wood on the table and throwing split wood in truck, the other guy would position wood to be split and pull handle.
That splitter is supposed to be a one man operation
So is every other one in existence but hey who reads the manual anyways right 😆😴
Wonder why someone hit someone's finger....sorry dude did it getcha
Nice video. I was looking at these before I bought my super split last year. I’m curious how it holds up. I know some of the copies had issues. I’ve got 45 hrs on mine, I added a cheap hour meter to the ignition coil to help w/ maintenance. Split around 12-13 cords with it. No issues so far. It’s handled knotty oak, maple, cherry, black walnut, and black birch with no issues. One difference I can see is there is less action in the operating handle. Hope the belt issues is a fluke for you. Occasionally I’ve had a piece of kindling break off and get stuck under the ram. Had to loosen the bolts holding it to the beam to get enough clearance to remove it. But I’m really happy w/ it. Looking to see more videos of yours. Merry Christmas!
Thanks for watching and that video was filmed a little bit ago. I ordered name brand cross referenced belts and haven’t had a problem since. Have the hour meter sitting in the package waiting to go on it. Probably have 8-10 cords through it so far. Should have bought one sooner. Like you said I was always skeptical of the power for knots but haven’t had any issues yet. Only thing I dont like is the ram stays like 6ish inches away from the wedge so splitting elm or string stuff is a little bit of a hassle because it doesn’t cut all the way so you have to flip it around and resplit
@@allaboutoutdoors5083 nice. Glad the belts issue is behind you. Mine comes pretty close to the wedge. Occasionally I’ll have to flip it and split again, but it’s usually the really big pieces where only part of it is pushed through the wedge.
How’s the new machine holding up? That’s fast!
100% someone gonna lose a finger here!
🤔 we’ll think about it
Still working great?
Hey awesome video! Question how long does it take you to split and stack a cord of wood by yourself with the Kinetic splitter?
Also now that you have some hours on the machine how’s it holding up?
Never really timed it. Way less time than a hydro splitter though. 14 sec cycle time vs 1.5 seconds each spit. Kinetics are definitely underrated for what they are. If your like me and always have a helper the time you save using the kinetic over the hydro kinda pays for the labor itself for the helper. Good so far. The bearing on the tensioner pulley for the belt went bad. Had it replaced within the same week. To my surprise parts were pretty easy to get. Only thing I’ve had to do mechanically on it. I love it and wish I would have bought it over my hydro one first
@@allaboutoutdoors5083 good to know, thanks!
Take it easy on the lever
She likes it rough 👍🏻
You make running that handle look like more work than splitting with a maul.
It springs forward and back making it seem like your pushing it harder than you are. I usually just slap it forward and release my hand as it reaches the forward position and let it return on its own.
One guy working hard other guy work in the office
Everybody has a role to play 😝 some just harder than others. I give him permission he’s 61 so 🤷♂️
When you bungie the safety to open position you'll get to own only nine digits or maybe just be flat out one handed for life
never never use 2 people using these machines , never ever ,, shit happens too fast ...
Fingers will be lost.
Totally agree. Not worth an accident. Rather have my fingers or hand vs speed
Kindling, w/ 40t kinetic. Partner on the cycle lever, no eyesafety on either.
All you can do is joke about your (both's)
Future.
We all get to be a bumpersticker...
We’ll live life on the edge 😎

Look! Even eyesafety on your emogi!
" teachability, the gateway to WISDOM"
Not sure about the 40 ton rating, obviously the belts are the weak spot for tonnage, but man that's fast!
I’ll tell you, I was big time optimistic. I’d trade my hydraulic splitter for this one any day of the week. I’ve put some nasty stuff through it. The belts that came with it were absolute garbage. First 2 hours both shredded. I bough NAPA belts and have never had a problem since.
The belts have nothing to do with the tonnage. Know what you’re talking about before making I’ll-informed comments.
He was talking about slippage which would 100% decrease tonnage. So your telling me a properly tensioned belt will deliver the same amount of tonnage as a belt that is improperly tensioned and slipping or broken 😂
Nice splitter
What kind of price that one brings?
Got it on sale for $2400 ish and 3 year 0% interest finance on it not that I needed to finance but why not use someone sees money for free 😆 think it usually runs like $2800ish + tax
@@allaboutoutdoors5083 not bad at all. I like the 0 interest part for 3 years. I can never find deals like that.
What are you splitting kindling
Smaller = Moeee Monayyy
@@allaboutoutdoors5083yep!!!
There’s always someone who will push the issue. I know the instructions says to keep your hand free . Your technique is dangerous and you will be purified through pain.
Sounds good 👍🏼
Nice painted Chinese rubbish?
Really not bad at all tbh after replacing some bolts with grade 8 American ones I’ve had no problems so far with it at all.
