How does Jeff sound the same as he did 40 years ago? F-cking legend
Fact is millions more watching ELO on you tube having the time of our life along with Jeff and ELO.
That reference to Telephone Line is gold. Really brings back a great time of my life
And a few other references to their older music as well
@@zarrowthehorse I heard The way lifes meant to be/across the border fs
Ahhhhh Nostalgia, love it
This is one of the most self aware songs I've ever heard. Kind of like a gift back to the fans.
Well said!
Jeff IS the greatest of the WILBURYS
True, but at the same time he was always giving to the fans with every song he wrote
agree
GOD BLESS JEFF LYNNE AND THE ELO!!!
They mean a world to me!!!

✨✨✨❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨❤️❤️✨✨✨✨
How could you not have the time of your life at a Jeff Lynne’s ELO concert?! Seriously. It’s impossible. Like sneezing with your eyes open.
because he doesn't come to my country!!! (Japan)
OUCH!!! THANKS MAN!!! I Hope my Doberman shits my eyes out whole!
Because he doesn't came in Italy
@@ort4744
But he seems to like Japan somewhat, considering he released Japanese exclusive tracks for some reason.
Wishing (to be have been there)...
"Jeff we need a song to play over your Wembley montage"
Jeff: "Hold my sunglasses"
A Simody 😎
A Simody: LOL. Except he would never surrender them.
Jeff: *Takes off sunglasses*
Wait, that's illegal
hold my sunglasses 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

ELO will never die.
It sure won't
Shut up don’t jinx it !
Never!
In the year 2095, ELO will be on tour performing the entire Time album, Jeff Lynne playing every instrument
Well, Jeff talked about an IBM in the future.. The Time album is a really good answer...
The happiest people on Earth?

Let a 54 old drummer just shake your hand mate! 🤝🏻

Who can't have time "Time of Our Lives" with what Jeff Lynne has given us all these years? Any takers? 🤔
God, how is Jeff Lynne 50+ years into his career and still making great, fresh music like this? Only person I can think of still pumping out quality like this well into their career is Paul McCartney, and that’s not too shabby company to be in, is it? What a legend.
Big grin on my face when he threw in that “Telephone Line” bit.
yeah I thought that too! dam awesome
David Crosby
And Hall& Oates
McCartney has turned into a pussy. He will never be at the level of Lynne.
McCartney has sold himself as a unlikeable activist and a fruit for too long now with not much of a flair for music or artistry the way he used to compel people. Jeff Lynne is still and always has been the real deal, even since touching shoulders with and working alongside the likes of McCartney in his musical infancy and never ever became a pretentious dingleberry.
My ELO story about Wembley concert, I was in London that week, never knew about the ELO Wembley one night only concert. On a tube, riding to hotel at 11pm, a guy next to me was reading Evening Standard, London free paper, and over the page, huge ELO space ship in colour! And tomorrow's date! Oh! So I went to hotel, Ticketmaster was sold out, but for some reason Wembley web site had a ticket, at the very edge at the back. I got the ticket, went next night.. I imagine this is what religious experience must feel to believers.. it is impossible to describe this feeling at the concert. To see them LIVE.. my childhood fav band.. unreal. I still can't quite believe I was there. Thank you, Jeff Lynne and ELO! Greetings from Estonia.
I have few moments of that night at Wembley on my channel, especially Telephone Line. It had just got dark outside above the roof. The whole stadium was singing, never experienced anything like this. The Blu Ray of concert is fantastic, but to see it all from up above, from farthest seats, you have a bird eye view of the whole stadium, stadium bigger than my home town.. oh man!
Me and my (now) husband went too. He flew in from the US, I from Germany. My biggest goosebump moment was how the stadium shook to Wild West Hero. Such a night! I’ve always wanted to see a concert in Wembley, and that it ended up being one of my all time favorite people just made it perfect!
Jeff writes a song as an hommage to his lifelong fans. How great is that?
17 year old me took myself to Wembley Stadium that June night, sitting 3 rows from Jeff - I had the Time of My Life !
Amazing how a musical genius like Jeff appreciates his fans and writes a song about them..... Thank you Jeff! I hope you live forever! ❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶
By contrast to Noel Gallagher who hates his fans.
Yes very true Jeff is a very caring Genius a true loving LEGEND 💝
Great concept :)
Because he’s a humble Brummie, 😊💙👍
Jeff is gorgeous!!!
A real gentleman!!! A MASTER GENIOUS!!
The LOVE of my life!!!
HE WILL NEVER DIE!!!
We will go together to another Rockin World, one day!!
And the Big Reunion with all the Rockers that left before of us, will be there, waiting!!!!

imagine having a show so good you write a song about it
4 years later and I am only hearing this song now! Positive: The internet made this happen / Negative: It took 4yrs as opposed to weeks if this was blasted more on the FM radio! I'm teasing of course, I'm really happy to stumble upon this song. I was doing research on video game ranking systems and this song ironically popped up in my search. Upon clicking, I am NOT disappointed. In fact, I've had it on repeat while I continue to work =). God Bless and Thank You!
Jeff Lynne is still young! It's only a pity that there are as few string arrangements in his music as before
1:35 I love the "Telephone Line" reference!
are we not gonna talk about how the drummer is the happiest guy in the fricken world
Huge fan just lost my daddy 2 weeks ago yesterday. Totally unexpected. I am 49 years and he was 73. Oh the hurt on this young man. Me and my daddy are huge LSU Fans I remember listening to Jeff and Elo hold on tight, telephone all are perfect masterpieces. On the way to the game in Baton Rouge. I know he is in a better place, his spirit. These songs will always remind me of this time of year at the Arklamiss fair to come through. Monroe ,La. Miss you old man.
Love and peace,
Michael Garrison sorry to read about your Dad. I know what you’re going through and it’s rough. Lost my Dad 15 yrs ago...
Good Luck to LSU and Joe in the Championship Game, from a Buckeye fan.
@@larryborders3756 Thank you Larry. It means alot when someone like Yousef would take the time to say something so respectful. Again much appreciated.
Michael Garrison, I’m glad to bud. I won’t tell you it gets easier with time...it doesn’t. But, you learn to look back and appreciate all those times together in a way you never did when they were with us. God Bless
Yay it's 2024 and he's back!!! Good onya Jeff 🤩 now come to Australia 🇦🇺 pretty please 🙏
One of the oldest-remaining greats of music. He has touched shoulders with and helped the successes of The Beatles in their infancy, was one of the great Traveling Wilburys and inspired many more including myself. We are immensely lucky today to still have Jeff Lynne- a pioneer, a gent, and a true musician that never cared for the fame or fortune and let it consume him, only making great music and keeping the musical will of those who inspired him alive.
RIP Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty and all the other fallen who helped make Jeff Lynne, were also inspired by him and worked alongside him.
Well said, mate.! Let's celebrate Jeff Lynne's ELO still touring at 72.
More than 50 years later, Jeff Lynne still selling out all his Tours, filling out Stadiums Arenas and Festivals. Jeff Lynne's ELO was called "The best live Classic Rock Band in the world still Touring"...From Forbes Magazine Summer of 2019.
Jeff.. love to go to London. Just found out I'm 65% British. I've been a fan since the 70s, when I was in the United States Marine Corps.✌🇺🇸
As a Beatles fan i agree, Jeff Lynne is the best ever, he writes and sings every song, he plays every instrument and produces all his material. He also wrote and produced so many other Legends in this world plus he is a master arranger. He is also the most versatile musician we have ever heard. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!!!
imagine if Jeff Lynne and Paul McCartney got together and created an album, what a treasure that would be.
@@kurtmorris454 Well, Jeff Lynne did just that very thing with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison with pretty good results I might add. I cannot imagine any different results if Jeff Lynne and Paul McCartney collaborated on an album. Jeff Lynne is truly something very special.
@@MHB48615 well It would probably be a lot like the song Willow that McCartney and Jeff Lynne did together. I wish they'd give song credits as to who did each song with the Traveling Wilburies.
Jeff, mate, I've been asking you to come to New Zealand for weeks now. If you don't come, you'll force me to get on a plane (when this dratted China virus is done) and fly to Britain to see you in concert!! But see you I will. Still one of the best song writers in the world, alongside Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney. God bless you, Jeff, for all the joy you have given us, mate!!
I saw ELO back in the 70's, and again saw JLELO at Radio City and Madison Square Garden. I don't think Jeff fully understood how many lives his music impacted. He set out to be a continuation of The Beatles. For me at least, he did that. I love that he wrote a song about us, the fans.
Went down to Londontown
To play our music at the football ground
"I can't believe this is going down, " I said to my friend Phil
60, 000 rockin' out
And singing loud I had to shout
And best of all, they seemed so happy just being there
Oh, what a time we had that night
We had the time of our life
Oh, what a dream we had that night
We had the time of our life
(We had the, we had the, we had the)
We had the time of our life
As we played on, it came to me
This could be the best night I've ever seen
The whole of Wembley singing along to every little song
60, 000 mobile phones
Were shining in the dark of night
Waving and weaving and boy, did they shine
When we struck up with "Telephone Line" (Oh, telephone line)
We had that night, we had the time of our life
Oh, what a dream we had that night
We had the time of our life
(We had the, we had the, we had the)
We had the time of our life
Oh, what a time we had that night
We had the time of our life
Oh, what a dream we had that night
We had the time of our life
(We had the, we had the, we had the)
We had the time of our life
We had the time of our life
Time of our life
Post Script: this is mostly for me or anyone else who's looking for the lyrics to another masterpiece by Jeff Lynne.
Thank you so much for these lyrics!!!
Thanks....so ..much...much....much...👍♥️👍
The throwback to Telephone Line made my day.
This is a true event and have proof. For me as it turned out it really was Wembley or bust the time of my life,. After waiting decades for the opportunity to see ELO live , that when they started up on the very first song I was so excited that I had a massive heart attack!. I was so happy and excited that i carried on singing and dancing through the heart attack. and did so for the rest of the concert. The morning after the concert ( i was still on a massive buzz from the concert ) I rang the nhs 111 help line and was told to go to A & E. So i did, where they did some test's then told me I was now a patient and can't leave then I was operated on at Southampton university hospital two weeks later , under going a double heart valve transplant and a double heart bypass. and now i have a song to remind me of the fact that Jeff can do miracles. from what my doctors told me and where i was and who it was, that it was the music that kept me alive as i had so much adrenaline pumping through me in excitement and pure joy and kept on going until the following day . so i can truly say it was the time of my life! . Thank you Jeff
This truly was the Time Of Your Life sounds like you recovered just fine.
Great story! Thanks for sharing!
The drummer always seems to be enjoying his job very much.
We had the time of our life! 😀🖐🏻

This song should be ending theme for the movie. If so I’ll be happy with tears.
A undisputed highlight off the From Out Of Nowhere album!
100 % Pure Jeff
"Oh telephone line..."
I cried. I wish I could have been there.
I was there, I also cried, when he walked out on stage!
2:12 - Jeff: "That's right, I'm back". His face says it all.
Best song on the album I think
How could anyone dislike?!?!? What a song!!!!!!! Love the reference to Telephone Line and The Way Life’s Meant To Be
Whenever I listen to ELO I feel like hugging someone - even a stranger! The world needs more ELO and Jeff Lynne! Better than antidepressants!
I haven’t heard this song before but it is so awesome. They are better and bigger than before. Can’t believe Jeff Lynne is 71. Years old.He don’t look it. 😎

1:38 Holy god, got goosebumps on my whole body.
ELO is one of the most important Bands, because my father (now 59 y.o) listened to them when he was old like me (26) and also when he was younger.
All their songs remind me when we went shopping, while I was playing pokemon in the car, was bored about shopping the whole day.
"Meeeh, turn off the old music".
Now, 20 years later I'm like:
OH YES, THAT'S MY CHILDHOOD GOD DAMMIT!
Love to my parents for showing me this band.
Jeff is definitely BACK! Great how he stayed true to the ELO sound through the years.
Karin Vorster how is this staying true to the Electric Light Orchestra sound it’s missing Violins ,cellos and a choir !
Great tune! Sadly, we have 27 individuals, who just don’t get it.
Jeff Lynne- king of incredible pop hooks.
Jeff Lynne is the best overall Musician ever! He is among the Top 3 Producers ever. Fantastic Songwriters, composer and arranger. Plus he is such a humble and kind man! Jeff Lynne's ELO please Tour in 2021-2022!
When you have seen the greatest bands in concert, you realize in 2019 that Jeff Lynne's ELO is really on top for their sound, vocals and musicians. Please tour in 2020.
This song just makes me tear up a bit. This is such an adorable tribute to Jeff's incredible music and to his fans over the years. Well done Mr. Jeff Lynne's ELO, you did it again!
This song is adorable.
This world needs ELO and Jeff Lynne's fantastic music more than ever!
ELO still hasn’t lost that unique sound. It sounds fresh even to this day.
not many phones all just enjoying the moment!
Love the feeling of ELO!
Jeff is a born hitmaker.
Jeff Lynne is the very best!!! ❤
Jeff Ringo and the Who all getting retrospective. Bless them.
I had the time of my life at the last Munich Concert, 38 years after I saw ELO for the first time at the age of 13. 2 hours of nothing but smiling faces!! :-)
Jeff said in a radio interview recently he'd be touring the US first.
The way Jeff plays guitar looks so effortless
The best band of all time. Period. Jeff is a genius and long overdue a knighthood. In fact, get him in the House of Lords!
ELO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR MUSIC. I've been listening to your songs for 2 years and a half. I like songs from the '60's, but yours, have change me, the letters of your songs i like the secret messages on it. listen to your songs makes me happy, so much. I would like to go to one of your concerts, my favourite is Mr Blue Sky. And now, you have just gave my birthday present, because today, October 25 it's my 19 birthday, and thank you for the new song Time Of Our Life. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! AND PLEASE, IF YOU COULD, IT WOULD BE AWESOME THAT YOU COULD COME BACK TO MY COUNTRY CHILE. WILL ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR SONGS. SHARE HAPPINESS ELO!!!!!!
Give it ten million views. Calling the network.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Jeff!
I have tears in my eyes, i am listening this song for the first time, we can't have new beatles songs anymore but we can have new elo's songs, i am a french 55 years old guy, listening to this for the first time gives some feelings that i used to have in the seventies when i started to buy some beatles recors and listening to them for the first time magical
They sound just like they did back in the 70's. I love this.
It sounds like 'Jeff Lynne circa 1982'. And ever since. The trouble started when Jeff discovered the concept of owning a home studio. As someone else in this comment thread has already noted, his sound hasn't moved on from 'Secret Messages'. This is 'solo Jeff', not ELO.
The G.O.A.T. !!!!!! Greatest Of All Time !!!!!!
That entire new CD is totally awesome .. thanks Jeff et al
Jeffrey...boy...yeahhhh...you enjoyed, 'we' enjoyed!
Jeff Lynne is a pop master. This song I think is one of his masterpieces. Never get tired. Never gets old. Typical classic Jeff Lynne. He has done it yet again. He is truly amazing.
This is such a great song. It may be a typical sounding Lynne tune, but the content is what makes it great. After the incredible career Jeff Lynne has had, he writes a love song about a show in front of 60k people in the futbol ground Wembley stadium like he was a child in awe of what just happened. What a humble lad he is. Jeff, please tour again in 2020.
Jeff clearly debunks the tenacious myth that the peak of your life is in your twenties and thirties. This may be true physically, but youth is much more a mindset than a physical condition.
This is beyond amazing!! I own all ELO's albums & so much more. I'm so happy that I was a teenager in the 1970's to experience ELO!! The one drawback..I still live in Idaho so never had a chance in hell to see them LIVE!! I thank God on a daily basis for the invention of the internet & RUclips!! ELO is still #1 in my book!!!
insane he sounds exactly like he did all those years ago
My rare Jeff, I will advertise you on TikTok🤗thank you soooo much🙏❤️
Some facts about Jeff Lynne (ELO)...First, he is a very humble man, simply because this Music Genius is not interested in fame, the limelight, and money, he just loves to create great music. Jeff Lynne is one of the most versatile musicians ever, this is why he is considered by his peers to be among the greatest. He didn't stick to one style of music because, after decades, it gets boring. Jeff has done progressive Rock, Symphonic Rock - Pop, New wave, and Disco.
Everything he does turns to gold. He even flirted with Country music. From 1972 to 1986 (During 14 years) Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world... 51 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas, festivals and Stadiums. During Jeff Lynne's ELO 2019 Tour, many reviews agreed in saying they are the best live Classic Rock Band in the world still touring and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius( From Forbes Magazine and the Washington Post).
ELO is in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Songwriter award ( ASCAP ) in 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. In October of 2020, Jeff Lynne has been made an officer of The Order Of The British Empire for his extraordinary contribution to music. He previously has received three Ivor Novello Awards, which celebrate songwriters and composers, including the award for outstanding services to British music.
He created the best Super Group of all time with his best friend George Harrison, The Traveling Wilburys. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Jeff Lynne has written and produced many hit songs for music legends like George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Del Shannon, the Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and so many others...In June 2023 Jeff Lynne was inducted in The Songwriters Hall Of Fame ❤👍💯
