We watch Amtrak’s westbound Empire Builder, train number 7, undergo a transformation at Spokane, Washington on the morning of Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
We see the lead Siemens Charger d-e locomotive cut off and switch onto another track. It will depart Spokane with the Portland, Oregon section of the Empire Builder, as Amtrak train number 27. This leaves number 7 with one Siemens Charger locomotive and one General Electric P42DC locomotive.
We end the video as we (number 7) get the highball to depart for Seattle, Washington.

This is never seen during daylight hour’s. This Westbound train must have been a couple of hours behind schedule. Small delay causes good luck to draw the card.
