I Think Cars Is A Dystopian Hellscape

- The Cars franchise is a behemoth that nobody could have predicted. 3 movies, spin offs, tv shows, endless toys. It’s had a major impact on many childhoods. Not mine personally, but I still enjoy it nonetheless. I started thinking about the movie recently, which is a dangerous sign I’ll admit as I begin to slowly unravel at the concept of its society. Cars just makes ZERO sense. In fact, it not only boggles the mind, but the answers I could come up with were truly frightening. I hope however that my descent into madness is entertaining. Enjoy.
If I remember correctly, a character in planes said that tractors, specifically the ones in India, are made from recycled parts from other cars and planes. I think it had something to do with real world Indian beliefs and make it as an aligory to something. I don’t know, but it’s the best explanation that I got
Cars 2. Is not the worst Pixar film ever made. Pixar when they make their movies and especially their sequels have a lot of respect for not just the film itself that had come before but also the production of the film and everyone who was involved with that film’s production. And when coming up with Cars 2, Director John Lasseter knew it couldn’t have the same feeling as the first film. Because two of the key critical people who were a part of the first film passed away, in Joe Ranft and Paul Newman. Meaning that the character of Doc and the feeling of the first film couldn’t be repeated. And to try to replicate it to them would be a complete disgrace to the hard work that Joe and Paul put into the film. And they made Mater the main character because they wanted to be able to give Joe the opportunity to have his own movie. Because the whole creation of the character of Mater was Joe’s idea and he did the initial voice of him before Larry The Cable Guy was brought in. They respect what Joe did and wanted him to have one last time to shine in a movie before they could finally let go of him.
Ngl, that’s actually so sweet and understandable as well. Also, what would you consider IS the worst Pixar film? (I would assume you would say something like Lightyear or The Good Dinosaur or Brave)
I absolutely love Cars 2. Me and my brother used to watch it all the time when we were kids.
Cars 2 is not as bad the most people say but I think this movie is fun and underrated to watch I watch this movie my childhood
@@Sqweezr10-27 I don’t think there is a worst film that Pixar has in its collection. I have my MOST FAVOURITE FILM of theirs which is Cars 1 and Cars 2 (I can’t decide which one I love more) and my LEAST FAVOURITE film which is either Finding Nemo or Soul. Primarily due to them scaring me too bits and pieces and giving me nightmares as well.
@@ravastarkskywalkermcqueen95 Oh, ngl, me too, it’s the same with me for the most part that I can’t decide what’s the worst one because I like all of them.
Here’s what I think:
The Cars series as well as the Planes movie, is set years after the events of Shed 17 and Project G-1, the biofused engines went at war with the humans until there was none left. Most humans had either died or were biofused into vehicles, Sir Topham Hatt expanded his biofusion business until they all turned against him, and he either died of old age or was killed by the rebellion. I believe after the third instalment in the Shed 17 trilogy, the remaining humans were biofused into cars, planes, and other vehicles that weren’t trains. The exoskeleton would be inserted within the car, the mechanic fused with human organs…the biofused engines decided to leave, and what remained was the result of every single biofused human in existence
I think the most glaring question that you neglected to mention would be "why do the have tongues?!" They evidently have some organic components to them that potentially can't be replaced, but why?
I will always believe that after the Humans left the Earth on the Star Liner ships as seen in the movie Wall-E, the Cars came to life and took on the personality of the humans who drove them similar to how Toys came to life. There was an official book that showed the interior of the cars from the movie and it even showed some weird flesh thing inside Lighting McQueen’s front hood, which means that the cars must be some sort of creature that simply uses the vehicles humans left behind as their shell and they die if said shell is removed.
The question that has been on my mind since Planes came out in 2013: If cars, planes, boats, trains, and other MOTOR VEHICLES are sentient in this world, then shouldn't bicycles, hot air balloons, and other non-motorized vehicles sentient in the world as well? I mean, they don't have windshields, but it's a question that's been on my mind since 2013. Are those in the world of Cars, or do they have their own little universe separate from the Cars world? Just a thought.
9:05 The same reason as in real life... _Money._ Like yeah, they have the technology to do all sorts of things to prolong life, but that doesn't mean people can afford it. I imagine surgery would be taxing on them too, just like how humans and real life can't just replace their entire bodies without health issues popping up.
6:45 in cars 3 the yellow care said she wanted to be like lightning McQueen when she was a kid, but her parents told her to dream small or not at all
It sucks that Cars 3 didn’t get the love it deserves, because in my opinion, it’s my favorite Pixar film.
Cars 3 is a really good film
@ Facts. 👏👏
Cars 3 is my favorite Pixar film ever the best movie ever
Its not just you... There seems to be an entire sub-genre of RUclips videos where people talk about how bizarre the Cars world is.
Yesh the first one was always the best. I didn’t understand the hate for the 2nd until I got older & the third I was over the franchise. But yeah the franchise of cars to know how the world works is mind blowing & makes you question a lot of
The future caused by Musk's foolery 😂
Funny, the only anthro-car cartoon I recall that actually went to the trouble of explaining anything about how living cars worked was Tayo The Little Bus, whereupon in episode 9 it's established that the vehicles are AI-controlled and that they can die of old age, with the character debuting in said episode having a reused "Brain Chip" that originally belonged to a recently deceased bus.
I’m pretty sure cars have to breath oxygen as well, because in Cars 2 when Finn jumps off the oil rig into the ocean, he puts on like a scuba mask so he can breath under water.
4:50 SP’s could do a really good Mr Bigwell impression 😂👍
Besie isn't sentient because it doesn't have eyes.As the saying goes, the eyes are the window to the soul.
I do agree with how anything makes any sense in this universe, but god damn it I still to this day love the cars movies, well maybe not the second one.
Since there are corporate entities in the Cars universe, there must be CEOs and shareholders who decide which car models are worth supporting based on profitability. Doesn't make sense to keep supporting a car model if they don't help in making a return on profit. For McQueen, other car companies developed new cars to out compete him.The car company that made McQueen thought it was more profitable to put funds into R&D so they don't fall behind technologically than to continue to upgrade an older model.Eventually, they will stop making parts for him altogether when he looses relevance.
Who runs these car companies? Cars running car factories to build more cars is one possibility, but that's a bit dystopian, I think. It'd be akin to humans constructing a lab or factory and using it to create humans.
@TheDr502 I mean IVF clinics exist. Probably multiple competing I.A. programs?
I think the Pixar staff did adress at one point that the universe of Cars is a dystopian world in which vehicles has eradicated the human race and replaced them as the new rulers of Earth....
They probably need to maintain the fields so that they can harvest the corn for ethanol.
The existence of car pope in the second movie means Christianity is a thing and therefore car Jesus died on the cross for car sins
5:44 I’ve seen some “art” that confirms this
This Cars 2 slander must stop. It’s not Pixar’s worst film. Lightyear, Turning Red, and The Good Dinosaur are for sure worse.
Nah, you're getting Turning Red off the table. Instead, Brave should be there.
Toy story 4, Onward, Luca, Toy story 5 (i bet its gonna be a disaster) and almost every single modern pixar movie: 👁👄👁
I think turning red is bad only for men. (They don’t understand what a target audience is)
My biggest question is how are more cars made? Is it like in the Robots movie? 🧐🤣
5:05 I should've just waited for this question XD
9:30 term your looking for is planned obsolescence
I’m adding that to my dictionary😂
5:19 you should ask me about transformers but which continuity you want?
For cars in the real world, eventually the car company no longer supports making parts for a specific model.Unless you are willing to pay a lot of money on making custom parts, eventually the car will succumb to wear and tear over time. That's pretty much an allegory to the healthcare system.
7:50 Bessie is more of a tool or ad on , then a full vehicle
Yeah and where are the humans?
Are we gonna talk about the fact that the pope we see suggests that there was a car Jesus?
The Cars franchise is still one of the best things that's happen to Pixar. People that hates its just cant understand it.
When discussing Cars' popularity compared to other Pixar movies, this dude left out a crucial detail beyond Cars' box office and merchandise sales: DVDs
Cars is the 2nd-highest selling movie of all time, behind Finding Nemo, in terms of DVD sales. Not Pixar movies; movies as a whole, whether live-action or animated. Cars sold $326M worth of DVDs. The Incredibles actually comes in 10th place. Although it's not Pixar's best-received movie, Cars is easily one of their most popular, especially with their target audience (i.e., families with young children).
With that said, I agree that the sequels never came close to the first movie's level of popularity, mainly due to Cars 2 shitting the bed and Cars 3, while a fine movie, not being good enough to make up for 11 years of crap with this series (Cars 2, Planes, & Planes 2, basically). The problem wasn't Cars 1. The problem was Cars being dragged through the mud for so long. I could tell that there were no plans to make sequel to Cars, until the folks at Disney & Pixar saw how much money the 1st movie made.
Wow, didn't even acknowledge the fact that they have mouths like animals implying they have a mix of organic and mechanical insides!
9:05 my guess how doc died was simular to how his actor died if you're a transformers fan and I'm saying this with some respect for you with your theories
11:35 well they can’t let the grass over grow and maybe they use them for keeping grass and bushes non existent, since they mostly use non organic fuels anyways 😅
I love Pixar's Cars franchise!
….so dose he know about the deleted scene or…?
@@redrasegarden what’s in the deleted scene?
@ …simply put…corpses
Have you ever even SEEN turtles maiting?
I’ll see y’all in a bit when this gets famous
May i recommend The Unlucky Tug's full dive into the 3 movies?
8:01 don't forget trains
I love first cars, really appreciated second and hate third movie
This video has me tweaking, like honestly, how do they reproduce?? Cause i mean in one scene with doc hudson and the cop, Mcqueen looks away when the cop is suspended in the air, like he saw something he wasnt supposed to. Was doc just doing open surgery!?!
You finally figured it out? The rest of the internet are to that conclusion years ago
Cars 1 and 2 r AWESOME 👏😎
I really liked cars 2 personally
In Planes a crop duster gains an implant for him to be able to compete with the other racing planes. Why Lightning McQueen can't do the same might be because the newer parts may not be compatible with his model.Similar to not all organs are compatible with humans based on blood type.
May i remind you that Planes and Cars, while sharing a universe, they were done separately? Planes was made by a team in disney, while cars is from Pixar.
Not to mention that the only time both franchises met was in a maters tall tales, which is considered not canon
@GeorgeTankerYT I go by, it's canon until it's proven that it's not.Since nothing in the franchise has contradicted it,then it remains canon in the Cars universe. The second it gets contradicted then I'll throw Planes out as non-canon.
@greenleopard49 Then cars 2 is not canon
@GeorgeTankerYT Interesting, how so?
Planes is spin off is not animated by Pixar is disneytoonstudios same company make direct to video movies and tinker bell movies many people say is a rip off I not give sh from RUclipsr I think is underrated movies
Some things that you haven't touched upon is this: say you're built a giant semi truck or a plane, how can you enter so many different streets or buildings when you're so big?(don't even get me started on boats or space ships😂😂 )
Secondly, all the rich cars in this world seem to be fancy models or supercars like Ferraris, or Maseratis or Porches or Cadilacs but like, are they born rich just because they are a supercar/fancy rich type car? Can a boat be a milionaire or plane be a milionaire? And if so, what do you spend that money on, cause for boats other than interior accesories or a better boat house to live, what can you buy? And same for a plane.
Next is how does religion/politics work?(that's a hot topic that doesn't even deserve an explanation😅)
Moreover, the fuel on earth seems to cost money, but like, isn't that the one thing that makes a car live ? How can poor cars even live without fuel, it's not like they can move to steal some... And on that note, it should be illegal to have an oil tycoon in this world, since by producing gasoline and putting a price tag of how much you desire, you put a price on the very essence of a cars' life, don't you?
Look up the Pixar Theory it explains pretty much the whole Cars universe, Super Carlien Brothers have a good video on it.
you er not wrong
Bro. GT been beat you. They're evolved bugs.
I disagree that Cars 2 is the "worst" Pixar movie
to me, it will always be Lightyear
"Hey, what if we made the most BORING movie in existence?"
Cars 2 at the very least is still funny.
As someone once said, the worst sin a movie can comit is that of being boring.
@@GeorgeTankerYT Exactly.
Cars 2 also at least has genuinely cool moments, like the whole death scene with Bruce Campbell Car
not to mention that for a film that was made in 1990, it looked hyper realistic for some reason. Like, the movie Lightyear did not remind me of 1990, but rather 2020
The cars 2 hate needs to stop 😭 i love cars 2
Me too
