I absolutely have that same problem where if I'm just casually doodling I can draw all kinds of good art, but when it comes time to translate the doodles to a canvas it's never as good. So sometimes I just enlarge and copy my doodles. That's also why I have loads of art paper that I haven't used for years.
I think my composition books are my fav. There's just something about those covers, the size, the lined paper! Love seeing yours with the watercolor paper - good idea! I'll head on over and check your video on how you prep them. Thanks so much!
I loved this flip through, thanks for sharing! I also put watercolour on my pages before using them for my journaling. It’s because I love the crinkle too. I thought it was only me! Glad that I found a kindred spirit. I started using composition notebooks for my morning writing and have added some arty elements to it but I mainly keep it for writing.
I really like the way you have set up and journaled in the composition notebooks. I love the crinkle too! I think I will use a composition notebook for one of my next journals. Thanks for the inspiration. (New sub)
These particular notebooks have not been a problem. I had a couple (the ones with washi tape over the spine) that lifted but these are sturdy little notebooks. I do have book binding tape in case any of my art journals need repair.
I love composition books. I've used all kinds of other notebooks/journals, but always come back to these.
They are awesome and such an easy entry to creative notebooks or journals!
