- Sugarwood is still going through a lot of home and garden renovations and will be for a long time to come, but here is an update on the new kitchen windows, the porch renovation, tree work and garden updates. We still have a long way to go to get this old gal to where we envision her, but we are certainly on our way!
I found our solar lantern at Tractor Supply, but when I looked online, I do not see ours in black. Here is one that is similar and it comes in a two pack.

Linda you always bring a smile to my face and make my heart lighter. I love what you're doing to Sugarwood and right now in the gardens. After living here for five years, there is a house being built across the street from me. Friday I was on my last nerve. 18 wheelers with loads of mud cutting through the side of my yard bulldozers tractors dust mud. My screen porch is my sanctuary, well not anymore, it is dusty with mud. We had a hard rain so it is dusty mud right now. I know what we mean. I loved the peonies trip, I stopped this morning after mass and purchased some peonies flowers. Thank you everything is really coming along.

Oh, there she is! Good Queen Bess.....I adore her! I am so happy Willow is doing well. Everyone who has a pet understands and wishes her well. Wow, your construction team sounds so great and I could use a good crew! You are such a hard worker, Linda, and no matter what, you just take it on! Speaking of bears, we had a mother black bear and 3 babies visit us the other day. They came to the front door and Mama Bear was as tall as our railing on our entranceway which is probably almost 4 feet. Cathy Hermanson xxoo

I can totally relate to your anxiety when surrounded by loud noise. A neighbor had several trees removed and for days, all I could hear was a chain saw. I was surprised by how much it impacted my mood!
With all you have to do, a few weeds can wait.

Poor Willow! It’s always so frightening when our pets get sick. I’m so glad he’s on the mend. I love your idea of the bee wallpaper in the kitchen!! I absolutely love your channel & am always anxious for your next episode. Love seeing Willow, glad she’s on the mend. I am from & live in the south, Tennessee to be exact. I love old things, my husband always said I’m an old soul caught in the present. You show how we can live in both worlds & make them beautiful & comforting. I have several pieces that once belonged to great grandmothers, grandmothers & mother. They are not valuable antiques but I love having them because when I look @ them, they help me remember those I have loved & lost. I also love collecting old things, I always wonder what the stories are behind these things. You give great advice & “how to’s”. You have such beautiful gardens. Thank you for sharing. You can just see how much slower Willow is😔 love to see all of your garden come alive! My climbing roses are in the hundreds of first blooming right now. My MockOrange shrubs are in full bloom,( oh so fragrantly intoxicating). Your Kitchen remodel has turned out beautifully,very authentic yet to your early period home.

So glad to see Willow’s tail high & flying as she runs about. Pancreatitis is normal fun. My Boxer girl had it once but as soon as she missed a meal off to the vet we went. Dolly Dog loved her butters and when she didn’t eat or bounce about I knew my girl was not right. Willow is lucky to have been watched & loved.

Just a quick tip, I have raised bed garden boxes that sit on a gravel base. I am so busy with my garden plants and flower beds that I try to limit any weeding I can. I use a burn torch to hit the weeds in my gravel bed. The weeds die back and never set seeds. At the end of my garden season, I went in and weeded the roots out of the plants I burned. Every year, my weed issue gets less and less. This works for me.

I truly enjoy you vlogs and your your beautiful sense of traditional design. During Covid we did a major remodel, when everything went quite it was lovely. With that we also had some big tree removal and trimming, to watch trees guys was entertaining.

I was amazed how much larger your garden/yard was than the house. A lot to take care of.

I loved the gardening gloves so much that I had to buy a second pair.

It sure is for some New Englanders. The New England accent is a bit different in different regions and states, but unmistakable as a New Englander.
It's funny, I just Googled how it's pronounced in other areas and after watching several videos, in the UK and parts of the US it is pronounced with an R sound in it. Makes sense since New England has a lot of similar English sounding words.

Bear info was especially interesting. I live in Colorado where bears are pretty common in the foothills but, though we’ve seen other wildlife in the metro area, bear presence is cause for news helicopters.

I did the same with my Pella windows. To save a bit of money, I decided to finish them myself….all 18 of them 😮 it took several months!! Good luck
I am going to allow myself to do it over any amount of time it needs with all of my other projects. It will get done... .someday.
