Yes, unfortunately in talking with several people, including the giclée printers (the gold standard for printing quality), there is no good way to get a shiny result without adding shine after the print is already made. But I encourage you to try... perhaps you'll find a solution! One thing I can say is that I can always get shine on certain parts of a print, depending where the light source is, but never on the whole print.
