- People feeding and petting wild horses on Mount Charleston is a growing problem, according to locals. However, something could be done by the Forest Service to manage the horses. Channel 13's Joe Moeller explains.
People PLEASE. JUST LET THE HORSES ALONE!!! Clean up your trash, don't feed them and don't approach them. Just leave them alone!
watch from a distance. It's not hard.
I have lived here and in Pahrump for a total of 62 years and have hunted and spent a lot of time in the mountains and I was seeing the mustangs there 50 years ago. the horses aren't responsible for the bad behavior of people.
Where is a good place to hunt mountain lion?

It's not just illegal to feed the horses, it's illegal to come within 50 feet of a wild horse on Mount Charleston. The law against approaching horses is posted in several places. But people are always going to do it anyway, because they think "Hey, I'm special, horses love me". A few years ago I saw one of those payasos almost get his arm broken by a wild horse that snapped at him when he got too close. Someday, someone is going to get killed by a fierce kick.
But considering how many of the offenders are first time visitors from outside the area, an education campaign is going to have only a very limited effect. The Forest Service also can't dedicate staff to being herd monitors 24/7/365 to protect idiots from themselves. If they do see an offense, they should act swiftly and enforce the law.
I didnt know. Thanks!
The federal government can just make new regulation, im sure that will fix it ,and liberal good intentions. Always a winning combination.
Stop sending our mustangs to Germany
PEOPLE ARE THE PROBLEM
LEAVE THE WILD LIFE ALONE !!!
