You are quite the find for the people that you do work for. We have had SO many disasters with contractors. You actually care about what you do even if the people can't see the work behind the wall. I wish I could find someone as trustworthy as you are.
13:16 the workman’s prayer “Lord protect me form the shady things I’m about to do to collect this pay check”.
David Powell lmaoooo I know how it be grew up with my dad working construction so the workman’s prayer is something I can confirm exists 😭😭😭😭
David Powell I was just coming down to the comments to say that
Caught myself holding my breath at that point haha
That was sketchy.
I never had to do shady things in remodeling to collect a paycheck. I did things right even if it takes longer. I also had to fix shit from guys like you. Have some pride in your work.
As far as I know if you have different overalls for mudding and painting then you're officially a professional.
I’ve been around construction and real estate for most of my 69.5 years. If you enjoy your work as much as you seem to, you’re one lucky human. I think that your target to back off before you cannot move in the morning is spot on. Too bad that you represent a dying breed.
I can’t even stand on my bar stool without getting dizzy. I can’t believe you sat on that little plank to put that light up. You are one brave soul
That little plank was about 3 little planks 😅
@@Thebunholio they were 2x4 numnuts. And pretty dam dangerous, one breaks and 6 months in hospitable or death
@@uhenoalvarez3480 you seem nice.
we can all agreed your a pro at making and installing process, but those door handles and backsplash got us TRIGGER, thank you for the editing and video.. very cool stuff.
You aren’t just a handyman, you’re a master craftsman. You are incredibly gifted and I am so impressed with every aspect of your work, especially your appreciation for every little detail. I am officially hooked on your videos and plan to watch them all. I’m a self taught handyman myself and currently at a crossroads in life deciding whether to stick with corporate accounting or start my own handyman business like you did. I hope to gain so much insight from your channel 👊🏻
You did great work. However the interior designer needs to find a new line of work.
ad mobile4 I know right? also the curtains in the living room are hung too low, they should be hung higher right under the ceiling, usually interior designers know that I believe 😐
HaHa - yup
No kidding right?! OMG! Either the homeowner was clueless as to what really would look nice or just had so much $$ rolling around in the bank they just wanted a minor facelift, but for $100K, wow...SO NOT worth it! Oh well, we don't have to live with it...hehehe.
I was just going to say the samething.
🤣🤣😂
I said a prayer for you too when you installed the light
lol I would die, being that high up is one thing but on some boards perched on a railing and one rung of a ladder. No way Jose'. lol
Nice to watch people who care about there work like you do, I cant watch enough of these videos. Thanks
Wow. A brand new kitchen that looks like it came straight from the 1970s. They should have contracted an ID to consult on this project before they dropped over $100k on it.
I'm guessing that was a joke. An Interior designer did this.
@@TheHandyman1 The Kitchen is very nice in my opinion, however I have to agree the tiles are a bit eh, I personally would've gone for a nice white marble effect tile. However the workmanship is admirable. UK Chippy.
People have different taste in design, who would have thought.
Love the quick prayer before hanging that light fixture. Looked scary
I’m just here for the backsplash comments!
My DIY Adventures was gunna comment about how much I hated it lol
Where exactly does "Handyman" end and "Professional Home Remodeler" begin? I do believe you've crossed that threshold.
Its only the name of my youtube channel. I'm a remodel contractor.
its refreshing to see that I am not the only Nut job that likes to take on that much work on a project as a 1 man gang ! Its definitely motivating to know there probably a lot of guys like you and I in the business that succeed all by themselves ! I will always have work offered to me more than I can ever take on here in Hawaii on Maui …. my total respects to you my Brother
Those kitchen tiles...I'm baffled.
My friend you are not a handyman. You are THE MAN. Awesome work and patience.
The amount of work you did for the time given and the outcome is insane. Well done man, very well done.
I can tell you're really happy with your work .. that's one of the signs of a really good craftsman
Always find myself binge watching this channel. The guy is a freaking Swiss Army knife. Quality and care into every job.
Damn! Handy Man Special Forces! You literally built the entire house yourself! 🇺🇸
You’re more like Tom Silva on this Old house… Your skill set is way beyond any handyman I’ve ever encountered. You do beautiful work!
By 2022 standards,; you undercharged! What a fantastic job my dude. Truly amazing, particularly your woodwork around the fireplace. Really nicely done!
22:38 when you spend 100kplus to remodel your home but only use on light bulb to save on the electricity bill lol
you pay 100k over 30 years, you pay electric bill every month.
@@robgeach8105 bro led bulbs. That would cost like 5 cents a month prob less
"I did not make any design choices." LOL! Hilarious, but you know it's gonna be tacky when the youtuber says, "I just did what I was told."
It looks EXACTLY like a "custom" production home now lmao
I had to build a scaffolding to hang a light and paint the ceiling/walls in the stairwell area. It was still a harrowing experience. I wouldn't have gone out on that board set without some clamps at both ends on the boards to prevent sliding, but you're the pro.
Amazing job. You reversed my negative bias on handymen. Incredible.
I'm impressed on you lifting that drywall up the ladder by yourself! Great job.
Also meant to add, you're great at what you do. Work solo, and seem like a cool guy. I'd hire you. Thanks for your videos.
OMG... when you put up that chandelier, standing on that plank of wood. I was scared for your life on that one
Me too.
Back splash is at 18:00 minutes in..... all you need to see
Screw what these people say you do very good work your very well rounded on your skills
This is truly beautiful. You deserve every penny you got paid. This is such hard work
The interior designer should be taken to the woodshed, I mean the entire remodel looks like crap, but you know this and no one should turn down a profitable job.
I'm not one to shit on people's taste, but i'm glad there's people like you that are blunt and give no fucks. I agree, not worth 108 grand.
Looks soooo cheap, omg
@@Keo0oo It doesn't look TRAGIC...but I do wonder where they're located because THAT (amount of work not quality) for 108k!? Robbery 😂😂
we live in boston. adding a two story 20x26 addition with master suit for 106k
@@YelenaShamray11 Yeahhh. We do a lot ourselves. But adding on a 20 by 40 top and bottom (framing, foundation, etc) was about 10 grand . I'm gonna stick to them southern prices for now 😂😂😂
As someone who works commercial construction, it's so nice to see dedicated professionalism. It seems like more, and more it's rush to get it done with no care for quality. (From workers & owners.) I hate it when it's "good enough".
The bathroom with two sinks still looks builder grade. Needs new counters and faucet fixtures.
You’re a talented guy. To work by yourself is gotta be tough. I always like to have a guy that runs to work trailer to grab tools Or to do clean up and other crap I don’t wanna do. Lol.
To find good help is my biggest challenge. Last couple years my son has work with me and he’s been such a great guy to have. I’ve been self imploded for 13 years now with total of 23 years experience. I’ve never advertised and all my work is repeat customers and referrals. I’ve always had the mind set to go above and beyond with my work. Be upfront and respectful to people and I’ve got more work than I can possibly ever do. God has blessed our family and from some knuckle head is high school to a successful small business owner is the absolute American dream. Be safe and god bless.
He's not a Handyman! He's a Carpenter!
People like what they like 🤷♀️ good job handyman. I was sweating when you installed that light fixture.
Same...couldn't be OSHA compliant 😂
It's insane how one man can be a full crew with your knowledge. The right tools, the right processes, you just make it look so easy. One man that knows every trade at a professional level is unbelievable
I'm very impressed. You're not your average Joe with a hammer. Excellent work.
Thank you
Wow!
Very impressive! You’re not a handyman you’re a contractor and more!
Thank you. This one was a lot of hard work.
I am so glad you survived that hanging light installation in stairway! I think by the comments I read that the owner had poor taste, but what do I know? The tile makes me dizzy with the offset, LOL Otherwise looks awesome!
The interior designer made all the design choices.
I'm late to this one handyman, but you are officially my favorite channel on the RUclips now.
Nice work sir!!! Yes, table saw DWE7480 (I have that exact saw, I use it alot to rip plywood and studs) in the house! I have a DEWALT DW717 - dual bevel sliding saw (love it). My tile saw, I wish I had a bridge saw, but mine is a Kobalt 400$ saw with 24" rip. It's sort of a pain when I have to do cross cuts and it gets in the way on one side. That's why I bought this cheap ass 50$ QEP saw, and ripped the top guard off it it to do free cuts haha.
@18:18 - Wherever this is they don't require GFCI plugs? Out here in CA, anything 3 feet near water they nail you on inspection. Basically, bathrooms and kitchen are the biggest things. I see one on the left is GFCI, but the one closest to sink isn't.
Oh 1000$ TOILET SEAT? WHAT???? lol.
Wow you did such a good job with everything and recording it as well. You have put so much work and dedication into this house and it shows. You deserve so much !!
What a professional man you are. I always cant wait to watch your videos. You are a true craftsman.
You went way beyond handyman on this job!
Kudos to you for a great job! You must have busted your a** to do all of that by yourself, in a timely manner!
From one handyman to another Great work buddy... from Colorado
Awesome work! You don’t have a tiny shop, but it’s not the biggest I have seen. And what you are able to pump out of there with the limited space really has me reevaluating my own efficiency. Well freaking done, man! Looks awesome.
I appreciate you sharing your hard work in a video for us.
Thanks for watching.
Everything around the fierplace looks great. I really like your creativity/versatility with the white thing around it, a «manteau de foyer in french». Still do not understand who would pay above 100000$ for all of this but good for you!
I like the interior design... I think the overall feeling is warm, comfortable and relaxing. I'd hire that designer.
Great video.
Id love to work with you for a few years. Been doing maintenance for a long time but nothing like this. Demand is increasing for people like you and me daily. Great workmanship
Like that tool that used to hold the uppers up with never seen it before
i would double the planks when doing the lights, just in case
I've watched a lot of your videos, and it gets hard to keep track of the different jobs that are all in the same house, so I'm very excited you put this compilation video together. Wonderful work! Out of curiosity (and you may have answered this in the stand alone video) what tools dis you use to cut the weird cutouts on the tile to go around the outlets and framing? Did you just get fancy with the wet saw?
Dude, I knew you had skills. But you are a true master!
Thanks! 😃
I like the idea of the semi trailor support bar, very smart.
Excellent work brother....i really enjoy your content and am inspired to go on my own after discovering your channel. I've been a union carpenter for 20 years, and even though the pay is great, it gets monotonous also doing side work really bites into my time and energy. Your channel has me motivated so thank you.
Wow. You should have your own show on HGTV. You have skills. Great video.
oh man you got more faith than i do in that railing ! love the videos
Holy balls I could feel the anxiety of those heights for that fixture.
Wonderful work! You sure had me so nervous on the stairs putting that light in! :) Peace and Good Fortune to you and your family.
Great work! The office right next to the play room is a little counterintuitive lol
You are a beast in your craft! I subscribed just because. I don’t have the slightest inclination on doing any of this but I wished I had this type of talent and skillset.
im glad the designer didnt talk the owners into moving the plumbing to an island within the kitchen. moving plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanicals are always budget busters. Great timelapse from beginning to end.
Thanks
Another great video Handyman.
Very impressive work...... and that ninja jump.......Mr Miyagi would be proud.
Awesome work! Definitely a job I'd be proud of! We get paid to do the job, not tell the client what they want. If they ask for our opinion, sure go ahead and give it.
What products did you use to set the tile? Looks good
That mantel job 🔥what a beauty.
Looks great handyman!! Backsplash choice is questionable, but the work is immaculate!
I see the interior "designer" was a raging alcoholic. At least that's the only excuse I'll accept.
Raging something.
This was amazing to watch
I was cool and good with everything, thinking, "okay, yeah, I can do most of this with some time and practice..." right up until you hung that huge light, then I'm thinking...nope. LOL Also, all of this nice new stuff and spending more than my house cost on remodeling...and they went with those tiles? I guess whatever floats your boat... Awesome job though! :D
Could you please please please show how you got the angle for the drywall when extending the fireplace wall.
I am a contractor. First cut your drywall to the width of the wall. Next make a level line where you want the bottom of your sheet of drywall. Once you have that line you then measure the height to the ceiling on both sides from the line up to the ceiling and mark those measurements on the edges of the drywall that you have cut to width. Connect those two points diagonally and that should be the angle that you need. I hope that explanation helps. :)
I wish I could do what you do. Congratulations on learning those skills. It is impressive.
handy man is just too awesome, makes things look so easy!
After watching this I had to subscribe my respect to you sir and your level of craftsmanship. I only wish I could go to a school that teaches these skills so I can work on my own house.
We are enrolled on RUclips University. 🎓
Thank you for sharing. Incredible video. For the light installation Could you have used another ladder to distribute weight and given you a second set of boards and more room may be. Secondary options can improve odds on your favor. nothing is more important than your safety.
Your work is amazing , the interior design is not my taste but as long as the home owner likes it, that’s all that matters!
The mirror in the 1/2 bath being to the right of the sink drove me nuts! Great job though!!
Me too.
Hi, I was wondering what was the tool you were using to help you hold the cabinets up with? Thanks!
I held my breath the whole time you were on that plank. I know you made it out alive because this video is posted. But I was still shook
Wow amazing work you did.
Way to get paid handyman! Nice work and an appreciated video. Backsplash was a gross design choice and I thought the height of the cabinetry flanking the fireplace was awkwardly too low.
13:16 - *OSHA has joined the chat.
You are an amazing man! I am learning a lot from you. Thank you for showing every step.
I appreciate that!
10:21 Always start in a corner. Floors are never level, set your level mark from the highest point in the kitchen.
You should buy and practice taping with a banjo, it will cut the taping time in 1/2 at the very least.
I have had one for a few decades. I only get it out when I do larger tape jobs. Its a big mess.
Amazing what one man can do. Not many like who can do it all. Awesome!
Yeah, I have to give you kudos on this. I think you're saying the total reno cost was $100k, not your part of it. In Colorado with prices like they are, that's what I'd expect to see. But you DO good work, and I see a bit of custom cabinetry going in here, so I can't heckle you. Good job, sir.
Gosh that damn light fixture. I cant watch or im going to freak, God bless you and your hard work i COULD NEVERRR
Thougbotta date n style. Those cabinets looked like they were in pretty good condition.
The old ones are in my workshop now.
Wow 100k, I did the roof including sofit and facia replaced, new gutters, 2 bathrooms remodeled, the whole concrete slabs around the house been replaced, new porch, new paint, new huge garage door, new sod, hardwood floor refinish... all that didn't cost half that price.
those kitchen tiles I am pretty sure people take those out of homes.. but you are a hunk and good job on the work.. I also think if you are going to take the fireplace to the ceiling.. I thought it would be covered in something; other than just painting it a dark color..
I thought it was ginna be stone
What a satisfying video to watch! Keep up the great work!
Awesome work, I love the channel. I would have liked that number on the top left to start at zero and go up as you did the work in the time lapse. Not a criticism, it would have been for my own curiosity!
13:24 gave me so much anxiety
