you can get them on the official vocaloid site (or second handed three times cheaper on sites like twitter or discord, ik it sounds very shady but usually there're a lot of good deals there) :) v6 (and v5??? i think) have trials so you can try them out before buying if you're unsure. there're much more engines besides vocaloid and a lot of them are free or have free trials as well. for this cover i used synthv for tuning and then put a render from there on an audio track using vocalochanger (basically a morphing tool that v6 vbs have) because with all my love to fuiro, she's sometimes untunable lol. for mixing, any daw counts as long as you know what you're doing (i highly recommend watching or reading some lessons instead of repeating my mistakes and trying to figure out how mixing works completely by yourself). good luck with your start!! :)
