I have the same issue with those plastic blast gates. I use a short, small diameter punch to dig the debris out of the corners with the dust extractor on. You do have to take one Sid off which is a pain. I will now watch your video on how to make my own. Thanks!
My homemade gates are still Kickin, you just can’t beat them BUT I like the new addition
Hard to beat them for the money. I added that little kicker post a long time ago and never had any issues with it

The blast gates I make clean theirself and I have used mine for yrs now and no issues
