I'm not worried about the size but the drag pressure. The frame and side plates being all made of CNC aluminum the reel seems perfect for punching, flipping, or frog baits until I read it has 14 lb drag pressure.

Is that comparable to the Shimano aldebaran?

In weight yes. However I would say that it does not cast really small lures quite as well.
