I love how sharp the pick attack sounds on the second one. im gonna get this guitar in a couple weeks from sweetwater. will definitely take customization queues from these vids of yours man you have incredible taste. Im not one for tone but i didnt know how different pickups can impact the sound. I respect your single humbucker spec bc i just like how they look. riffing is phenomenal. keep up the great work.
I am using my Gio stock with what came on it. Last night was the first live gig with it. It sounded great. Looked great and I'm happy plus our guy that runs our sound board was happy with it too.. I do know we are all looking for "that" sound though. I'm gonna keep watching too!!
@@dethpig420 sweet.. I'm still really digging this guitar seriously.. I love when I get that guitar out to play as it always sounds so good. Never lets me down...
i got the same guitar! i put some dimarzio Titan with black cover/gold screw, jackson locking tuners and i recomend you to change the nut for a graphtech or maybe a buffalo bone nut, that change a loooot the harmonics and the tuning issues/intonation
Sorry, I know English bad.. please tell me what products I need to buy on Amazon to clean this guitar and what kind of oil to moisturize. and what strings 🙏🏻
Great video! I'm buying one of these. Are the stock potentiometers any good? If not, I'd like to hear the stock pickups with better pots and a graphite nut.
just saw this guitar at guitar center, played it for a few minutes, im not used to how close the volume knob was. is the body routed underneath the pickguard in a way that would allow me to move the volume knob?
Call me an idiot, but I still like the sound of the old pickup better than the new one (that is NOT to say that now it sounds bad. It's good, but with a slightly different feel). But anyway, it's all a matter of taste. Enjoy your new axe, Stein!
Hehe I get what you're saying mike. But the thing is, going through these amp sims they sound not THAT different but on a real amp you can hear the mud disappear when going full distortion with the EMG 🤘
@@SteinG Thanks so much Stein! I’m thinking about installing a single Jim Root EMG Daemonum. Do you use amp sims or an actual amp? I’m 15 so I can’t afford very expensive amps but I use a Fender LT 50 and you can get some wicked metal tones out of it. Thanks for the great video!
Hey I Just got one of these Ibanez and was wondering where you got the pickguard and shorter screws from as I was wanting to just put a single emg in this guitar
The neck is very comfortable and smooth but not as thin as a wizard neck. It's a different profile. The song is something original I've been working on 😉
DUUUUUUDE! That’s it I’m getting one when they become available! Just for future reference, can you gimme the info on the new pickguard? I’ve never modded or had a guitar modded. Was did it have the pickup and volume knob or did you acquire them all separately? And is there a website where I will be able to find it?
I found the pickguard on AliExpress under "Ibanez pickguard" and then search around for a single (or double as preference) H pickguard. and I had the EMG set lying around from another guitar I dissected 😅 sounds awesome right?
@@SteinG Sure does! My only concern is with that being an active pickup....I looked through pictures of the guitar on websites and saw there is no door on the back for battery replacement. I’m guessing you just take the strings off then unscrew the entire pickguard to change the battery? I may just go with a passive pickup. At the risk of that defeating the purpose, I do like the look of that guitar with just one pickup and just a volume knob. Any recommendations for a passive bridge pickup?
@@markaddis84 for a passive one I would recommend a DiMarzio D-activator. Those are the pickups in my white and black iceman and they are voiced to sound a lot like EMG's 😉👌
I just got this guitar, I see what you mean about the screws digging into your skin when doing palm muting. Question you said you used m3 x 5mm as per your likings does it have a buzz fret on being that low action? Thanks!
Hey man, nope they don't buzz except when you're really digging into the strings but that's normal 😁 I tried to keep about the same action (maybe a little lower) than original but the main difference now is that the screw don't stick out and bother me 😉👍 give it a shot and it'll feel sooo much better on the picking hand
@@SteinG Hi will you be able to send me a picture of the replaced screws? Looks like it’s too short and will not be able to go through? Do you placed it at the back for it to stand?

Very cool! Blacked it out even more and sounds great both stock and modded. I appreciate the bridge modification tip.

Great video series ! loved the facelift. may I ask where did you get the pickguard ? I'm thinking of doing the same to my guitar

I do have intonation issues.... starting to hate it.
even doing the intonation?
@@jesuzleonardo should probably get it checked out by a tech

wow! nice tone
Would you mind dropping the pickguards link where I can find it? I was checking literally everywhere.
Where did you purchase the pick guard bro!
Like nr 3! Beautiful job! congrats for the upgrades! It sounds fantastic now!
Thanks!! Yeah it really is getting to that point that I'm happy with it
Nicely done. Good upgrade.
I'll stay tuned.
Locking tuners for the next step, totally make sense.
..Fret ends feel okay?
Not a sharp fret in sight and I'd know as I'm always easily annoyed by it

Awesome, go for it!
Can't quite say on the pots as I'm only using it with the EMG and I'm happy 😁

Hi man! where do you get the pickguard?
Awesome upgrade! I have one question: how hard is it to put some active pickups in this guitar?
Not very hard at all seeing as the actives come fully solderless. It's just a matter of clicking some cables together via a how to on the EMG site
Why did you go with EMG’s instead of Seymour Duncan or D’margio’s?
I wanted a pickup that could really bang out the high gain stuff and I've always liked the bite that an EMG has
Did you change the output jack as well since the output jack socket is not the one that emgs use?
Yes, I fitted the one provided in the EMG set. Good point to bring up 😁👍
@@SteinG so you must’ve had to expand the hole and install a jack plate as well?
@@abhilashalfred I ran a drill through the hole to expand it ever so slightly and reused the original plate

Found the Pickguard on AliExpress, the shorter screws in the hardware store 😁
Hello brother were did you replace the Battery?
Is it recommended to use this guitar for clean stuff???
Or shall I ask, is it good for versatile genre???
Maybe with stock pickups????
Sure!
The stock pickups aren't as hot as the EMG so you can get some pretty good cleans out of it 😊
Hey Stein!
How do you do to replace the battery for the pickup? Do you need to open up the pickguard?
Normally yes, but I've fitted a battery box in the back of the guitar (had to mill a hole for it) so now I can replace it very easily
Ooh I see!
Thanks so much for the reply Stein, you’re awesome!
