The guitar player is T-Bone Burnett…famous also as an amazing producer….and miracle worker. He proposed the lions share of the songs that Alison and Robert covered on this album and they both cannot say enough about how incredible he is
If you want a REALLY fun watch, check out their interview with Charlie Rose. So much laughter is shared. It’ll put a grin on your face to see how much fun they have together.
I believe he also did the opening credits for True Detective season 1.
@@tkmoore6057 when you say “did the credits” what do you mean? Did the music?
"We're not worthy, we're not worthy!"
They have two albums together…Raising Sand from 2007 and Raise the Roof from late 2021 which they toured last year and will be out again this spring snd summer.
A really nice track to react to which also has a great official video is Please Read the Letter from Raising Sand.
Allison and Robert are very good friends….have an easy going relationship with lots of laughter
This was performed right before they won Album of the Year that night.
The song Nothin' from the same album is so good! Of course, I'd listen to Robert Plant sing the phone book but regardless...
Powerful song
Robert also collaborated with Patty Griffin, a singer/songwriter in her own right. From about 2010 to 2013 or so They formed The Band of Joy, released an album snd toured it. They became a couple snd lived in Patty’s hometown, Austin Texas.
A great song from that album is Little Angel Dance. There is a live performance From The Artists’ Den series that you would love. Lots of band and audience energy and shots of very happy faces, which I know you love.
This was the Grammies 2009…….Recall that December 2007 was the O2 Celebration Day concert. This was a busy time for Robert.
When these 2 got together I was stunned, I knew they'd sound fantastic together. Her Angelic voice & his smoky voice is a match made in heaven.
Love seeing you react to Plant and Krauss. I love them together, and I haven't seen many reactions. More, please.
just discovered your channel
keep on rockin
you should break your judas priest cherry with "painkiller"
you won't be dissapointed
While the US had the British Invasion in the 60s, the UK was experiencing the benefits of R&B, and Americana. In 1963 Roy Orbison toured UK and his opening band was The Beatles, 1965 Roy's tour of Australia had the opening band The Rolling Stones. Robert says he was so familiar with Blues he could tell the producer of the song and even where it was recorded. Many of the songs on Raising Sand were from Robert's jukebox. Robert learned of Alison driving through the Appalachian Mtns and one of her songs came on the radio, his people talked to her people and Robert extended a tentative hand. Alison knew of Robert Plant from his work with Led Zeppelin which her brother played while they were growing up.
The featured guitarist is T-Bone Burnette, a legendary producer and guitarist. Very strong ensemble. Robert and Alison really love performing toghether.
Actually, it's considered blue grass.
I dont know if u reacted to please read the letter. Amazing song by them from the same album. Originally written by Led Zeppelin.
Correction….written by Plant and Page when they collaborated on their album in 1998 …..Walking Into Clarksdale I believe is the title.
They won best album in Americana genre…and then went on to win album of the year. Americana is now the genre where bluegrass, blues, country, and rockabilly all meet. As you no doubt know, their latest album was also nominated this year for best album in the Americana genre. It lost to Bonnie Raitt…..but Americana and folk are where Plant now finds himself….in general.
The guitarist is also the producer of the album T Bone Burnett. Alison was asked by Robert Plant to perform with at a Lead Belly tribute. Raising Sand came from that. Their second album Raise the Roof is being toured this Spring and Summer. Please, please, please watch the 2007ish Charlie Rose interview with Alison, Robert and T Bone you will enjoy it.
Please “like” my suggestion for the same thing up the chain under Helene Spaulding. The more people up vote it, the more likely he might do it! 😁
Love your listens, comments, and added info which makes it all the better. Although he does not play music or react, Andy Edwards (from England) was the drummer for Robert Plant on his solo tours and has a brilliant mind for music, particularly prog. He has some great ideas. You might enjoy checking out his channel if you have not already. This drummer is not Andy.
(oh, and don't forget about early Genesis)
An incredibly beautiful and moving song, and video is done by Patty Griffin, and Robert Plant called Ohio. Even if you don’t react to it, I would suggest it to you to watch. Their voices also blend beautifully.
Sal….I know you’ve listened to In The Evening by Zeppelin twice; the studio first and then Knebworth. BUT: I just watched again the Page/Plant version from 1995 in Detroit with full Egyptian orchestra and it is outstanding. Since it’s one of your pets by Zeppelin, I wanted to flag that performance as perhaps the best of the bunch.
Robert Plant and The Honeydrippers was great also 🤘
Alison Krauss is no joke. Her and Beyonce go back-and-forth for the most Grammys won be a female artist. She's an absolute powerhouse.
You need to watch the video to gone gone gone. You will be cracking up.
Guitarist is at one burnett! Huge producer!
They have a new song called, "Can't Let Go."
Raise the Roff I like even better than Raising Sand.
Just adore Robert Plant
Would never have guessed by your handle. 😉
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 he is a lot to me than a singer!!!
I will be going to see this amazing pair on May 9th!!! I am so excited ❤🎶🔥

@@davidgiles5912 my show is in Asheville
I'm seeing them on June 15!
My favorite female singer. ❤
Collaborations can be a train wreck, or a first class trip across Paradise..this is the latter...
Love their second album even more!
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 me too brother. My favorite out of both of them is Please Read The Letter?
So I saw Led zeppelin when I was 16. It was 1970. We dropped some acid. I cannot remember the concert. It's so sad! BUT, I'm going to see Robert & Alison with my 40 yr old daughter in July. At least this time I'll be fully there!!!! 😉❤️👍
Is Alison and Elvis Costello still together?
Seeing them both in June!
@@lynncasciotti2156
