*deep breath* Robert Plant. The greatest lead man in the history of rock…to the greatest band in the history of Rock - Led Zeppelin. Alison Krause - The Queen of Bluegrass!! Zeppelin’s Black Dog from this concert must be heard!
Had the pleasure of seeing him live yesterday night with Saving Grace. It’s a magical experience to see one of your idols live, even when you’re 16 and he’s 75! Still a great voice, and the band with Suzi Dian were amazing!
Led Zeppelin with a bluegrass twist. Krauss and Plant are amazing together. Their album, Raising Sand, is a grammy winner. You can feel the chemistry. Please react to someof their music from this album. I really like Gone, Gone, Gone or The Letter. T Bone Burnett, who introduced them and produced their record, is one of the guitarists on the video.
Funnily enough I heard Raise the Roof first. I think I heard 'Somebody Was Watching Over Me' in a record shop, I was entranced, opened up BeatFind on my phone and found out who it was. So I got that album, and realised later there'd been another one ages ago. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd have liked it in 2007, but I've grown up since then. I still prefer Raise the Roof, it's like a first love. ♥ And also, T. Bone Burnett - whose production on the last few Elton John albums I've found problematic - is just wonderful on these records.
Nice collaborations between Krauss & Plant. Good examples of the Celtic influences that you could always find in much American country & bluegrass music.
These two are so different it is crazy and yet it works. She comes from the old bluegrass background and he is from one the most famous rock bands in history.
Allison is a Grammy winning bluegrass musicisn and singer, a child prodigy. When she steps out into different genres or duets, it is always Grammy winning. Aside from musicality, Grammys are why artists want to work with her.
Great reaction Britt! You are correct, Alison has an amazing voice. She and Plant teamed up for two albums. The first in 2007, or so, and the second recently.
I was lucky enough to see them do this live in May. Robert sang it, though, and the arrangement was different. It was the same version they played at Glastonbury. It was incredible in person.
An amazing and unexpected combination of artists. Alison has a beautiful and soft voice. The only concert I’ve been to where the audience begged for the volume to be increased so we could hear better. Listen to “Please Read the Letter” … “The Price of Love” and “Going Where the Lonely Go” by them.
Someone here should mention this was an old pre WWII blues song by Memphis Minnie. It’s getting towards time somebody among the reactors explored the old blues it all came from ~ if you want to go deep
this started as a bluegrass song by kansas joe and memphis minnie, then zeppelin reworked it as an electric blues song, and this version takes it back to bluegrass with a gospel feel
⛓️⛓️🎼🔥🎼⛓️⛓️ .. thank you Britt .. I was immediately enthralled years ago when these 2 giants first ssng together. Every song they sing is goosebump material.. 2 of my favorite voices of the last 157 years. Keep bringing the good stuff 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗯🙃🗯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I believe this performance was from CMT Crossroads. I watched the whole episode. It was great. They also played a great version of Led Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll"
Wow, I just heard the John Pauls Jones version and I don`t know who did their version first but I am suprised that considering they were band members that they both did their own version of this song.
Yes maam, there is a difference between a cello and a Bass. Its mostly about the size and depth of the body and sound chamber. The Bass has a larger body and a deeper sound chamber. The fingering surface(Fretboard on a guitar) is also wider than a cello. In Bluegrass the is known as a Bass Fiddle or Doghouse Bass. In Classical its the Bass Violin or Double Bass, but either form they can be bowed just like a cello or violin, or plucked, or slapped. Very interesting instrument.
LMAO 😂, I've been following Robert longer than you've been alive. Great reaction. And yes this song was written when Robert was on a spiritual journey.
I knew you'd like this one... People tend to forget that Led Zeppelin primary influence was the Blues. So nothing to wonder about when Robert Plant teams up with the Queen of Bluegrass. The outcome can only be awesome. 👏👏👏👏👏
Robert Plant's solo song "Big Log" was covered by bassist Viktor Krauss (Alison's brother) ruclips.net/video/iFg1vS7OXdU/видео.html Guess who stopped by to do vocals?
Tremendous adaptation, they were great the last time they were together so no surprise they slipped right back in their groove. Awesome stuff to just chill out. The original Led Zeppelin song is a heavy blues trance, this song is just so good either way. We are not worthy! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
There's a hidden gem of a band from Norway who plays Bluegrass. They do some great covers of well known songs, one of which is Wayfaring Stranger ruclips.net/video/4bvZ-WCkXGE/видео.html (All My Tears ruclips.net/video/iMbbTQrC41o/видео.html from the same concert is also excellent)! They also do a cover of one of Allison Krauss's songs. Although it's a live performance it's professionally recorded so the production value is top-notch. Anyway, please consider them. They're so good!
No they definitely are not a couple. She is happily married and has children. I do believe Robert also has a wife although I'm not sure about his status these days.
Here is a thought. If you know the volume is low on the video you shouldn't yell and get loud on your end . That way when we have it turned up on our end to hear it you won't break our eardrums when you get excited. Thank you in advance.
Whatever you do, don’t listen to Alison Krauss Ghost in this House. Oh wait that’s me who shouldn’t listen to it. That one breaks me every time. It hits a little too close to home. Gone, Gone, Gone if you want something that’s a little more fun.
Great pairing. Krauss is good at a haunting melody, and this song is perfect for that vibe. The original is interesting, the drums are really accentuated there. Good example of how close rock is to country or even bluegrass. This song really sounds like the bayou. Similar vibe - "Hurricane" by Band of Heathens.
The Led Zeppelin version picked up on the original song's life threatening and destructive nature of a flood caused by a levee breaking, Krauss is a wonderful singer but her version is too ethereal and does not relate to the song's subject matter.
There is ALWAYS a disparity between video volumn and your studio volumn, sometimes it it startling.Shouting and close proximity to the mic are uncomfortable to some listener's ears. Just saying.
@@photoscottsb To each his own! Everyone has an opinion and their own taste in music. Zeppelin is and will always be one of my favorite rock bands. I don't care for bluegrass or most country music so of course this sounded quite off to my ears!
Robert plant don't get me wrong one of the best all time and of course zeppelin is the goat but I do not like this at all one of the greatest songs to this is awful to me
*deep breath*

Alison Krauss started as a gospel singer, and she had many gospel songs in her music from O Brother Where Art Thou
Glad you got around to them.....Two amazing talents that you would not think would mesh well.......
These two are so different it is crazy and yet it works. She comes from the old bluegrass background and he is from one the most famous rock bands in history.
I know this song is specific to Louisiana but as a Seattle dude it makes me think of here and our rainy days.
Allison is a Grammy winning bluegrass musicisn and singer, a child prodigy. When she steps out into different genres or duets, it is always Grammy winning. Aside from musicality, Grammys are why artists want to work with her.
Plant and Krauss "Please read the letter"

please read the letter is just ahmazing
These are two giants who's genius should not be overlooked. Thanks.
Someone here should mention this was an old pre WWII blues song by Memphis Minnie. It’s getting towards time somebody among the reactors explored the old blues it all came from ~ if you want to go deep
“Pleasantly dark” is perfect! No style of music does minor keys like Bluegrass!
Alison's voice sounds spiritual almost all the time.
this started as a bluegrass song by kansas joe and memphis minnie, then zeppelin reworked it as an electric blues song, and this version takes it back to bluegrass with a gospel feel
Yes, I totally agree it's cool 😎
⛓️⛓️🎼🔥🎼⛓️⛓️ .. thank you Britt .. I was immediately enthralled years ago when these 2 giants first ssng together. Every song they sing is goosebump material.. 2 of my favorite voices of the last 157 years. Keep bringing the good stuff 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗯🙃🗯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

1927 Kansas Joe Mccoy and Memphis Minnie When the Levee breaks ❤🥃🥃✌️
This is a great version. It's dark music paired with the soft vocals... Perfection 😍
Alison is probably the most underrated musician ever. Yes, I know she has the awards and all, but in mainstream she is hardly ever mentioned.
I've been a fan and gone to see Alison performing since she was a chubby little girl with frizzy brown hair, oh so long ago.
Swampy dark feeling.
Wow, I just heard the John Pauls Jones version and I don`t know who did their version first but I am suprised that considering they were band members that they both did their own version of this song.

Shocked to see Robert Plant (blonde curly hair) the original singer not actually sing with her.
This is pretty interesting take on this Zeppelin classic. I still feel original is far Superior!
Yes they are a couple rock ‘n’ roll and bluegrass country come together
That's known as a double bass or stand-up bass...either term works.
LMAO 😂, I've been following Robert longer than you've been alive. Great reaction. And yes this song was written when Robert was on a spiritual journey.
Please more Kyauss Plant
Britt, you're right...this song feels like an incantation summoning up "the spirits."
Try the version with John Paul Jones from Led Zep and Playing For Change (and many others)
Original is blues, Led Zeppelin cover is Blues - rock, and this here is country
Cello is tenor, where the bass is well...bass! Lol
I knew you'd like this one... People tend to forget that Led Zeppelin primary influence was the Blues. So nothing to wonder about when Robert Plant teams up with the Queen of Bluegrass. The outcome can only be awesome. 👏👏👏👏👏
Exactly who forgets that? Huh?

Hey Brit...If you like how she sang in this song my I suggest you listen to her song, "Jacob's Dream" you want be disappointed.
If you want different you should hear them sing the song Black Dog from their PBS live special. So different from Led Zeppelin Four album.
Big difference between cello and bass
Of course it's dark it's an old blues song, but it was fantastic. My first time hearing this version
At that point “officially” they were not a couple. They became a couple.
Tremendous adaptation, they were great the last time they were together so no surprise they slipped right back in their groove. Awesome stuff to just chill out. The original Led Zeppelin song is a heavy blues trance, this song is just so good either way. We are not worthy! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Kansas Joe and Memphis Minnie 1927 ... Zeppelin covered it 😉✌️
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline - Randy Newman or Aaron Neville - Louisiana

People, shouldn't Brit be the new Ivory soap girl? Her skin just glows.
Whatever you do, don’t listen to Alison Krauss Ghost in this House. Oh wait that’s me who shouldn’t listen to it. That one breaks me every time. It hits a little too close to home. Gone, Gone, Gone if you want something that’s a little more fun.
They're album won 5 grammys. I like your reaction. This music is as stripped down as you can get. It's not for everyone if you don't understand.....✌️
@__Miss_brittreacts_ It's great to hear from you,, What's going on?
Hey Britt, could you post the link to the original?
ruclips.net/video/swhEa8vuP6U/видео.html
Big difference between a bass guitar and a cello. Cello is played upright and is larger than a bass guitar.
This is great, and Plant is the GOAT.. but this still doesnt touch the original.
There are MUCH better examples of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss songs - I hope you check some others out.
The Led Zeppelin version picked up on the original song's life threatening and destructive nature of a flood caused by a levee breaking, Krauss is a wonderful singer but her version is too ethereal and does not relate to the song's subject matter.

Ya uploaded this one twice. Your other video is the same
@__Miss_brittreacts_ hello
My personal opinion...turning a classic rock Zeppelin song into a bluegrass sound didn't impress me.
Funny. Robert Plant sure looked impressed.

If you ask me, they ruined the song completely with this limp version. Listen to the Led Zeppelin version in comparison and you'll know what I mean.
