0:46 The doping doctors interaction with Froome wasn't idiotic in any sence: it was a safe dispersion of doping fumes whilst only Froome was around, and it indeed helped him to win! Check the race results, if you don't trust me.
Other episodes you had show did cause disturbance, but that one - not, Froome was even allowed to participate in #TourDopeFroome later in the Summer. Thanks (Giving) for the video anyway!
I thought the spectator carrying an inhaler around Froome was offensive and disrespectful.

Just like to add a thumbs up for the roadside police who did manage to push idiotic spectators out of the way. GCN could probably do a video just on the good tackles those guys managed.
Gordon Moat Absolutely, and when they do they must include the men's TT from the World Championships in 2017. It was when either Dumoulin or Martin was going up the final climb that one bloke received an almighty shove from a police officer.

What was the valid point? If you’re referring to Froome’s use of salbutamol he was allowed to take as much was found In his system and the other 20 drug tests came out completely clean.

Froome had that one coming, and they didn't cause him to crash or interfere with his path. No harm done.
Why? Just because he has a physical problem that he can't help and got cleared during the drugs tests?
The last guy clearly has no respect for the cyclists. If you must do that, do it to someone who hasn't ground out a small advantage against the best riders in the world with most of one of the toughest climbs in the sport still to go. Do it to someone off the back. Adam Hansen knows what's up.

What about the fan that punched Froome in the TDF, or the fan that hit Thomas at the top of the one climb? Those two are certainly worse.
Nobody blinked when the inhaler and Dr came out to play in the Giro,it still comes up in conversations at our post ride coffee.
It was pure genius.
How was the Chris Froome bit part of the fans worst moments? They did not get in his way or pose a threat. It was a funny moment in cycling and encompasses the Spirit of the sport and it's fans.

Compared to most other sports, cycling fans are allowed to get WAAAAYYYY more up close and “personal”. I’m surprised that there aren’t more incidents all things considered. LOL “little old lady on a motorized cart...I didn’t even see it coming!”

I remember in the early '90s a fan on Alpe d'Huez thought he'd do his hero Gianni Bugno a favour and splashed cold water on him to cool him down.
Caused a severe cramp, Gianni fell off and was unable to get back on his bike for several minutes.

The idea that showing up with a big inhaler to mock Froome's salbutamol use is in any way comparable to taking riders off their bikes is ludicrous and reveals the biases of GCN.
Of course they are biased towards Froome. The folks at GCN and Froome are all Brits. They will support their national athletes until it is proven Froome did in fact violate his T.U.E.

You have to admit that mountain bike races are better set up, since the spectators have tape between them and the riders to eliminate any "fan interference"

Dont make this kind of video's. Why give these fake fans a platform. It ruins cycling and is dangerous for the riders.

It is already ruined be these idiots. There are so many of them. It's not just Tour de France. Even Triathlon, the bicycle section where ''fans'' just randomly cross the road when an athlete comes in with the bike and inevitably crashed into the person. It just baffles me that so many human beings are so uncivilized, rude and disrespectful. They don't give a single fuck about anything. Is it really so hard to just stay out of the goddamn way for the bicyclists who have trained with their soul and heart to be able to compete in an event which has basically become an absolute zoo-like sport. What a shame for it to be degraded like that.
Knowing how hard the riders train, how much they commit into a race day, how hard they are working, and how exposed they are to hazards, the willingness of people to run alongside them and potentially make contact with them just astounds me. It shouldn't, but it does.
They should be whipped, accordingly. Seriously.

Everyone in the "sport" uses crap. At what point will the cycling community just accept that reality? Not a single one of the top riders are clean, not a single one. The exact same thing in body building. I find it pathetic that people try to pretend otherwise. Exact same thing with 100m racers in track. I cycle because I enjoy it. I don't follow the big leagues because and refuse to do so until they just admit that it's a race between the most juiced up guys out there. Instead of this year in year out pretending it doesn't exist just admit it and be honest about it.
Le Tour de France is not only a cycling competition against time but also dynamic obstacle avoiding match. The official did not seem to provide security to control the crowd.

At the Tour of Switzerland this year, Richie Porte went up to the booth for the final time trial stage. A lady holding an umbrella (on a nice warm spring day) suddenly ran in front of him and nearly knocked him off the bike. I recorded the whole thing, seeing as I was standing right there. I was at the Hammer Series in Hong Kong last month, where I mentioned the incident to Richie. He could clearly remember, and he jokingly suspected she was hired by a rivaling team.

this video makes light of the situation . in fact it is incredibly dangerous for the riders to allow these idosts anywhere near the road .many riders have been taken out of the race due to injuries and they generally get off with a light fine IF caught . that stupid B that brought down the entire peloton of the TDF last year only got fined 1300 euros . it should have been 13000 euros .
IMO, Cycling spectators are the worst. Swarming tightly around the cyclists at HIGH ALTITUDE, sucking all the precious oxygen. 🤦♂️
The Froome one reminded me of a fan bashing Barry Bonds for his alleged drug use. He made a banner that said...

10 whips on the backside for knocking a pro rider off the bike and ruining his season and possibly his career, would be some small measure of ensuring that fans behave themselves. They seem to have no clue as to how much these riders are sacrificing and stand to lose for all of their EXTREME sacrifice and suffering in training and racing, only for one dic head to just shrug, dust himself off and head off down the mountain again free as a bird. Why should he be allowed to just walk away without any accountability?
