I think this trailer had a deeper meaning to Kuro Dev. Zhezhi as Wuwa's dev, the revised painting as Wuwa itself, and the blonde client dude as players. Remember when Wuwa's just released and global players voiced their opinion that the first beta 1.0 story is more unwelcoming to Rover and more complex, and therefore they liked the old one better compared to the current one, despite Kuro had to revise it in the first place because many CN bros complained about it? Yeah, I remember that...

Yeah. Kuro is basically mappa rn with how overworked they're. They're just pressured by the expectations i think. Cuz they could've delayed it after deciding to change 90% of the game. But probably due to wanting to compete with the "other" games they decided not too which was a bad move. Look at arknights enfield and how long they're marinating it. It looks really good and the devs couldn't care less if people are not a fan of the gameplay cuz they know their market.
Well can't really blame kuro as well cuz compared to others, kuro is a much smaller company. They need the growth in their community to grow as a company as well. Eventhough that means bringing in those who aren't even a fan of kuro's formula which is those darker themed settings and stories.
I thought the same thing when watching the trailer! I like that they showed the client as both unreasonable but not like he was tyrannical, just absolutely tone-deaf to the effort involved. They also portray Zhezhi with the same complex mix of wanting to please the client, even bordering on being a doormat and yet not because she chose to do business with the client, and yet still being so enthralled and passionate in the art she loves.
I can see the devs absolutely loving what they do but also being overworked and exhausted by expectations of players - and I can see players (in general) wanting the game to be the best it can be so demanding more whist failing to realize how difficult it is do develop a game like this. Such a brilliant mix of exciting joy-filled passion and soul crushing pursuit at the same time lol.

Their main issue in CN was mainly the rest of the story (like how they present them, specially scar's appearance) Plus the part where rover saved everyone and yet the npc's still treat him like shit
that was their main gripe
but
that thing was drowned out by all the complaints that didnt elaborate and just spams the story needs work
also you can still apply kuro and players in the mix with what i said
most of the testers being vague on what they want to change vs kuro having to guess what they want to change
ending up with a not so ideal story
OH wait, yeah! that make sense, yeah i remember that.. i'm still mad they had to change the story because player from a particular land cry about it.. looking back at the cutscenes compilation from the beta hurt my feeling that they had to throw all that and make the new one, and make 1.0 story look bad.. i mean look at crownless, he's badass as hell
Everyone, remember. She made the 1.2 version art and Kuro just paid her 20k shell credit... it's criminally low! for comparison: 1 egg costs 1.5k shell credit. My girl did that amazing art work just for 13 egg 😭😭😭

So the term "Starving artist" really describes Zhezhi well. I can't imagine how long that artwork took to finish.
To me, Zhezhi got more and more beautiful the more Wuthering Waves made promotional stuff that included her. Her drawing the channel banner, the splash art, the art for Login event, and now this... She keeps getting better and better. Here's hoping the story's delivery is great!

Correct me if I'm mistaken but a lot of the characters quest we've gotten so far deal with internal conflicts no?
Jiyan with survivors guilt and PTSD,
Lingyang learning about self love, conflicts with racism, and acceptance
Yinlin letting go of revenge and death of parents at a young age and how that affects someone,
Jinshi how the weight of responsibility can affect someone and learning to accept help and that you dont have to face challenges alone
Changli was an analogy mirrored with the NPC couple in her quest about how those with terminal illness and how accepting your own death or the anticipated death of a loved one can be difficult to accept. example the npc so absorb about trying to search the world for a non existent cure for his partner instead of spending what little time left he had with her. with Changli being a phoenix knowing shes going to die very young and learning to accept it
You're right, this is a good breakdown! What I really meant is I want characters to behave differently towards Rover based on their struggles but they're all very warm practically from the get-go. Yinlin is arguably the most unique in this way.

On top of it they stand on their own and don't just revolve around rover they all have distinct personalities and sad stories which makes me care more about their stories and future

Changli isn't a phoenix, she's Vermilion Bird (Zhuque), one of the four mythical creatures similar to Jiyan's Azure Dragon.

Realistically speaking, it's not being rejected that's the problem.
The H-man can draw (and very good at that), but as most would describe his art: "soul-less". As he grew up to be a dictator, he considered art with any sorts of abstractions, form to colors, to be a perversion of art itself. This already was a problem in his perception long ago made worse by the rejection. It's an ego problem.
Zhezhi, on the other hand, was exceptional in every aspect, bringing subjects to life quite literally. But after knowing that her family only appreciated her art for their personal gain then blame on her for not drawing anymore, literally rehected by her family, she had to move away in order to draw art for the sake of art.

Rover already has a personal painter. We made that dailies guy famous by letting him draw Rover Potrails. He now makes bank selling Rover portrait merchandice. Her potraits must sell like hotcakes. But honestly, im kinda hoping its going to be related that would give reason she may interact with Rover. Maybe she was inspired to want to draw a potrait of Rover too ? Since that guy did make a name for himself on Rover.
I wanna see how the 2 artists meet together ngl. Literally learning from a master.

Zhezhi is actually really nice, I think “the problem” with her is that so far we’ve seen Yinlin, Jinshi, and Changli who are either top tier story, combat, or waifu material, or a combo of all three.
Yeah ZheZhi by comparison is super normal. Shes just an artist doing commissions not necessarily lore important but I think thats why they are going for the relatable aspect. Imo it works and she stands out because of it.
Essentially it’s them shifting from the high to a more grounded character since if we did any comparisons, she is likely below lingyang in terms of story portion by not being as much of a major character for lore wise.
Maybe closer to yuanwu as a more day to day life type of character then pulling off massive crowds of awe, but more like admired by the works in the background or so.
Still they nailed her rather good as a more subtle type character.

I didn't want her before, but the line in the first trailer really resonate with me, and her trailer was so relatable, I'm an artist so I understand her :´) and now i want her so bad she's so real

I'm just starting a RUclips channel (and also love Wuthering Waves) and am struggling with video production and just wanted to say I *love* all the little touches you put in your videos. Perfect use of transitions, music beds, little sound effects here and there - I'm just blown away by all the little professional points you put in your video. Great content on its own, but also incredibly well presented.

I'm so excited for Zhezhi. I agree, the front of her outfit isn't my favorite but I can relate to her so much because I am too a commission artist! I can't wait for her and I love her already and I am hoping people will enjoy her like me!

i feel Zhezhi pain and frustration so much.

It's been bugging me that the blonde hair NPC design is very different with all of the Jinzhou resident, someone told me that he's theoretically a different resident and maybe somehow highlighting the new region's attire 📖✍️

The dress jacket gives a more New Federation (perhaps?)/Western design though his childhood village is in Huanglong and his inner dress shirt has the same oriental ribbon-y buttons, so maybe he's originally from Huanglong but moved "overseas" - essentially a reverse Mortefi, who is from the New Federation but works in Jinzhou, Huanglong.

Every Npc that speaks tends to always look different in Wuwa even in the trailers they're all unique or less frequent

Do not forget that its not a historic setting, its a world rebuilt with mix of technology and resonance abilities in the future, ppl can choose to wear their attire differently in the future

I agree about her design. it's giving "wholesome," yet still coomer bait, and I feel like that direction compromises the quality of the design overall b/c it *almost* feels like something she may not wear, just based on first impressions. I think a lot of the things I don't like about wuwa have largely stemmed from them trying to mold an identity based on what they *think* their **perceived** playerbase wants, instead of just doing their own thing.
the uniqueness of design is what I liked a lot about PGR. that game has a style and personality of its own, but so far this game has felt like it's desperately trying to appeal to this "perceived audience." I do think as the game matures, they'll fall more in line with their internal vision for the game, but I hope that's sooner rather than later.
I believe she will become something of a community mascot. At least to some extent.

I just love characters who fight with some sort of artistic weapons, whether it's Selena fighting with instruments (Tempest was the reason I got into PGR!) or Zhezhi/Ayla with a paintbrush. It's just... magical.
And while I like shy girl characters, I do share your sentiment when it comes to wanting her to be more than that. I got really bored of the popular anime shy girl trope, when it's their entire personality. She does seem to be more than that indeed though!
I only wish her dress was also a bit longer, but oh well 😄
Either way, I'm definitely gonna try and get her!

I thought it was just another story of “perfect artist goes under-appreciated and underpaid by everyone except for- *gasp* her competition??” Or something to that effect. It’ll be interesting if they go a more flawed angle with her character instead though!
Me and my sibling collectively cringed at her at first glance (my sibling is an artist) only to turn around and pull for her after running her story. I would occasionally tease them with "I-i don't have a very large social circle 👉👈🥺" and some of the other overly introverted dialogue but by the end of her story i was convinced of the strength of her character. Kuro is just really good at hooking you with their interesting character designs only to make you fall in love with their character right after.
That was, no doubt in my mind that this was the best resonator showcase, no bias

Call me crazy or paranoid if you want to, but i have the feeling that her story quest will have some sort of involvement with AI generated images. Considering how her whole character focus a lot on art (both on the brigh and (heavily) the negative side) i was surprised AI wasn't even mentioned both in the teaser and in this video. Because fun fact: that thing exist in Wuwa (kinda)

Well, I _am_ in the arts industry and the academia part is more forgiving, in a way, but I resonate so much with her.
She is very cute. I love all the ponytails and ribbons in this game (my real life style, much like Changli's thigh high socks). I'll have a fortnight to think about whether to pull her because I do have a guarantee. :3v

I like Zhezhi's story, plus her combat style is so good. You won't have to bash the dodge key with her either which is great for me.
Also, something I wanted to mention. Does someone else notice the comparison of Zhezhi's storyline with ai art and real artists. Like, her storyline has some kind of artists' org that wants their artists to copy her art style essentially. But they can't seem to do it which in turn makes things worse for the artists as well as other people. (Very loose explanation) Anyway, did anyone else think it felt like a call-out to how ai art seems soulless even if it is beautiful, just because there wasn't life breathed into it by an artist?
Changli and Yinlin's more my type but I've grown to like Zhezhi's design and character, especially after her trailer.

i think the story might be good, id want to play through a story involving her to get interested in her, and id want to trial her gameplay before deciding if shes worth the pull, shes not drawing me in like the other characters with either right now. the voicelines weve heard just kind of annoy me for some reason? not sure what it is. and her visual design doesnt appeal to me that much either, and im okay with not having her even if i like the story so really it comes down to just gameplay.

Well, on my side, i'm not too excited about Zhezhi, she seems fine but well : we've just got out of Yinlin, Jinshi and Changli banners and I definitely won't have the pulls for her

If she's good in the story, I may build pity on her to see if I get an early or not
But so far, my biggest expectation is Danjin content : when will she be relevant Kuro ? It's already been 2 updates and no sign of Danjin ?!

I actually identify with Zhezhi so much we both have social anxiety and I feel like she's autistic coded in some way. so sad i lost 50/50 to verina.
Zhezhi's design is not my cup of tea (neither is the jiggle-physics, especially when the fabric is stiff, it makes no sense). BUT if she is a great support/sub dps for the characters I do enjoy playing then I will pull her. I also am glad she is designed well in the back since that's the view we see most of the time lol
