After rewatching all of their fights I just cannot pick Alex. He's got a great chance to KO jiri but I think Jiri's going to be a very difficult stylistic matchup for him. Pereira just doesn't fight well under the kind of pressure that Jiri brings.
@@yhyhyh47lucastracy is out of his mind. Everypick he makes is wrong go back and watch his videos he picks the loser everytime...i dont even know why this guy has a fucking mma channel.
Question: why do you like Alex over Jiri? I’m only asking cuz I’m a huge fan of both of them. They’re both KO artists, but they stay humble, never bragging and seem like genuinely nice guys outside the cage. They both have respectable fan bases without having to put on a character, but just being themselves. So I can’t really pick one, but I’m excited for them to clash.
@@jezebulls Because Jiri is super fast and has good power, with an awkward style (I'm also a fan of his), but keeps his hands low and has some terrible striking defense. Alex's power is levels above Jiri's, and his overall striking and defense is better. Alex is 36 now, which isn't so good for fighters though.
@@JesusGarcia-pz6vga double champ is someone holding belts at the same time in 2 divisions, a 2 division champ is what the definition would be for this
Lucas is actually correct on all these parameters. But forgets the fact that Alex has glover in his corner preparing him for exactly the same things. Glover himself has faced Jiri and almost had him beat. So he knows exactly how to train Alex for Jiri’s style. So it’s not like Alex is having a spontaneous fight with Jiri left to his instincts.
I see what your saying but that’s not to say he wont crumble under the pressure bc he’s going to have to keep his mind on a 100 different things all at once bc of jiris unorthodox style. It would be damn near impossible to prep him for jiri 100%. He’s way too dynamic of a striker to stay 1 step ahead of him at all times. I can totally see jiri eating Alex’s left hook and continuing to move forward until Alex runs out of options.
Glover was a really smart fighter. No special physical trait, so he's a BJJ specialist, which is all strength and smarts. He showed what an incredibly gritty smart fighter he was against Jiri. Alex is fantastic, but he aint no Glover. Only Glover could do in his fight with Jiri, what he did. (And Jiri said in an interview he learnt bigly from that fight... perhaps his love affair of getting bloody and beaten for motivation may have died in that fight. That fight looked like it HURT.)
Sean is a plodster who doesn't throw many hard shots, mostly just jabs, jiri has chaotic in n out movement and mostly throws lunging jabs and right hands, the presence between the two is way different, Pereira will be in trouble early on

People don’t understand pressure. Pereria is going to walk forward and Jiri is going to move more and circle out, darting in and out. Jiri will not put pressure on him because he’s not sound enough defensively to stay within range on anybody. Jiri gets clipped all the time too.
I think it happens in the first round, if Izzy who is passive can constantly catch him with shots in both fights, Jiri can too and he won't be scared to engage.
But you can get caught by being reckless, izzy vs Alex was a battle of two snipers, meaning with any misteak one of them could be out cold, jiris not much of a sniper more of a technical finisher
I'm saying Pereira has shit defense, Jiri will go after him, if you watch the fight backs, Pereira was getting tagged by random ass left hooks, not to mention how long it took him to adjust to the right hand from Izzy. You can also look at his kickboxing fights, he constantly gets tagged.@@jae8246

Congratulations to Alex Pereira for his incredible win over Jiri Prochazka. Alex TKO’s Jiri with a Left Hook to Jiri’s Right shoulder. Absolutely wild.
Congratz on Alex Pereira for scoring a left hook KO on Jiri prochazka in Round 1. All he needed was one singular devastating LEFT HOOK to knock Jiri out 😱
It’s ridiculous and a waste of time to read the comments on a prediction video bc you already know what most ppl are going to say, GIVE IT A REST ONCE IN AWILE!!
You underestimate Alex on the backfoot. Jiri will be most successful pushing on him on the backfoot. But I think the issue you should be speaking about is Jiri's match in length matched with the unpredictability, power, and awkwardness in his offense. Jiri actually has a good chin as well. That being said the fight is 55-45 Alex's way because I expect Alex to adapt early on and really respect Jiri's weapons because he has to.
You’re underestimating Periera on the back foot. He beat Strickland by circling and allowing him to march forward until there was an opening. Jiri’s style is completely different but Alex has already shown he can figure out and counter different styles. I see him analysing Jiri in camp and coming up with a winning game plan. Glover and Poatan win this via fight IQ and experience.
Strickland just goes out there chucking jabs and teeps and his output is no where near that of Jiri. Plus Jiri is way bigger and has a much longer reach. Hits a lot harder too
Your points are valid, but even though Pereira doesn’t fight at his very best when walking backwards, we can’t ignore his ability to adapt. He is so talented and skilled at striking that he is probably able to figure Jiri’s style out during the first minutes and then find the holes in Jiri’s game. You’re overlooking Pereira’s power and precision as well, which probably Jiri is gonna respect. You can be sure Jiri’s not gonna move forward and attack crazily all the time because he knows what can happen. And there are the leg kicks as well. If Pereira can kick Jiri’s calf for like 2 rounds, I really doubt Jiri would still be able to move the same way without making mistakes. It is possible that we see a Pereira victory by decision and not by KO/TKO. That all said, I’m picking Pereira to win by KO/TKO at some point of the second round.
>he doesn't have a weapon off the backfoot This might just be the worst analysis ever. His entire game of the left hook is catching someone coming in and retreating while KOing them stiff with the left hook. All his setups are to goad the opponent into opening up. A right hand is a good answer if he's crashing forward into boxing range like when he tried to pressure Adesanya, but if you're doing the initiating that's exactly when he corks the left hook. Izzy, if anything, is one of the harder fights for him because he's never on the offense. Leg kicks tilt that matchup though.
Really got it backwards man. Glover isn't the worst or best striker and he dropped Jiri but messed up by going in for a choke. Alex might murder this fu because he fights reckless.
I agree 100%. Jiri is all about nonstop pressure. He can get hurt, but he also can just go on the ground. Where he knows he is on different level than Alex...
interesting take. Wondering if ring rust will be a factor for Jiri. In his time off Alex has fought 3 times maybe 4? That favors Alex in my mind. Plus the mindset of avenging the loss of his friend and mentor Glover... Is that enough to make him stand his ground?
Pereira was on the back foot the entire Strickland fight. He circled around and peppered Sean with shots to stop him from putting combos together. Watch it back
Sean doesn’t throw combo’s like Jiri man. He’s throwing 1-2’s jabs and teeps with pillow hands and a 76 inch reach. Jiri is throwing the kitchen sink with dynamite in his hands and he’s got an extremely difficult rhythm to pick up on. Strickland is perfect for a guy like alex lol
