My husband left me for a younger woman that looked just like me. His third affair became his second marriage. He took her to all the places we've been to and took pictures with her where I had my pictures taken. My whole 9 year history with this man erased by selfish lustful desires. I didn't exist anymore. He replaced me, our memories, with a counterfeit. And he called her the same things he had once ascribed to me. The "queen of his castle" his soulmate, his angel, the love of his life. His principessa. These were all my names. And now they are hers. I only think of him when I hear music like this. It brings everything back. But it all belongs in the past. Everything is the past. If anyone is "shiny and new", it is you, Anoushka. You had to wash the dirt off and evolve out of your pain into a new woman. I am now a new woman. Everything that was broken has mended but doesn't move and bend the same way. I move and bend in a different way. Like water. Water always makes a new path when the old path is sealed. The goal is to flow from one place and be in another place. Never be stuck in a place you don't belong. Belong where you deserve to be.
> My whole 9 year history with this man erased by selfish lustful desires It doesn't have to be that way. My wife also left me under similar conditions. I've many fond memories but I haven't erased them. I'm happy for her instead. Why would I stand in the way of her going after what she wants from her life? The only reason I can think is because I had my own selfish, lustful desires. I don't want to be selfish or lustful. Instead, I congratulate her on the courage she had to pursue what she wanted in her life. I love her very much, and I'd only ever want her to pursue what makes her happy, even if it comes at my expense. That is what true love is.
Pain is pain whether the rain comes and washes it away or not. Such a beauty our Anoushka and soon she will be dashed up up and away by someone who has been waiting. Blessings.
You can almost feel her pain expressed through the chords on the sitar. I only discovered this by accident, never really listened to Indian classical music before but I am captivated

The Sitar is a singer. I love this honesty throughout the voice of the co-singer because for me the Sitar says more than the singer and the way Anoushka plays the Sitar is killing. Usually in this kind of subject (betrayal or cheating in couples) there's a lot of screaming and big/heavy instruments sometimes you have a simple piano-voice but not often. I like the way she expresses the feelings . Pain can be expressed through a pure silence and pure feelings.

This is such a beautiful song, I don't know how many times I've listened to it in the last 24 hrs, can't keep the melody out of my head. I have to say "Serpent in my bed" is my absolute! favorite line, but I also really love the "I know she’s younger than me - less pain to carry" part and "now are you haunted by me" is so harrowing in a good way, with "but repetition lies ahead for you" being one of the most powerful scary fortunes I've ever heard.

This is not a weeping sing or a melody of pain. Will a goddess weep or feel sad if a mere, petty man "leaves" her? No one can leave her. This is purest form of art, bigger than anything, specially something as volatile or meaningless as human emotions. Shine on, my goddess!
I have never heard sitar music before. All I can say is. . . wow? Wow, wow, wow. It's so soulful, especially with other string instruments, and percussion. And don't get me started on the skillful sharpness of the singer's voice! It cuts straight into you.

This is incredible, the perfect blend between western theory and tonality that i've grown up with and gotten used to and the microtonal eastern ragas and expressions i've only recently fallen in love played at once. Incredible.
Love from nepal thank u for playing indian and nepali classic rag tune
Anoushka ! now I understand why your serene and wistful smile bring tears in my eyes
This is not a weeping sing or a melody of pain. Will a goddess weep or feel sad if a mere, petty man "leaves" her? No one can leave her. This is purest form of art, bigger than anything, specially something as volatile or meaningless as human emotions. Shine on, my goddess!
I love your music! Sending you my love from Greece !
Здравствуйте, Люди Добрые! Сердечно благодарю за Свет Очей! Всем Мира!!!
Didn’t understand but liked
This is a soulful journey to the heart of a painful experience and back again. I love it all - but am enthralled with the upright bass and the sitar.
I am just listening to this song now and wow, it resonates so well! how are you👋!?
Ах как же она красиво играет!!!!
Она и сама прекрасна!!!
@@вассапирогова это очевидно,даже без комментариев)
I have never heard sitar music before. All I can say is. . . wow? Wow, wow, wow.
It's so soulful, especially with other string instruments, and percussion. And don't get me started on the skillful sharpness of the singer's voice! It cuts straight into you.
You must listen to Anushka's other performances too.. Sure the more you listen to Sitar.. The more you addicted to it
Anoushka , sofria de insonia ate nao conhecer o seu maravilhoso trabalho , hoje consigo dormir profundamente sem nenhum tipo de medicacao , apenas te ouvindo , enviada dos deuses na terra !!!!!!....
This song is painfully soothing to me.
Of all those expressions of yours while u play Sitar... Anoushka I really can't see u with that sobbing face at the start of this video... Love u lots... dont let it get to you.. 🌺🧚💓🌅
Esta canción me ha hecho sollozar, me ha calado profundo.
It took me 29 to finally hear such a beautiful combination like this.
Apart from lyrics showing pain.......its Relaxing......👼
This song is like water. You also flow with it. 🌿
