Trust me 99% things are manageable in PGs that too we have Unisex PG also and the only thing is fix timings of fooding which I agree could be hassle sometimes else it would not bother as you are paying for your Indepdent room. So no one gets bothered about your shift timings, for washing machine, you yourself use it or professional laundary service is also available. If any of your relative comes and stays and you are staying room in single occupancy so there is no further cost. For their food you shall pay yourself because you also are going to prepare food for them in case you have room on rent also and that also make sense
And yes you can tell about your allergy and food non preference, scope of slight modifications are always there when it is being managed professionally. You may had a bad experience but all fingers can never be same. I hope I answer your curiosity.
