I love the the FREEDOM that you highlighted! I enjoy selecting the fabric that I want (or have on hand) and subsequently altering/creating a pattern to provide the ease that I desire with that fabric. ❤ Great channel!
I’m terrified to design my own pattern, but do it all the time in my bag-making. I agree that it definitely gives more freedom. I know what I like, so tend to look for patterns with those features!
I understand, it can be very daunting. The thing that I come back to again and again is better fit. I attempted to make a denim corset last weekend (from scraps, for a halloween costume) and I used someone else's pattern. Even though I took key measurements, comparing my body to the pattern, it still did not fit. I should have just used my close fit waistcoat pattern and hacked that. Sigh. Anyhow, if there's anything I can do to help persuade you to have a go at making your own, do let me know Maria! 😘
Interesting! Can you talk about pattern making for plus sizes. I want to start drafting myself but can’t find any good resources for plus size drafting.
Hey Claire - sorry, I didn't see this til now! Absolutely! I think there's very little in the way of reliable information on plus size drafting, so would love to talk more about this if it's helpful!
Hi… can you please make video about transforming from basic bodice pattern to a shirt or blouse pattern?like the pink shirt you are wearing. I am still confused. If I wanted to draft a shirt from my basic bodice pattern, I added 4cm on the bust length, do I need to draw the shirt armhole line a bit lower than the basic bodice pattern armhole line ?
It’s near 10 pm I have been working on making a dress, using two pattern I have cut out the skirt pieces and gathered them but I need to make a bodice design for the top. I also have a band to attach to the bottom part and connect to the top. Do you have any suggestions

Ah, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, and agree 100% - the freedom we have is why I do what I do! 😘
I am so excited to have found your channel
Thank you so much! I hope you find what you need but I am always open to suggestions of new videos! 😘
