Oh, this unlocked some DEEP childhood memories--I used to play this game with my sister when we were kids! Thank you so much for reminding me about this game!
I remember this one, use to play it with my brother all the time. He Also watched the Ai play for hours and learned all the answers so he could buzz in about 2 seconds in and know the answer.
It's cool when TRG can move away from the well know stuff and teach us about some more obscure party games. I'd never heard of Killer Queen Black before they LP'd it and now I get to learn about Anticipation as well.
I didn't know about this game till Jon's streams yet it's still incredibly nostalgic somehow - just hits that late 80s zeitgeist and style in so many ways.
Oh man! I remember learning some english words thanks to this game when I was very young (I'm not a native english speaker, it's my 2nd language)! I used to play this with my sister all the time. This is extremely nostalgic for me. I remember the music, the imagery, the sounds when a letter doesn't fit a word correctly, etc.. Can't wait for the rest of the series!
I had some preconceived notions only after seeing the thumbnail and how this game looked really dated and retro. However, after seeing the actual gameplay and how it's kind of like a hybrid of wheel of fortune and pictionary, I'm actually excited for and anticipating the next episode of this side-series LP.
How long before this game gets tired of Emile’s bad guesses? Because unlike Wheel of Fortune, Anticipation only gives two chances to guess before they lose their chance. 1:55 I’m amazed Emile didn’t go for the obvious pun. That or he’s finally learned how to restrain himself and not lean so hard into the puns. 2:10 Who did the sound track for Anticipation? This bit sounds like the Lose a Life music from the DKC games (namely the original). *one google search later* No wonder; it’s David Wise. 3:35 I remember Jon got this one wrong on Arcade Pit once during a Relay Race. 4:33 Suddenly Bagel comes running down to see Jon. 5:30 And this one Jon got right in that same Arcade Pit game, about as quickly as he did here too. 11:33 Not to mention this is Jon’s favorite NES multiplayer game. He really does have the home field advantage on this one. 17:22 At least it wasn’t “Spyglass” (personally, I thought it was a syringe). 18:40 Science is a fun word to shout. 19:25 I expected the game to have done that to Emile for his Telescope guess. But really, “space rocket”? I was expecting the “You win!” music for the end card. Again, Arcade Pit.
This is a really interesting game, it's got me hooked on just one video. I wish it had more editions, I think it'd be a really great game to have... multiple editions of.
