I only discovered your videos yesterday. I am really enjoying them. You are so calm and kind and it's a refreshing change from the usual weightlifting fitness videos I watch, which are often loud and frenetic! There is a time and a place for both styles of presentation. I guess your videos are aimed at older audiences, but I truly believe that exercisers of all ages will benefit greatly from your videos. Thank you so much for making them.
Thank you so much! These are so easy to do, yet I can feel them right away. Love your videos because you explain each exercise very clearly. Plus you speak as if you're talking to a good friend that you really want to help. You're positive and inspiring! Much appreciated!
Wow!!! So awesome. Love the isolation of each gluteus muscle. Found out rather quickly that one side is very weak compared to the other. Thank you for all you do!
I laughed so hard at your cat just standing there looking like the litter box might suddenly reappear that I missed the exercise and had to rewatch it twice. I’m finding these exercises really helpful. Thanks
Thanks so much for these exercises! After just a few days, and ever since, they have made a tremendous difference in my ability to sit, stand, and walk comfortably, without the feeling of weakness and the aches I was feeling for many months.
Hi. Im from the philippines and 65 yrs old . I just dicovered your videos now , its very informative and its so much help for us as a beginner . Thank you so much and God bless you.
This question is for Margaret or anyone reading it who knows more about exercise than I do: how many repetitions of each exercise should I do? What should I aim to do everyday? I'm thinking one set of 20 reps, but maybe three sets. I have no clue. Thanks.
Why did you have the foot step in the photo? Does lifting 1 leg off the floor help with the butt squeeze? Do we do that only with the single side squeeze?
I don't know about my rotator cuffs, but I'm sure feeling something ALL down my back from these four. They are simple & (I hope) productive - SO easy to add to a daily routine. Thank you!
I am so glad that I came across your videos while searching for certain issues I experience and this one is great but I just wanted to also thank you for your comments on rebounders that followed this routine. I kept hearing all the reasons why we should rebound but every time I would do even ghe smallest amount, my back, hips and arms, basically my whole body would ache so thank you very much. I can now give that up without feeling I should be doing it!
This is a great video and I appreciate Ms. Martin's work immensely. However, she skimped on the last butt cheek exercise. Would you please provide some necessary details, Ms. Martin? Which butt cheek do I squeeze when lifting my foot to the stool? Do I squeeze my butt cheek(s) continuously throughout the movement? Thanks!!
Yes it seemed like the video skipped to the end without showing how to use the step for the butt squeeze. Are we supposed to actually step up on this step or just put one foot on it and squeeze the glut of the bottom leg?
Just like if you’re standing and you squeeze both muscles in your gluteus, if you put 1 foot on the stepstool and squeeze the buttocks that is the stabilizing leg on the floor, then you switch to the other side and you are isolating the muscles on each side. This way you’re training them to work independently each time you take a step rather than having one being stronger than the other if you squeeze the muscles together all of the time.
Great daily exercises! Many commenters asked for (1) clarification on doing the butt squeeze using the stool (incomplete demonstration) and (2) number of reps per exercise. Margaret, would you please respond to these comments.
Margaret, love your content. Exercises are so helpful for me with scoliosis & osteoporosis. My glutes need a little work. What’s the trick to activate the glutes when walking? Thx Diana
These are great. I had rotator cuff repair 4 months ago. Are these good exercises for my rehab? My physical therapist has released me but he said I should do shoulder exercises daily for the rest of my life
Your videos have helped keep me 'on.the Task'..😎..it Really.helped me.when you.Reminded us Not to let our Shoulders Collapse In when doing certain moves And to 'Start Small' if Thats All you can!🙏💖🌿💞
Your exercises are excellent, really appreciate them. Did you have Speech Therapy as a child? There’s still things you can do for articulation & crispness of consonants. One therapist to another.
Omg I am the person in the garden, i have been rounded and now fwd. I can barely get my shoulder blades against the wall and not at all my head. I go to physio and she has me doing the wall and the pushing them back. One important question I have what mri called when dr told me a mushy bicep and torn rotator cuff, can i still do these carefully? They are pretty close to physio ones. Climb wall was another for my arms? Hope you seemNd answer! Thanks sooo much
Also, how do we do the angel wing exercises if we can't touch our hands to the door frame? Just "wing it" the best we can and work toward touching? Thanks.
If you can’t touch your fingers to the door frame, keep doing your best to stand with your arms in that L-shaped. That stretch alone will put you in the right direction to slowly start to raise your arms to make the full W shape if you will. Hope that helped
Thank you for inquiring. She is very old (well into her 90s, in cat years). She is no longer grooming herself and her coat is matted and the knots needed to be removed. Hence, the patchy look.
(You've prompted me to buy kitty a new box/replacing her 2nd, your kitty looks shaven, on the mend no dought)... I'm just getting over a yr long groin injury, oh how it hurts as it returns, sweet pain/I guess 😰!
At my gym I watch some women doing arm exercises using dumbells, like 2lbs dumbbells, which weight less than their purse!! Why bother, just use their purse instead....or practice using a Venti sugar drink from Starbucks....just saying.
Do these 4 strength exercises daily. Let me know the results. [Stick through to at least 3:18 when a special guest appears.]
Its worth a try Margret i think ill give it a go.
'Special guest' 😂😂😂

I love when our cats hear us, come to see what’s happening. Then, “Oh just exercise”. Then they mosey on. I like seeing your cat and the exercises. 😊

Robin, so true! Thank you, Margaret, also from me!
Wow!!! So awesome. Love the isolation of each gluteus muscle. Found out rather quickly that one side is very weak compared to the other. Thank you for all you do!
Glad you liked it!

Glad you found the video humorous and informative.
Our cats have a cat flap so they can go outside and do their exercises ;-)
No i watched it only to see what u saw😆
Thanks so much for these exercises! After just a few days, and ever since, they have made a tremendous difference in my ability to sit, stand, and walk comfortably, without the feeling of weakness and the aches I was feeling for many months.

Wonderful for anyone spending too much time on a phone/computer each day. Many thanks!
Great! The simple four! Even great to modify for clients in chairs/seated. Thank you!
These are fantastic, Margaret. Very simple and easy to follow. A bonus that some are great for posture as well!
Glad you like them!

From her other videos, I'm guessing 1 set of about 10 done slowly.
Thanks!
Hi Sharon. Many thanks!

I don't fully understand the single butt squeeze or what the stool is for. Great targeted exercises though, thank you.

Which butt cheek do I squeeze when lifting my foot to the stool?
Do I squeeze my butt cheek(s) continuously throughout the movement?
Thanks!!
Your videos are wonderful. TY
You are so welcome!
Will practice these! Of course my favorite part was the cat 🐈!😄
Thanks Margaret!
Margaret, you didn't say how many reps to do of each (except all day for the butt muscles).
The "talking" cat! Hysterical!
Thanks
Thank you!
You are welcome.
Ohhhhhh, love the kitty!
❤😻same😻❤
Thanks SO MUCH FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE EFFORTS to be honest & helpful!! 👍👍👍👍👍😁
Glad it was helpful!
thank you doctor god bless you
I love when pets come in to join.
Could you clarify the glute muscle exercise using the step stool?
Thank you.

@@l.a.w.79 Thanks for the clarification.
Morning I think I. Like this exercise looks easy for me tks
Thank you! That helps me alot!
What is the stool for? It seemed to just stop abruptly without explanation.
It did show her using the stool for a very short amount of time. It is used for single butt cheek squeezes. Watch the video again.
Great daily exercises! Many commenters asked for (1) clarification on doing the butt squeeze using the stool (incomplete demonstration) and (2) number of reps per exercise. Margaret, would you please respond to these comments.
Great video!! Thanks!,,❤️💐

Awesome!!!
How many repetitions each?
I thoroughly appreciated the feline comic relief. Thanks for these daily exercises.
Love your pad...😀...please advise where you got the step stool, gracias.
How long should the loop be for waking up the rotator cuff muscles?
Thank you for your very helpful video. It would be great if you get started a bit quicker
These are great. I had rotator cuff repair 4 months ago. Are these good exercises for my rehab? My physical therapist has released me but he said I should do shoulder exercises daily for the rest of my life
Wonderful video to add to my daily exercises. Thank you
How do you do the last butt squeeze exercise. You never explained what the stool was for when doing the exercise.
She explained, while she demonstrated, that raising the one leg helps isolate the glute on the opposite side for a squeeze.
Your videos have helped keep me 'on.the Task'..😎..it Really.helped me.when you.Reminded us Not to let our Shoulders Collapse In when doing certain moves And to 'Start Small'
if Thats All you can!🙏💖🌿💞
Lol! The litter box! And great exercises that I can do at work
Glad you like them!
Do you have exercises for hip osteoporosis?
Your cat's cameo made me smile. :)
Would it be possible for you to show exercises for KYPHOSIS?
Hi Margaret, can these exercises be done 8 weeks post T7 compression fracture. I have just been diagnosed with osteoporosis.
Mercie de votre rencenement
Bienvenue
Your exercises are excellent, really appreciate them. Did you have Speech Therapy as a child? There’s still things you can do for articulation & crispness of consonants.
One therapist to another.
really - are we jealous of this lady - need to tear her down
I have to laugh 😹. Your cat stole your exercise video! Love your videos, got your book. I hope you’re cat found the litter box
Thank you. She eventually found her litter box!
Cats are smart, no need to even train them for that!
Does anyone know the names of these exercises?
Some good exercises here. I would add hip hinges.

I so wish I knew these exercises before I tore 2 rotator cuffs.
Hi there, Thank you! Is your kitty OK? Looks like a lot of hair missing.
Thank you for inquiring. She is very old (well into her 90s, in cat years). She is no longer grooming herself and her coat is matted and the knots needed to be removed. Hence, the patchy look.
@@margaretmartinpt Oh I'm glad she is OK. Thank you for being a nice person and for your reply!
Please include your cat 🐱 more often .. adds an element of fun
Ahh me too I'm a cat 🐱 person, thank you Margaret!
You are welcome. Thank you for your comment.
(You've prompted me to buy kitty a new box/replacing her 2nd, your kitty looks shaven, on the mend no dought)... I'm just getting over a yr long groin injury, oh how it hurts as it returns, sweet pain/I guess 😰!
Great exercises - thanks!
You should check your pot plants in case the cat used them instead of the litter box 😉
How to do butt squeze?
At my gym I watch some women doing arm exercises using dumbells, like 2lbs dumbbells, which weight less than their purse!! Why bother, just use their purse instead....or practice using a Venti sugar drink from Starbucks....just saying.
How lucky some folks are. To have a formal education, and a recessed doorway.
Who have ever think of it!!?!!

Nice cat....
Thank you! 😊
Who caes abt a litterbox😂
Wish camera zoomed in closer and you did more of each. Little too much explaining and not enough doing
Thank you
