yeah that noise is horrid if you're wearing headphones... what mic setup do you have on the camera you were using? It'd be strange for it to pick up the lens autofocus noise if you were using an external mic. Maybe if you can... adjust the microphone sensitivity in the camera menu?

I stopped by and got to meet Mr. Big Boost himself. absolutely a great guy, he was more than happy to show me around the shop. I really enjoy watching the videos. being able to see the cars in the videos in person was a mini dream come true. if yall are ever in texas I'd be glad to help yall out with whatever I can.

@ Big Boost, the surface RA of roughness of the head and the block has to be at a specific spec for a head to seal to a cometic head gasket properly. That does require a quality machine shop for the metal on metal on metal to work right. However I too have not seen copper gasket sealer cause a failure on a metal gasket, I just don't personally use it.

Jesus christ this is gonna put down some power. Now, I dont dislike drift.. not at all. Its just, were I doing a build that was destined for something other than highway hunting, Id be going more for a track car. Even if it was a 2J swapped 240, which kinda has sideways written all over it.. Id go for a track car. Real life comparison would be something like FIA GT racing, or the GT classes in the current IMSA series, or really any kind of racing like that.. I think right now, if I had just unlimited funds to build a track car, honestly.. I think I would build an R32 Skyline, do a built RB26 Twin Turbo, shoot for like, 550whp, and just go apeshit on the suspension. Fit some Ohlins suspension components, and just full adjustable and beefy as fuck everything. anyway, im just rambling. This car is gonna be sweet dude, Im sure Im not the only one here who is saying, Fuck Im jealous bro lol!

Head gaskets don't just "explode". Now if it blew out and hydro locked the engine and blew the head off that would make more sense. And I'm pretty sure a 3 cylinder is not capable of putting out 3000 hp. That is just fucking nuts

Pro tip: stand on the other side of the engine when you're doing the bolts on camera left. You can use the length of the head as leverage when torquing :)
Regarding the cometic gasket, when I called them about copper spray for my 2jz they also said not to use copper spray. When I asked other people why the most comfortable answer I got was that cometic spray the gasket with a thin layer or rubber. The copper spray contains acetone which will start to eat away at that gasket layer or lift it off of the metal. Not sure how applicable that is as the acetone evaporates super quickly. Might be why they say one way over the other. I ended up not putting on any in case it leaks, then I can still warranty it or add the copper spray after. Keep up the build!
Hi Adam do you find that the more that you have a better understanding of your car you are increasing your inability when you drive. PS no body is perfect i dose not matter if you make mistakes in life as long as you learn from them.
I know my camera had some weird lens audio noises. That's why I get for using auto focus :( - Don't worry it won't happen again!
