  • Becoming a software engineer has been a dream of mine since my early 20s. Growing up outside of the tech space in a blue collar family and taking a non-traditional approach to breaking into tech has taught me a lot about the ups and downs of the tech world. From getting my first job to becoming a lead software engineer here's my journey to becoming a software engineer.

I really liked your story dude, I'm trying to shift my career towards software engineering myself. I spent most of my life tinkering with computer hardware but it wasn't until 3 years ago where I decided to try programming. It all started because I wanted to make something for my phone. Cheers

Thanks for the videos, I have been watching your videos. I love to code but don't want to do it full time. I am currently working in IT but looking to move into a higher position. I like to code, Linux, and system admin stuff. How can I get a job closer to coding without coding? Would you recommend DevOps, cloud engineer, or something else?

Thanks a ton! The roles you listed all require some sort of programming to an extent. I recommend maybe systems administrator roles possibly? I’d say give it a look and let me know what you think!
