That's great especially how you talked with your interviewer about implementing data sovreignty into your project, those deep topic converstaions are the best way to prove your knowledge. I'm also a cloud engineer at 19 so I'm glad to see there are other following the same path!!
Absolutely! Also, I knew I couldn’t be the only one. Are you on LinkedIn?
how hard is it to learn cloud engineering?
@@k4g7 Before cloud, everything was on-premise all the servers. So a lot of cloud engineers were previous sys admins. But coming from a coding background, Cloud was used a lot in software engineering because that’s where all the apps are run. So the transition was easy. You could go from helpdesk, software engineering, networking, sys admin into Cloud
This helps a lot, as someone who is starting at a very similar age with similar goals, it's amazing to see what you've achieved!!!
Keep going!!!!
I will! Good luck towards your goals as well!
Yeah, start now, dont give up. I am a 45yr old electrical engineer switching to cloud, its hard to study at this age. Not as sharp as i was at 20.
Nice work man, keep it up, you'll go far!
Dude, you’re smart, congratulations, I’ve went through your video uploads on your channel seeing all the training you’ve done and it’s really amazing to see that your hard work paid off, very happy for you 👏👏👏
Thanks man!!
Absolute legend, you motivate me to be so much better.. Congrats man keep going !!
Thank you!! No plans of stopping any time soon ;)
Congrats! I just started learning about cloud computing and I’m excited to start this long journey to be a cloud engineer.
Please do videos on your step-by-step roadmaps to get here.
Congrats on getting through and showing up for yourself and impressing them. They deserve you and your work mentality! Keep it up. Could you go more into the interview process please? I feel like I still struggle trying to inlude the IT vernacular into my regular language during interviews
Of course! I will definitely make a video about interviews soon
You amaze me with every video, I'm really happy for you.
Thank you very much!
That’s awesome!! I’m 45 and trying to wrap my old brain around some of this new stuff… good for you!!
That’s awesome man! If you have any questions, I am happy to help!
Just wow, the drive and desire you have for learning is what a lot of people need now our days and you help show people that its possible. Congratulations. Keep climbing that ladder of success...
Thank you sir🫡🫡
I got my aws practitioners cert last month and I've been applying non-stop and I know I probably need more certs to increase my chances but i just gotta say that this video definitely pushes me to do more so thank you and congrats!! you deserve it!
Keep going!! You got this!
You need the solutions architect at least. Practitioner won't get you a job. And projects
Great Video from an honest person! Unlike these so called "become cloud engineer in little as 3 months" videos i see influencers making aren't very realistic that nothing more than click bait for views. Those are the people to steer clear away from. The key to success is "job shadowing" different teams while working in a support role which I don't see a lot of people doing these days and glad to see that you did that. I'm that's exactly what Network Chuck did before he gotten his CCNA as he shadowed the network team which is how he gotten hands on experience and became a Network Engineer without a degree. Having a homelab also helps with practical hands-on experience.
Thank you!!
Awesome video. Definitely looking to connect
Congrats I am your 1000th subscriber!
Woohoo! Thank you!!
Nice Man! Trying to land one at 19 too. Right now working as a Site Support Specialist
Apply Apply Apply!! Good luck man, you will get one no doubt!
Just came from your how you studied for the CCNA video. GOOD JOB MAN, I'M PROUD OF YOU. Keep up the good work and I wish you the best in every aspect of your life
Thanks man!!
goog man :) happy for you bro
Thank you!!
Congrats man! I was so useless when I was 19 unlike yourself 😂.
Lool still useless here 😂
😅😅
Wow…great future ahead man 🙌
Thank you!
With 19 years! That is awesome
Thanks you!
This video is really inspiring. I don't have a degree as well. I am hoping to switch careers and have been interested in learning AWS cloud and infrastructure. Mind sharing some helpful courses and exam preparations to get certified for AWS?
Of course! I recommend starting with the cloud practitioner! I have a video on my channel that goes over everything I used to study for it!
Well done👍🏻
Thank you!
Congratulations Tyler
Thank you!
19? You carry yourself like you're 30. Bright future for this kid.
Thank you!
Damn bro this is mad inspiring. Congrats im going for ccna azure AWS saa Linux and vm ware. So smart for your age wish I knew this at your age
Thanks man! You will crush it👊
Damn bro good job. I'm 19 and just starting trying to learn Cloud Engineering stuff. Atm I'm going to start learning Linux, then Bash, and then AZ-900 and AZ-204 certificates.
Go get ‘em🫡🫡
thank you, i am starting my cloud engineer learning at 38 years old. i have no background in IT. started at cisco acaemy. what type advice can you give me else?
Love to hear it! I have a few pieces of advice, 1. Never tell yourself you’re “just not smart enough”. 2. Focus on turning studying into a habit (Atomic Habits is a great book to help). 3. Have grit, being able to continue to do something day in and day out even if it’s hard or boring is a great skill. 4. Market yourself! Post your projects on LinkedIn! I have a whole video on tips to get a job in it (It’s named something like “Tech with no degree” or something like that) if you want to hear me talk more on the subject. You got this man!
Congrats! What did you use to learn terraform
A kodekloud course and docs!
L literally have the same story (except i dont have job ). I am 19 (no degree ) , ( about to get 20 next month ) , I have aws solution architect assoicate certificate , few aws badges and now preparting for aws devops professional exam . I have one year of experience in cloud , and software develpoment , I also wish to land cloud job in 2024 . I guess devops professional certificatee will be a ace , since it required experiece of 2 + years . Any advise , and do share you social handles .
Sounds like you’re doing all the right things! The only think I would recommend is making sure to post projects frequently on LinkedIn and apply for any cloud job you can (even if you’re not ”qualified”
Please which companies hire Cloud engineers which companies can we apply for job
Hey tyler can you share all the labs, workshops or projects you have made from?
Most of my projects are not really from anywhere. For example, my big terraform project is just something I build by reading through docs. Aws has some great labs posted as well as kodekloud
Congratulations
Thank you!
do you have to do much traveling as a cloud engineer?
Not a ton, I was flown out to HQ for my first week though as I am the only member of the ops team not in HQ.
Duration of course
I expect the CKA to take me ~5 months
do we need certification yo get a job??
I would say so, especially if you do not have much experience. They also can show a drive to learn which is helpful as well!
Are you familiar with the kubernetes
The CKA is actually the next cert which I am studying for, so I am kind of familiar. Definitely not an expert though…
@@ZeroDegreeTech Awesome once you get a decent grasp on Kubernetes your knowledge on the could infrastructure will expand immensely.
im 29 and still trying to get into the industry, unfortunately when you were born, your country was invading my country at that time and kind of ruined my future, but also made me get exposed to freedom.
Why would you even include the last part, why are you guilt tripping him for something he could not affect in any way.
not guilt tripping just saying, I said it also before he was born so that excludes him from it. Just absurd reality how one person can be lucky enough in a good region vs someone born in the worse possible place on earth. I wish I was born in a western country into an educated family and guided. Its not a guilt trip and if anyone understand it that way idk what to say more than this.@@baseupp12
Name checks out
Hello dear, glad to hear you are cloud engineer at age 19. Lots thing can learn from you to become cloud engineer at me in age 40
It’s never too late to get into tech!! You got this💯
Future multi millionaire you will be
I hope you’re right!
How many months it will take .
What will take?
@@ZeroDegreeTechyea how many months does it take to get the 4 or 5 certs you started out with
@Aburtyuesx just shy of 2 years! But if I’m not counting the cka (most recent and did not have when I was hired) a little less than a year and a half, so like 17 months
Can i see your redacted resume bro?
What do you mean redacted?
@@ZeroDegreeTech redacted resume means post it somewhere (or show in video) with your personal info removed so you don’t reveal something sensitive. So remove any phone numbers, addresses, last names, workplace locations/names, etc.
I get it if you don’t want to - but it would be a huge help to me! I’ve currently got mostly certifications and projects, and i would love to see how you structured yours and how much detail you added with certain things
@ultravioletiris6241 I would be happy to, if your on LinkedIn, shoot me a quick dm (@tylermay605) and I’ll send it over!
Wow that’s amazing they even considered your application without a degree.
It’s not super uncommon when you have experience but I was surprised it happened without a degree or a lot of experience
I.T is mostly experience and Certification driven. I have no degree either and I work as a Red Hat Linux Admin. I taught myself Linux tinkering around in my homelab with. I dropped out of college as I learned everything on my own. Degrees aren't usually required. Typical its listed as "Preferred" with Or Equivalent Experience. Many times, the degree is not listed at all especially for a lot of Cloud jobs. Most Job descriptions are nothing more than a wish list as rarely anyone meet 100% of the requirements.
