I like to think that canonically this is probably how the fight with O.Dio went, The Kid and Mad Dog against the entire gang ducking and weaving through the alleyways to stay out of sight of that damn Minigun while picking the Crazy Bunch off one at a time
@@massgunner4152 Dude, O. Dio, as well as every other alternate form, exist entirely because of Odio utilizing the statues to time travel. It’s clear as day shown in the game.
Theres also an alternate scene where sundown steps out of the bar but mad dog seemed to have ran off, only to quickly come back No idea what triggers it, possibly saying “ ...” instead of “of course kid” when leaving the bar, but i haven’t seen anyone else get the scene
it triggers by not talking , since i fucked up the fight the first time since i figured out way too late how to stop O.Dio and the second time decided to be silent, changing the cinematic.
When I learned that you could spare Mad Dog, I booted up my auto save to punish O. Dio again to let Mad Dog and Kid’s dance continue. I adore their dynamic,
To be fair, it's such an easy fight, and you don't really have much in the way of healing items in this chapter anyway, that there's little reason to bother opening the extra menu to see if Flee can be selected.
I had no idea how to set traps so I just fought the boss like this and won first try lol. I still don’t know what the traps even are that they were talking about. The game really is easy until the difficulty spike at the very end.
You mad lad of a chad. Well done, but the traps are from the npcs that are in the saloon during the trapping phase, from there you can give them the items you find like the carrots, the painting, the Molotov cocktails, even horse poop as well. But if you did it the hard way, then props to you
At 13:20 the bartender describes O. Dio as "He never slept, they said. Never slept and would never die." Pretty glaring reference to Judge Holden from Blood Meridian, who's an order of magnitude or two scarier than O. Dio. Like, wow.
shame the choice with Mad Dog is so hidden because sparing him feels so much more poignant. Almost wish he didn't show up in the post credits and they just left it there, knowing the two will always be in each other's lives, never able to kill the other
The hidden ending is actually at the end, fleeing from Mad Dog after the O. Dio fight triggers this second encounter with him instead. Dog tames O. Dio in this ending too.
All that is separate from this, tho. I took out everyone but O. Dio with traps, and was able to flee from Mad Dog and duel him in the epilogue, too. He even tamed O. Dio.

I like the idea of it, but that also means that everyone at Success was utterly incompetent at setting up traps.

@@Teknanam Alternatively taking out o.Dio’s men with the traps is part of the massive firefight

Debatable. The exact mechanics of Odio’s time travel are unknown.

@@massgunner4152 That doesn’t disprove my point. We don’t know how the mechanics work in relation to O.Dio’s supposed origin.

It's defintely cool and intense on fighting all the members of Crazy Bunch without the townsfolk help.
That's what real man's gotta do

Freaking badass.
Edit: Holy crap, I didn't know you could spare Mad Dog! I'll remember that for subsequent plathroughs!
11:16-11:26 Mad Dog: Haha. Nice technique you got there. Now watch ME do it.
I just beat this boss and my first thought was to see what it would be like without any traps. Thank you for satisfying this specific wonder of mine.
Nothing changed. The secret came from sparing Mad Dog. Which I already saw Vinny do.
Is there any trophy connected to this??? Or u just spare mad dog and that's it.
@@SpecialJay525It doesn't seem so. It's just one of the many little secrets the game has. The trophies actually want you to set all the traps
Officer Joseph Dio, the sole survivor of the Battle of Little Big Horn
Wild west history be like:
Honestly you can treat this chapter as that or alternative history since in lore O.Dio was part of General Custers Calvary unit
You can check "The Batte of Little Big Horn"
This chapter is awesome.
The Kid and Mad Dog might be my favourite "Live A Live" characters.
What an epic duo.

IT'S A HIGH NOON DUEL, SUPER FAMICON STYLE

Oh well, I wanted to do a 2nd Playtrough anyway
