IMPORTANT NOTE Epoxy resin is toxic while it is curing, and safety precautions must be taken. Wear proper protective equipment (nitrile gloves, long sleeves, full-face respirator, and apron) and Work outside or in a well-ventilated area. Do not allow epoxy resin to touch your skin or be inhaled through fumes or dust. If you get some on your skin, wash it twice well with soap and water. Always read the safety information!
What is the water/glycerin ratio?
EQUAL PARTS
@littlee how much did you measure for this cup?
@@tinaolimpio2487 Good question
@@tinaolimpio2487 For my Venti 24 OZ cups, I do 1/4 Glycerin and 3/4 water. It comes out great regardless :)
@@dominiquefesta8571 what about for an 18oz cup?
I make little round flat stoppers out of uv resin on a silicone mat to plug the hole then cover with more uv resin to seal down, sand and do a full layer of epoxy on the turner.
Thank you so much! I was having the hardest time sealing the bottom.
If you live close to a Harbor Freight your DrillMaster rotary tool actually costs less than 10 dollars there. And you can use coupons.
I bought one, and use it every day for my cups!! Such a bargain.
Thanks will go there
Ooo thank u!!!
Thats funny. Its actually one of the stores I have in my small town
You’re a life saver. I just bought a rotary tool from another hardware store and it cost me $65. Returning it tomorrow and hitting up harbor freight!
You are absolutely amazing!! I came to learn one thing and got a bag full of knowledge. Especially with using the heat gun to do the heat transfer. Wow. Thank you for sharing
Whaaa? I was just doing research today on how to do these! Thanks so much!! 🤩😍
it's so cute. I've watched multiple videos and everyone only drilled one hole so I was wondering why you drilled two, then after watching it makes completes sense to use two holes, as well as the epoxy on the bottom vs UV resin. thx for sharing
I wanted to know how to put pictures on my snow globe tumbler. Most people show how to make the tumblers but not how to out pictures on. This was the absolute best video for me. Thanks for making a great video.
I found your video one year later, but I'm in love with those PRO-TIPS!!!!!!!! TY SO MUCHO. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I buy the gorilla glue epoxy at walmart. Its in a syringe. Much easier than the epoxy in the bottles. It sets in 4 mins n ab 20 mins it’s completely hardened. I stick tape in side or over the hole n then epoxy or those clear rubber wall hangers by scotch. But the glue I never thought ab! Smart! Love the video!
Hey, do you mind sharing where you find the tumbler to work with ?
@@JenniferHernandez-zd3xv a month late but I ordered mine on Amazon and got different colored tops with straws .. reasonable price too
Great video I’m learning so much, never knew HTV could be used as well.
Oh I have been struggling with these and the second small hole made such a difference!! Thank you for that tip, it made things so much easier
Happy I could help!
I love that you use all kinds of beauty tools for your crafts 😍
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm so glad you're back doing new things. When I started making cups you were a big inspiration for me. I appreciate it.
OMG thank you for this video!! I had no idea I could utilize HTV vinyl
OMGoodness I want that cup!
I was told to dull the tips of the drill bit and you won’t have so much stuff all around the hole. It worked for me.
Adding the water to the glycerin is a double edged sword. While the mix does make for a nice suspension for the glitter if you freeze the cup (to keep your drink cold longer) you risk cracking it because water expands when frozen. Glycerin does not expand when frozen (it also stays frozen longer than water), but once you add that water in there all bets are off.
If you leave a small air bubble, you should be okay on the expansion part of freezing.
Have you ever tested to see how long it would stay before water start coming out ? Does it lasts years or what ? I don’t wanna do this myself and have customers complain
Do you always epoxy the whole cup?? I was told not to epoxy them it doesn't stick ? Or it cracks or something 🤔
I love how you’re so down to earth, (explaining the sideways view) this is why i follow you
Thanks so much! Perfect for holiday gifts!
This helped me so much! I was wondering the best way to seal these tumblers. I love this tumbler you made 😍! Thank you for making this video.
Just ordered a few of these tumblers from hogg. Do they still leak from the top? Anything I can do to seal it?
That’s so pretty 🥺🥺 I never knew you could use HTV on a cup😭
Same! My mind is blown right now 😮🤯
Hey there 👋 do you still recommend this cup? I’ve read the reviews and people say these leak. I’m having trouble finding a cup that won’t leak .
That’s what I want to know.
With the glycerin does it end up getting moldy? Would distilled water be better to prevent mold?
Yes
I like your voice over. Its easier to understand you than when you are wearing your mask.
Which vinyl do you think is better for double wall acrylic tumblers? Heat transfer vinyl or regular adhesive vinyl? Or do they hold up pretty well equally?
Amazing work! What machine are you using to print your graphics? I would really appreciate
That looks really nice
Hello I'm making my first snow tumbler , but my glycerin and water mixture isn't seeping to the bottom of the cup to mix up the glitter . Does that mean I over stuffed it with glitter ? Any suggestions with be appreciated .
Awesome tutorial! I love how beautiful the cup turned out! 💖 This technique helped me so much, now I'm gunna make a few! 😎
Loved this tutorial! I love the final look!!
TFS 😊, I’m going to definitely try all you techniques ❤️
I’ve read in groups that the epoxy on plastic cups causes toxicity.. does this not apply because this is double walled? Also have you used baby oil? What’s the difference between that and the glycerin?
Double walled is okay.
Baby oil and water do not mix at all so you’ll always have a void somewhere in the mix. The water and glycerine mix will have glitter suspension throughout the entire mix.
Beautiful, I cant wait to try one of these lol
Thank you so much for this!!!! It is exactly what I was looking for!
Does the acrylic ever fog up from heat gun
I like that spoon. Where you get it?
What can you do if you don’t make that smaller air hole and have already added the glitter and water/glycerin mixture?
I didn’t catch when you put the liquid in … I’ve watched it and fw it rv it… 😂 should I add liquid the bits of glitter and do on rotating?
Hi!! I just bought some double wall cups to make the snow globes effect with them but once I started pouring the mixture it started to leak at the top of the cup. Which brand do you recommend to purchase that will not leak?! I need help!!! Please!!!
@jeanette Torres I know this was probably directed solely at the RUclipsr but I make a lot of these and personally I have found that the Starbucks cups are great probably the best but they’re very pricey and if your making these for personal use then I’d choose the brand Maars as it is definitely a close second and quite a bit cheaper I find them on Amazon and (3) of them either clear or with cute colored tops and straws their only $24-$28 so max $7 per cup and they’re very good quality! Good luck and happy crafting
@@deborahxayasith71 thanks!! I’ll look them up!!!
@@deborahxayasith71 not sure if you answered the question do the Maars brand leak at the top when pouring in the solution?
@@jaliawia7463 no I’ve never had one leak ever I made one into a glitter tumbler for my 17 year old daughter about 6 months ago and she uses daily and has never had a problem I’ve made probably about 20+ of the maars cups without problems if you have any issues reach out to Amazon or the maars company and they’ll replace them immediately hun hope this helps
Where did you get the scale from
I may try making some of these
It’s very pretty
Do you recommend to do the epoxy on the bottom of the cup or is it optional?
where do you get the tumblers from
I'm so glad I saw this! I've been wondering what kind of tool can I use to do this. Thank you Summer! I can always count on you and your videos ❤❤❤
I made my first snow globe tumbler. I love it! However, my glitter pretty much stays in place. It does move but not a lot. What did I do wrong?
What did you use as liquid mix? Glycerin/water mix?
Kelly Forsyth yes. I did 50/50 & it was like that so I added more water. Could it be too much glitter?
I'm going to be ordering my pictures from your website to use on my Starbucks snowglobe tumblers do I have to add epoxy or are they ready to be put on with put having to seal them ???
Great tutorial and your nails are fantastic! I can't pick anything up with nails that long, lol.
For the heat transfer vinyls, can we use a hair dryer instead for a heat gun?
Thank you so much ! Very Helpful video
I love this project! But is it safe to use epoxy on acrylic tumblers?
You can on double walled acrylic.
As long as it is FDA compliant epoxy, it is safe.
Great turtorial 😀
Do you prep the cup before adding decals & epoxy ?
How is the durability of that tumbler? I know a lot of them are saying that they brake easy. Thanks
I’ve been wanting to try these but had so much trouble with the story board I’ve been scared to try these!
Which drill bit r u using to make tho Hole?
Plz And TIA
Where is your coffee stir from that you are using? I also have one that I bought at a trade show and would love to purchase more!!!
This is so pretty!!
Would you say that these tumblers are as high quality/thick as the Starbucks one? I’ve been trying to find blank ones.
They are kind of delicate. I’ve cracked a couple when they’ve rolled off the table ... I can only imagine how much easier they are to crack when they’re heavier filled with water etc. I say they can be ok as long as they aren’t dropped.
Does the glue gun glue hold as well as the epoxy type plugs? I've only seen people use the epoxy ones until now but I reallllly don't want to use that.
You have to epoxy over the glue stick plug.
Lesson learned tonight... make sure the acrylic tumbler doesn't have holes in the top. 🤦♀️ Don't try the Dollar Tree ones just an FYI.
I just ordered some from dollar tree! 😭 I did one from dollar tree and it leaked! I'm going to try to seal it though
Yep, I have a whole case sitting here, trying to figure out what to do with them since they leak 🤦♂️
@@Mycrazylife66 u can just make regular glitter tumblers. (Glitter/ decorate the outside), or sell the tumblerd you have to someone else.
Did you ever find one that works without leaking ?
Does anyone know where to buy the stoppers and which size? 🙏 needs to ship to sweden
Its good to see you back making more tutorials. Love everything you do.
Thank you for this video
I so can’t Waite to do this one summer. Love your face
How do you know your only drilling through the one hole. Is there something I can look for?
Where did u order these tumblers from ? So they come in bu like ? Can it be shipped to the Bahamas?
Very nice tutorial!
Thank u for showing how to do this....now I know
Thanks for the side explanation.
I have seen some folks do baby oil. Is this better?
I have been reading reviews on Amazon saying the tumblers leak from the top once the solution is in it. Any suggestions for stopping that?
This happens when you do not extract the air from the glass for at least 5 hours after adding the glitter and liquid, the air exerts a lot of pressure inside the glass and leaks at the top and bottom.
I thought epoxy couldn't go on plastic cups? Was that a special kind?
If you are using FDA compliant epoxy, it can go on hard plastic. If the plastic can flex when squeezed the epoxy will crack so it isn't recommended on those kinds of plastics.
@@TD-lq1kt interesting, thank you for letting me know
Anything double walled, plastic or whichever else, can be epoxied. Anything single walled, you cannot use epoxy.
I love this
I’ve tried doing these twice with the maars tumblers and they leak around the top as soon as i add water 😩 what am I doing wrong🤷🏾♀️
same here!!!!
its hit or miss! I had a 7 cup order and out of 6, 4 leaked so far
Im not sure if I should order more and hope they dont leak!!!! or just give a refund.
What brand epoxy do you use? & how many coats? I’ve been searching for a video like this forever and these are the exact tumblers I have too :)
Where did you get those tumblers?
@@emmareyesxox you can get them at Michael’s and Amazon
How would you get the pink strawberry shake shade what can I use?
Curious as to why you plug it vs the hit glue like you do for the small one?
Rachel's Randoms I think because the hole is bigger there’s more of a chance that the hot glue will drip into and down the hole.
Simply Amazing and great work ! Thx for sharing.
What are the kids after and glycerin ratio? Can you give the exact amount?
Do you sand the outside before applying your vinyl?
Only if it is necessary. If you do sand you will have to add another coat of epoxy after the vinyl to get rid of the sand marks
I’m reading comments that these leak on top when you try to make snow globes, have you ran into any issues?
I tried it on 3 cups and they all leaked. I used all the different liquid methods as well.
What happens if you don't use food grade glycerin?
My glitter always gets stuck and the solution never goes to the bottom. Is there a solution for this?
I put glitter first shake the glycerin and really don't fill it that much. Just up to the first level of the cup inside
Handheld back massager and vibrate it down
This happens when you do not extract the air from the glass for at least 5 hours after adding the glitter and liquid, the air exerts a lot of pressure inside the glass and the glitter accumulates.
How do you get glitter to float on top?
Is the heat transfer the same as iron on or no ?
Yes
If you dont have a scale for measuring you epoxy can you just make sure you use equal amounts.
Not all epoxy is by weight
Read the instructions on what you have
@@rachelsrandoms1670 if it is by weight do I have to have a scale. And where would I buy one
@@joanndoss7002 i use a syringe for each part
Love it
How can you keep the glitter from clumping at the top so much? Just add less glitter? Or less solution?
This happens when you do not extract the air from the glass for at least 5 hours after adding the glitter and liquid, the air exerts a lot of pressure inside the glass and the glitter accumulates.
Hey! I made a tumbler like similar to this last night and then it started leaking at the rim where the top goes. Any idea how to fix it with throwing the entire cup away?
Nice!!
Can I make a larger hole for larger filler?
My tumbler has developed some condensation. Can I drill a tiny hole to dry it then seal?
WOW this looks beautiful.!! Can i order from you.?
Arnt those vacuum double walled cups?
What kind of HTV do you use?
How much solution do you use? Is there such thing as too much or too little??
It is all personal preference on how much glitter flow you want. The more water the faster the flow of glitter
