Can you add TVS iQube in the mix for better comparison between newbie companies vs Old guards? Just waiting for Ather to release another scooter with a bigger battery. I think a real world range of more than 120kms per charge should be good considering the already impressive build quality of the existing products.
I think, by the time Ola solves those terrible bugs/glitches, Ather will have a newer variant, competitive with the current Ola.. Then it will be interesting to see who wins..
Hopefully it comes very soon and forces Ola to be more competitive with their service and features promised. Currently Ola has no actual competition which will make them worry about loosing customers.
I love ather but unless and until they reduce the price , presumably ola fixed all the issues , ola will be a winner in couple of years , just sharing my thoughts
I would buy the Ather at once if they introduced a longer-range model. Impressive quality and tech. Ola is ambitious and sacrificing quality which is a red flag.
Ola's got a better quality suspension, better quality dash, better battery, better motor, better pricing. Build quality is good too. Newer models don't have the panel gaps issue. Software is only going to improve here on. Ather surely wins here.
Ather wasn't bug free initially. Also they had no competition at all initially. They took their time to fix. People just wanted to get their ola scooters soon.
@@MrBunny53 Well one way a product/company wins is by under promising and over delivering which leave the end user impressed beyond the set expectations. Fair and really good comparison! Ather has been in the market for sometime now and that experience shows! Ola being a newer company and pumping out these many vehicles, with such an agressive timeline is showing its problems. As it is an EV, most of these issues can be solved through OTAs, and we should really lookout on how the Ola S1 pro will improve after an year or so. Even if Ather brings out a newer vehicle, it'll be really hard to crack this price range with these kinds of numbers! Anyways, the future is promising with all these performance EVs coming out, including the upcoming Simple One(if the manage to deliver on their promise) and other EV brands!
Great review, as always! There should have been some coverage on the charging socket types of both these scooters. When it comes to public charging, Ather can be charged on their own network only due to their proprietary socket. I am not sure what socket OLA uses. Manufacturers should work on a standardized socket such as CCS2 in cars to enable easy charging e-scooters on public infrastructure.
I loved the test ride of Ather it feels so stable and smooth to ride. Build quality is top notch wish it priced it close to Ola S1. My only concern is charging as I live in a apartment which doesn't have EV charging infra. Since our usage is very low barely 6-10 kms a day. Ather company is more serious when it comes to its product portfolio, quality check and overall expansion. No overhype, just focused products. They're selling scooters since 2017 and I don't hear any of them catching fire yet. Also the the way they expanding their charging stations named Ather grid... That's my opinion..
Ather was able to nail after staying 3 years in market and continously updating bugs and issues when eyes were not on electric product .Everyone know ather had similar issues during initial launch but they took 3 years to come at this stage .
Recently had an experience with the OLA that just made it a NO BUY. Anyone can sit on your scooter, enter the pin 5 times and the scooter gets locked. Takes 2 days for OLA support to go through the verification process and prove ownership to get it unlocked and accessible again.
@@Nitin5923 bro tell me honestly is it worth buying over ather ? My father won't listen he has booked this prototype. Coming from mechanical background I see this model as gimmick. The heating issue, sudden speed drop when battery power less. And the fake promise of range.

Has anyone tried starting Ola scooter using a pin, after a splash of water / rain? Wondering about the touch sensitivity as usually smartphones touch doesn't work if there is moisture on screen. They could have provided an electric fob instead (most cars have them) . That gives practicality
I expected OLA to release a fantastic product seeing their launch event 8 months ago... They claim they made a factory that can produce 1 crore scooters a year!! They had 1000s of crores of money, yet they can't release a proper fine-tuned scooter? Some issues are expected in a first generation product, but this is unacceptable level of issues and lack of promised features! Ather was able to release a good first gen product with much much less funding, and at a time when EVs were not even this popular or easy to make. How is it better without the keys if all early-stage customers have to unlock their scooter by entering the pin every time in a buggy touch screen? The whole point of a scooter is to be able to stop and go easily without any delays. Why is this critical feature of auto-unlock not yet ready? Few comments below pointed out that if someone tries to unlock the scooter wrongly 5 times, the scooter will get locked and it took him 2 days to resolve the issue by verifying identity with their customer support... How is such a product over-heating so much in a chilly day in Mumbai? Then how will it perform in most of India where it is significantly more hot? If the display is the only way to interact with the scooter, then it should at the minimum work smoothly without any lag when it is just coming out of factory. Otherwise, people will remember the traumatic experiences of how smartphones used to start slowing down after 2 years. The range being falsely shown is also a critical issue that can leave people stranded and lose their trust in all EVs. These all are issues that should have been fixed at the time of designing the scooter itself. Now coming to the production issues, there are people all over the internet complaining how they had to tow away their scooter on the first day of delivery due to major problems. This is bad experiences that will make people think all EVs are like that..
Problem with these scooters is that since they are battery powered, the amount of current taken out of the battery heats the battery up which in turns limits the current to a lower value where you wont get enough performance. These should come up with a battery cooler. Thats how they are gonna improve the range and the performance.

I am commenting here a year after this video has been released and what i wanted to ask is that are these bugs and glitches issue solved or still going on because we wanted to buy an electric scooter but the doubt is which one and my family obviously prefers ola especially because of its less price and more range Which one should we get?
Very well done review.. Above 80 km a day, range does not matter if daily commute is much lesser than that.. Reliability and safety are much more important
Well written and nicely done on the video! Please share my compliments with the writer. :) So happy to see an electric scooter comparison that explores so many angles. Made me hit the subscribe button!
I wanted more range and practicality at affordable pricing. Ather is a good product but tad too expensive. Quality may be great but still doesn't justify it's 1lakh+ price tag. That's why I choose the Ola. Few glitches I can live with but as rightly said, the communication and delivery issues still remain. I'm yet to get my scooter & when it get, I hope it works perfectly fine.
Dude Tata's compact SUV nexon EV has 250km range and is limited to 110 kmph or something. What you are expecting from a motorcycle is not going to happen for atleast 2 decades in India. Assuming you want a affordable price point.

No surprise the Splendours and Shines continue to clock massive numbers CoVid not withstanding. Salute the gasoline workhorses. 🙏🎉🎉
One of the best automotive comments I have seen.
I am commenting here a year after this video has been released and what i wanted to ask is that are these bugs and glitches issue solved or still going on because we wanted to buy an electric scooter but the doubt is which one and my family obviously prefers ola especially because of its less price and more range
Which one should we get?
Very good review...keep it up...AND why do we have 'regulators' on tax payers roles when buggy/dangerous products make it to markets..??
Tin can Maruti is still allowed isn't it?
Very well done review.. Above 80 km a day, range does not matter if daily commute is much lesser than that.. Reliability and safety are much more important
I am really confused which is suitable for me ( 60yrs.)
Kudos to @Ather Energy design team for creating a perfect scooter from scratch
I'm craving for simple energy one
What is simple energy one
@@jerishraj12 Simple Energy is a new EV manufacturer and they have their first EV named as Simple One
@@jerishraj12 electric scooter
It is a scam
Another nonsense
Once OLA addresses the production issues, it will be a tough competition for others.
Electric scooter companies should look to install charging stations as soon as possible in multiple locations metropolitan area
There couldn't have been a better person to talk about the Ola s1 Pro than Rishaad!
Great and honest content
Well written and nicely done on the video! Please share my compliments with the writer. :) So happy to see an electric scooter comparison that explores so many angles. Made me hit the subscribe button!
I wanted more range and practicality at affordable pricing. Ather is a good product but tad too expensive. Quality may be great but still doesn't justify it's 1lakh+ price tag.
That's why I choose the Ola. Few glitches I can live with but as rightly said, the communication and delivery issues still remain.
I'm yet to get my scooter & when it get, I hope it works perfectly fine.
BTS was awesome
So what u will suggest to buy a ola scooter or ather which one is best as service wise coustomer support
@10:43: Beautiful skyline of Mumbai
Ather every day!!...no busting...no fire..no bugs
It's a good thing that the ola takes some time to accelerate. I consider it to be safety feature. This scooter is not for racing.
Thank you auto car India for this worderfull video. Very honest and very straight forward.
awesome comparison , unbiased comparison and loved the way you were comapring all the segments
good job
Still waiting for a good Cruiser EV Bike (to compete with bikes such as Bajaj Avenger 250cc) with at least 250 km range and 150 kmph top speed.
Dude Tata's compact SUV nexon EV has 250km range and is limited to 110 kmph or something.
What you are expecting from a motorcycle is not going to happen for atleast 2 decades in India. Assuming you want a affordable price point.
Ather 450x can go upto 90 km top speed easily bro , it's capable even more but software restricts more upto safety issue of user
I booked on June 2021 rs. 500.00 and made the advance payment rs.20000.00 on September 2021 and finally i have completed the finances process on January. But still I didn't receive the vehicle. Now i have received a message that the finances partner won't able to provide finances as the delivery date is scheduled to may. But tata finances says that finances option has completed. They are sharing the screen shot also. Now i am going to pay the emi without receiving the vehicle. A complete cheating from Ola electric. Kindly any one help me with this issue...
I am very happy i did not buy ola and coming back to your channel just to comment down that 3 month ago I was in confusion to select my family 2nd ev after Okinawa....but during this video I realised that heating issue can be a big challenge in summer and with this note i avoided ola and went for Revolt.....today by listening the news of ola fire 🔥 it's clear that if there is issue and if u have researched properly at least in utube you will get the guidance for right decision...thanks alot Autocar you saved my money .....may God bless you guys for unbiased review videos u are offering to public 🙏
Waiting for this frm long time
Why electric vehicles are not look like traditional scooter like activa etc??
Yeah the same goes with Electric cars. They look pretty gae to me. Those curves, aaaarrrrrhhhhhhgggg. I don't like them. Why cant they make it look like their normal cars
Futuristic design!!!!There is no engine , no exhaust and many other things, its basically compact and neat!!
Ola is making people fool pls don't go for it either chose ather or chetak from bajaj
Happy with the review got a lot of info in the first five minutes - good job presenter/host!! 5/5
This Video is a completely unbiased video, Autocars' opinion is honest in this comparison, and it also airs some of the concerns Ola Scooter Owners face .
For OLA S1 pro, may I know what happens after 3 years or 40000 kms? Do we need to replace entire scooter? or just battery? what will be the expenses if we just need to change the battery after 40,000 kms?
Absolutely loved Rishaad's presentation. Three cheers :)
So you select forward but go reverse! That's interesting.
Ola reverse running problem is a very serious issue consumer are not experiment dummies and quality control issue is still faced by company like tesla so hats off to ather for such a quality product reliability over features.
A big thanks to auto car which helped me to choose Ather . I have placed order for Ather , to my hard luck, I am paying more due to sudden rise of pricing. But it has not affected my decision for Ather.
What is ola using for cooling system? I heard they are making completely screen touch controlled, What will they do if it rains?
I wish all others spoke English to.. it makes life eazier and content more globally marketable.. indian media should learn from u
Please help me sir I am very confused. What should I prefer an electric scooter or petrol scooter? My family wants an electric scooter but I don't know which is the best electric scooter to buy now and also I've seen many videos where electric scooters are burning and I'm scared. Can you please make a video on it or reply me pls.
I'm having rv400 it's going to be a year now still range and feel of riding a bike impresses me and the USD forks does amazing job
excellent review! One of the best presentations!
Reverse in forward mode, what if Ola launches a car?
What a brilliantly done review without any biases. Thank you!
Activa is the OG. When can we expect the 7th generation?
Hopefully an electric version. Petrol scooters are simply not worth it anymore.
Can we use Oil cooler for electric motor to reduce the heat???
I made mistake bcoz of negative feedback of few youtubers comments of s1, i cancelled my november booking of s1. Today they had given test ride of s1 at my home, i am so much impressed. Such a great and classic rocket booster scooter.dont go with negative comments, if you ride, you will love with s1 ola
I rebooked again s1 today
Which one is best?
Ola S1 Series is the best electric scooter. Hope they will work on feedbacks and give a proper finished product.
Please make a video on Bajaj Chetak and comparison with ather and ola in terms of long term reliability
Please compare the Bajaj chetak with these two on the basis of same parameters. Thanks!
By your review its clear that Ather is far more reliable and with An Update this year I guess Ather will match up Ola Specs
You can manage with Thermal Throttling on a mobile phone but would you be comfortable with it on a 2 wheeler on road???? You get the idea....
