Hi @Faisal Khan i love the work and reviews you put up.Can you help me decide. I am confused between Ather and Revolt.. I am tilting towards the Ather cause its built from scratch in India lots of R & D behind it.. Revolt on the other hand is a direct Chinese clone but with some good added features here in India which are tempting but not sure about the quality. You have tried both the bikes which one did you like on the quality and ride dynamics. ?

More than the shares its the environmental issues and economy of India due to crude imports that's concerning the present govt.
Read how Nithin gadhkari is so serious about electrifying India. He had used his own city Nagpur as a starting point. Most ola cabs runs in electric , buses runs on bio diesel, dozens of companies are selling ev scooters in Nagpur.
Proposal was given by govt to ban ICE by 2025 ..by 2024 even all big motor companies has promised to stop the production of ICE two wheelers that falls under 150cc
What makes me confident is , relaince that earns a lot from crude imports has been focussing more on generation of electricity from solar power. They are even planning to mfg electric cars and two wheelers ,
Every Moto mfg is releasing electric bikes and cars BMW, Audi , Hyundai Kona releasing June 8, Kia Niro EV , Tiago electric 10 lakh, Mahindra xuv300 250km range car that's under 15 lakhs.
Royal Enfield is also working on electric.
Ashok Leyland tied up with tesla to make electric buses.
Okinawa, ather, twenty two motors flow , vespa electrikka, hero , avera and dozens of new modes launching next year.
We all thought the same before Jio release , that internet not gonna boom like other foreign countries , but India becomes the country with cheapest data rates. With RUclips depending mainly on indian population for its revenue. India will become mfg hub by the end of 2029 by dethroning China.

Most blame the infrastructure is not there to charge EV. every company is working on this to create grids throughout India. Ather is planning to construct 7000+ grids by 2022.
Avera from AP is also doing the same.
Tata is planning to construct 20k+ grids by 2023.
Also govt is keen on making people adopt for solar panels to generate their own electricity rather depending on govt. Good for rural areas where they have frequent power cuts.

The electric scooter in the long run is chepaer than ice ones. For example, the new activa 125 bs6 is rumoured to be 70k ex showroom, the ather is 1.1 lakhs on road Bangalore. The difference is 40k, considering an annual use of 15000kms you buy 300lts of petrol with fuel economy of 50kmpl which comes to 21000rs, for ather 450 with a range of 60km/charge it consumes 3kw for full charge 250 times. With a unit rate of 6.5 rs in Bangalore it comes to 250x3x6.5= 4875rs. So for 3 years use of the Activa you spend 80k for vehicle on road +63k for fuel=1.43 lakhs.
For Ather its 1.1 lakh+ 14.6k for charging which is 1.25 lakhs. Mind you that the battery needs not be replaced after the 3 years warranty as lithium battery can go additional 3 years keeping 80% charge potential. Till then the battery costs will come down significantly and if you do want to retain the scooter just buy a new battery which will be cheap.
However, if you do long-distance travel this scooter is not for you. If you only do city travel this scooter is a better option than ICE ones.
Another thing is that the ICE technology is 150 years old and the electric battery + motor is 10-15 years in terms of development. Just imagine what happens if we give time and support to this tech. There is no noise in electric engines because they are very efficient, and do you really want more noise in our already noisy cities. The EVs will be a boon to India and we wont buy oil which is currently 80% imported. As solar energy expands we wont have to spend anything for our energy. This is a vision we should all try to move forward to. EVs hold answer to lot of our problems today.
PS- If you get ather charge subscription you pay 6000rs for charging anywhere in ather grid and they even reimburse for the electricity charging charges at home, also you get all the connected features like gps, vehicle location, software updates.

Diesel engine is the king of torque,2 stroke engines are king of power.Electric motors have a linear torque vs rpm curve where unwanted torque is given at top speed.
It’s about range, reliability & price. Torque is not the issue

This Ather 450 beats Bullet in terms of Acceleration. Above all it's a scooter. Even Activa barely survive to reach above 85km/hr.

Electric bikes and cars are not at all green really sorry to say that , I m not against electric bikes or cars, but still trying to say that power generation still in India uses thermal energy again it's going to cause huge lot of pollution. No electric scooter should cost us excess of 1lac.price bar...And every reviewer should mandatorily mention about the battery price too bcoz without mentioning the cost of the battery the review can't be said completed specially once the warranty period ends that would certainly help those prospective buyers to judge buying an electric vehicle is feasible enough or not than the petrol counterparts.
Looks good. But I am still not economically sound to incorporate such vehicles.
Moreover if infrastructure is not ample and charging time does not come down to atleast 30-45 minutes for full charge. I don't think there is any point in the technology as a replacement for current fossil fuel method.
