Being an early user of both Ola Electric and Ather Energy. I can vouch for what Tarun said.
Well and truly said that Ola has a great marketing strategy of putting them out there but Ather's product quality is far superior.
Atleast for me, I do not require a music system in a scooter? Dont know what the logic is.
Seperately, had a really bad experience with Ola and had to switch to my second ather. Happy with the experience so far with Ather.
Speaker and mic is required for on ride calls, and you have no idea how much it's helping

Hahahaha you are saying ather is reliable...but that's not the truth within 500kms belt issue , 450kms brake pads worn out , 1500kms front race kit issue , 1600kms scoring marks in disc plate , screenshot blackout issue , service centre persons are very rude after a 3 months of ownership1650kms i faced lot of problems in ather , weekly my Ather sits in ather service center
Ola is really far ahead in terms of the value it provides at that cost. However the service isnt good, unsure about ather service.

Ola or Ather or any other purchase done with hard earned money - Experience is only relative to the buyer (good or bad). Because nothing is perfect!
Maybe ola quality wise not that good today with ather but in future OLA will win. As so many people already purchased it. Service is only problem which will go away once local repair shops starts servicing just like hero and honda.
There is no comparision between ola and Ather in terms on quality. Athers quality is top notch and their support is also good.
The amount of complaints that come in Ola is 100x more than ather. Ather might not be having all the features but definitely is the best EV scooter overall. All the features that is there in is worthless if they have tons of scooters with complaints. Nikhil you need to check out the new video of an ather working perfectly with 70,000 kms. Just stunning to watch. Shows the performance of the scooter instantly. Do let me know you're thoughts about Ola and ather.

@@Vasudeva777 Because Ola has already expanded like crazy. They did this and put themselves in a trap. A place where Ather is not available, people will obviously buy Ola. There are also premature buyers who just buy on the basis of stats. Ola is blindly expanding, whereas Ather is expanding only when they know that they have the facility to entertain the minutest problem of their consumer in the cities they are present. Then only they are moving ahead. Now that Ola has already reached everywhere, definitely it is gonna sell more. But this thing won't last.

My neighbour bought ola and after 2 years the battery collapsed..luckily he had 3 years of warranty..otherwise he would have ended paying 90k for the same..now he is super confused that shall he sell the scooter now and buy a petrol vehicle..as because after 10 months the warranty would expire..this is scary 😢
Why is ather charging extra 14000 for just showing range in 450x. Is it even in the interest of the public who buy their product. Thats the main reason i would choose ola over ather.

Yeah that subscription model is actual cancer. We should oppose such companies.
Ola has 4.0 kwh battery ather has 3.74. If u compare both u will notice thats not a big difference. If u travel 50-55km/h speed u will consume 31-32 wh battery. So by that calculation, ather should have 116 km range and for ola it is 129 km, which is not a big difference but ather only uses 3.24 kwh battery so it gives only 105 km range.
Now
We can say its a disadvantage for ather users but ather has done smart jo here, they reserved 10% battery for upper and lower limits that means even u full charge or discharge ur battery it never going to use full 100%. Which will increase its battery expectancy. I used my ather 23000km but still my battery health is over 93%.
at 23k km 93% health is not good at all . In Ola people have used about a 50k km and their battery health is around 92-93% , same as your but longer distance covered . And ather even have a belt issue , your belt can break in midway

Hi Nikhil, could you please do a complete deep dive in the Fintech space for new founders? I am working on a payment solution for small B2B merchants for a problem they face regularly. However, just like the PLI scheme, the barrier to getting into Fintech is pretty high, like the RBI approval for licenses and all. The asset requirement of 25 crores for the license is the biggest problem for now.

Not like that i bought my ather 3 months back in November , within 500kms brake pad worn out and beld squeaking noise , service centre persons was rude and they spread water and told your issue solved 😂 , for brake pads they don't have stock 😂 and i changed in another service centre in warranty , in 700kms ather beld makes nore more squeaking noise and beld have Changed in warrenty after sometime front race kit bearing noise , then in 1600kms disc rotor scoring marks occurs and the person in the service centre was ride , they don't listen what your saying , coming to paint quality for 1.75lakhs scooter the paint quality was very average , software issue while riding the screen turns black...till now my ather completed 1700kms

Ola is now a widespread name in EV, plus more available in plenty which results in trust of more people.
Ola Electric's choice to focus on showcasing its product rather than on aggressive marketing campaigns is commendable. It ensures that customers know exactly what the features are, how the scooter performs, and what new updates to expect.
Correction - Ather Electric * ...Ola has marketing...when was the last time u saw a ather ad on tvs or other platforms 🤔...on the other hand ola has been doing this

Cost of operation is low but the capex towards buying an EV is almost double
A regular tata tigor is 7 -8 lakhs while ev is 13 lakhs +.. how does one justify the input cost and method here ?
Just my 2 cents, most businesses are built on debt so Blusmart is putting 2 lakhs as cash to get the vehicle and then loan of sub 10% is quite low for the economics to work and enable them to pay EMI with the car usage on the daily basis.
It would have difficult for the business economics to work in 2 situations - either Blusmart had to pay full amount to acquire the cars or the loan interest rate is upwards of 18%.
Blusmart cost economics ->
Cars charges around 15/16 bucks per km while the operation cost is just 2 rs per km.
Loan amount of 11,00,000/- for 5 years at 10% interest rate comes out to be around 23,000/- monthly EMI.
Given that cars are driven for 200*30 = 6000 kms every day so cost per km comes out to be another 4 Rs.
So, excluding driver and maintenance cost, business seems to have quite high EBIDTA assuming that the 2 rs per km was for charging operation cost.
Bottleneck - the cost of charging infra upfront is costly and difficult to create in the first place.
@@aakashagarwal2602yeah regarding your last point. An EV's slow charging also requires 3.3kw. In a country like India where electricity is cut to homes in summers due to load shedding is it even feasible to scale up this kind of power hog business?
Auto hold doesn’t work properly and service cost is high in Ather. Seating posture is not good getting back pain . I don’t know about Ola
Recently I came across all the scooters, as I planning to buy it.
Being an average middle class family man and living in Tier-2 city, I felt Ather is not for me.
The first reason is the seat position, as you couldn’t keep your 3 year kid comfortable due to their seat angle.
Second the design, doesn’t give me a feeling of its scooter for mine and my wife.
We can argue that Ather is high performance and great features.
But, being a family man, I don’t care about how fast it reach 100 km
I believe Tvs iqube is the perfect fit for your use case. They've made the design like a regular petrol scooter.

It is quite good for my family travel and also I feel good when I ride it.
i was recommended by cousin who was using it. its superb, the best & by far ahead of competitors. i would suggest give potential buyers to experience it for a day or so. you have a product that speaks for itself

The absence of an auto hold feature is what made me not buy an electric scooter a couple of years ago... Being used to IC engine vehicles it was Very scary to start the scooter uphill...

When Tarun replied to your Q as to what Ola is doing better.... that OLA is Marketing better, I realised ATHER is an EXCELLENT Product.
It has just failed in Marketing.

I have been using the TATA NANO for last 9 years & I am Very Happy.
Nano is one of the best Cars in its segment.

Ather doesn't produce lithium cells whereas ola is making battery packs in india. Battery generally cost about 1/3 of scooter cost.

Atger is the iPhone of scooters, its expensive yes for sure but delivers with quality. Ola is like an android flagship.
Sir you have done phenomenally well in terms of HMI , Power electronics and overall dynamics but in terms of after sales support and small issues like drive belts damage etc you need to seriously work on.
I have Ather 450 x and so happy with its performance, potholes, ascent, weight nothing can beat it!

The thing is when you look for a mainstream electric scooter the longest range is Ola, the fastest speed is Ola, the cheapest one is Ola. Aether, TVS and Chetak are fighting for the second place. In that regard TVS just wins by simply being familiar looking like a conventional scooter.

All ola needs to do now is just fix all the issues and make it reliable AND find a way to sell it at a cheaper price. Ather might be leagues better but there will always be a market for cheaper and a reliable product.

i have both ola s1 pro and ather 450x , i wud say ola is much better as a product. No doubt ather has far superior build quality than ola, it also has better manuverabilty. But ola actually comes with better raw specs such as power , battery and range. Ola has soft suspension which makes it better for longer rides, ather on the other hand is better if u have to go short distances. Also the biggest reason for ola being better is the cost , ather comes with several hidden costs such as pro packs and 2 variants in 450x model.
if u have to travel long distances u shud go for ola (comes with bad software , the unlocking process is bad, bad manuverability compared with ather)
if u have to travel short distances go for ather (bad for long distances , hard suspension , oftens jumps on speedbreakers , makes more noise, less range and bootspace)

I bought ola s1 pro, the top model, in June 2023, and i am really disappointed. Thinking of going to consumer court. Reasons - 1) the latest OS of ola, move OS 4, has not come to my vehicle till now. So, i don't have any hill hold feature till now, forget it being there for few seconds.
2) Worst problem of ola- the scooter auto locks itself for hours, and i can't be use it. So, the scooter doesn't have traditional keys to start the scooter. I need to input a password or use mobile app. But the screen gets hanged for hours everyday. And i have to leave scooter at home, use some other vehicle, as it can't be unlocked even by app. I have taken the scooter to ola customer care 3 times, and on third time it has become a bit better, still it hangs. Furthermore, the range of my scootet also was only 60 km for first 4 months. Again, due to software problems. It has become alright now. I will never buy ola again, if ather was in bhopal, i would have recommended ather to everyone

In the 2nd generation ola is improved with their vechile only the build quality they have to improve the performance wise I suggest ola is the best with single and pillion riding ather in performance it takes time . When I went to the both the showroom for the inquiry of the vehicle ola was very responsive to it's customers and ather was very poor to the response to it's customer they have to improve in that

17k kilometers will save 40 thousand rupees, as per their Caluculation 40km per litre from ola.
After service is very worst, they will tell no service needed but I have a problem 1 day front handle and tyre disconnected while I am driving.
Now I am facing daily "scooter issue changed to park" while driving 2 to 3 times on the middle of the road. They are telling no problem in your scooter.
Ola is good until we got a problem. They have to improve their service far better.
Else it is a life or death for rider, only God knows.
I went to the service centre yesterday, and resolved the issue free of cost.
BUy only Ather.. Ola scooters have so many engineering issues . And very minimal service centre human expertise to fix issues..

Just took test drive of both the vehicles. IMO the Ather rides more like an actual 2W. Ola scooter has a weird throttle response (there is a good 1 sec input lag, feels very un-natural). The fit and finish of Ather is lot better. Ola feels like a toy.
I bought Ola.
But I will advise don't buy it
- poor build quality
- very poor service
- Design is good
- features are ok
- pricing is good
