For the other cars I've owned (which were all 2010 and earlier), before checking the transmission fluid, you had to drive it for 15 miles to get the fluid warm, then, after parking, you had to go through each gear (reverse, drive, 1st, 2nd, 3rd) and go back to park and wait 3 minutes. Do the new Hyundais not require these steps? It's OK to just pull out the dipstick and it'll show the level?

Hyundai manual says to warm up engine to normal operating temp.. turn off.. wait 5 minutes.. check oil level.. any reasons why not the traditional check engine cold?
