A box has opened up so the turkey have been able to move onto the ground but they still have to stay close to the house so I can use the heat lamp if necessary

What an easy move for the turkeys. Dabbles and the ducks just chillin out after their swim is so sweet. Love the wind chime as beautiful sounds to relsx by. I pray Nurse Rita is doing much better. Poor Rita. ❤ I know it is part of mother nature but it is hard to see the older livestock dimmish little by little.
My dog is not livestock but his 15 year old eyes and legs show signs of his age. He traveled with me through the sequoias park, to Red woods in california., and all the way up to Seattle.
I guess I am saying is how our animals help us go through life.
Rita helped with Mumbles to recovery.

These turkey aren't of the desired breed, they're hybrids that don't breed true.

I really hope that bob tail is a hen. That would be awesome to have Sammy's lineage mixed with that chick. There's an assortment of plumage on all the chicks, but i like to see some more baby Bons. The turkey chicks seem to be less hassle to transfer than those agile chicken peepers.

The comb varies more by breed. A roo could have a bigger comb, longer legs, and a spur bumb on his inside ankle, some ever rooster crow pretty young.

I remember making cages, i wanted 1s like ur camping box, but needed lighter weight & i had to do myself. I made a ton all wire & got my (now ex) hub to make stands to set the rabbit ones on, and sheets plywood for roofs. Attached with bungee cords. They made easy transfers to butcher places. Some i used as "tractors".

Good work fighting erosion at the pond. Hay instead of straw? Just asking :) Is it possible there are seeds in the straw which may sprout & root to further help stabilize the banks?

Yes there are seeds in the hay giving it a multipurpose use, I don't buy straw, I can use hay for everything I need.

I know u wanted pure bread snowball n but babies but I don't think u should of separated the roosters cuz they had a understanding between themselves before but now they all have had there own time n they dont wanna be around other roosters. Idk I think in the future prob should atleast keep them socialized with eachother when ur wanting them to breed.
