From a total stranger out in California: You have my sympathies. I lost my grandpa on Dec. 2nd 2023, but thankfully I did get to see him that night just before he passed in his sleep. I almost didn't make it in time to be there when I heard the news (I got maybe an hour with him, if that), it was a 4hr drive each way and I didn't even manage to get on the road until dusk. I can't help but imagine that getting your dad's ring back was a similar feeling of relief to what I felt making it there in time. Words just wouldn't do it justice trying to explain that feeling.

Shawn the best I could tell I found a band like that one back in the day there were no videos like they have now I am 85yrs old now and don’t go as much but can still put in a pretty good day when I do go when I tell people I hunted back when a average day was 15to20 rings a day they don’t call me a liar but I can see it in there eyes my first under water detector was an ole 5000 white with the box floated on a inertube with a extended cord but it found gold when I bought the Garrett 500 vlf it was unbelivible the coins and gold and not to mention the pull tabs probable a small dump truck load keep on diggin and keep up the good work

Put some football socks over your boots ,it keeps the mud off ,try and get 2 sizes bigger and boil them for 5 minutes to soften the elastic in the socks and then they stretch better but wear gloves so you don't burn your hands

Awesome ring recovery and return! That’s what it’s all about. That pull tan in the middle of a farm is a freaking sign to get back to the beach 😂 or a stalker pulltab.
I think the lamp part is from an oil lamp. The metal piece screws onto the glass or metal base that holds the oil and the oval hole is where the wick goes. The part sticking out is what you turn to move the wick up and down. ❤ cool video

My dad also had a stroke a few years ago (but recovered a lot thankfully) but I just want to say "I understand" to that man! It's very hard & every person is so different when it comes to brain injuries that you really have no idea what will happen next; good or bad. When you are able to talk about it, you really should, because it is hard to get through alone. Fun to see another kind of hunting. You probably should have asked the Ohioans to borrow another coat. They might make fun of you a little, but they're usually nice people. 😗

was out swinging the gold monster. by barstow ca. just junk. few crumbs of gold. drywashing. gave the crumbs to a new guy. he was all happy. wasnt very much gold have a good day.

sorry that i comment alot but I watch yr channel alot - this one got to me enough to comment again. my dad died 6 weeks ago from a stroke so I felt for this man esp as the dad wasnt responsive its horrible when they r still alive but not there, maybe the ring back might get thru who knows. excellent that you might give that chance. hi from nz yet again. also thats an irish coin i think its a penny or summit small but definately irish.
I was so happy that I was able to get the ring back to him before he passed, and that his son can now wear it in memory of his dad. It's such a sad story, but I feel good knowing that he'll think of his dad every time he looks at that ring

Its the first time someone saw their item on the channel. A lot of people have claimed that I found their ring, but had no proof and couldn't even tell me what beach they were on when they lost it

@@DetectFlorida same over here, other than living with winter in Michigan. 😆 Live near the River raisin in Monroe and flood threats and minor flooding so far. The skies have been completely gray it seems like forever. Hope you get to return to detecting again soon.
Do yourself a favor and carry a water squirt bottle to clean coins. Using your fingers to rub coins clean will result in a huge devaluation if you find old and rare coins. You could lose tens of thousands if you scratch a really rare one!
I don’t believe that his dad‘s ring. It’s too much coincidence that his dad had a stroke and couldn’t talk. Anyone could have rented an Airbnb there and say this is their ring.
One, who would go through that much trouble for a ring. B, it isn't about the guy claiming the ring, it's about someone (Shawn) doing the right thing by returning it to, who he believes without a doubt, has a claim to it. Quit being so negative. If the guy that claimed it was lying, he'll get what's coming to him.
