“Brand new alchemy feature” damn, every single video has at least one thing wrong with it. There is literally alchemy in the first game. The blacksmithing was cut for the first game. But the alchemy is exactly the same in the first game (much quicker animations than the first game)
As evidence in the saviour schnapps potion you use wine, 2 belladonna and a nettle. The potion calls for boiling but you literally don’t have to and will still make it successfully. As you level up, it literally causes you to brew more potions automatically while using the same amount of ingredients without having to select a perk.
@@tabithaknightwins In case anyone is wondering why skipping boiling still results in a successful brew, It's because you are allowed a specific amount of mistakes for a successful result and causing a single mistake (skipping boil in this case) isn't enough to pass the failure threshold. Its not a % of failed steps but rather how many failed steps in total.
@@tabithaknightwins I would say it’s been reworked quite a bit. There are some extra things around the alchemy system that improve the quality of your ingredients that let you craft the higher level potions. The core is the same, but it has been greatly expanded in depth and width.
@ This is why the skill in the alchemy tree of "make one additional mistake" is so over powered in KCD1... it allows you to skip 2 entire steps for a perfect product. I'm pretty sure the potion quality is a good fix for this. Now I'm sure a mistake will produce a "product" but every mistake will ding the quality meaning actually trying to avoid mistakes is important.
