    Ive had my Max Nano for 5 years. It was my first reef. If you follow all the basic reefing rules, its not bad for a first timer.

    I just bought a RSR G2+ 525. Getting back into the hobby after a 7 year break, and I love these AIOs and kit tanks that come with everything and are designed to have additional accessories without having to modify anything. No more Frankenstein tanks or needing to plan out the plumbing setup.

      @arineey4538 it's going very well. The biggest advancements, in my opinion, are roller mats and auto topoff units. They make maintaining the tank SO much easier. They even have a rollermat for the max nano now. I think all G2 models come with an ato unit now.

    WWC had a video up last month? 20 gal WB cube that was insane. I like the ease of a 20 gal water change routine. I said it before BRS needs to dedicate a channel to AIO . It will help drive innovation for reefers seeking AIO upgrades & 3D printed products.

    My 2 issues with the aquarium. Evaporation rate is crazy high so we put a plexiglass cover. Second, the aquarium gets very loud if you are actually using the water top off. It just sits too low where the float trigger is. All in all - 9/10 tank.

    Listen to Thomas as everything he stated about the tank is correct. I have a 26gal peninsula mixed reef with 27 coral from a clam to sps. Definitely recommend the Nero 3 for this tank. If your budget allows dump the ATO reservoir that comes with it. The main thing with the tank size is always be on top of your water parameters.

      @brian-te4xs Год назад

      It’s too small for practical use. It works though and I was having salinity issues then I changed to an Tunze ATO and 5 gal. container from Innovated Marine. A year later from initial setup I can say I love the tank for what it is regarding the size of a 26gal.

      Do you have any concerns about the seals

    • @brian-te4xs
      @brian-te4xs Год назад

      The only issue I have had with the tank is from the return pump ball socket return nozzle seal/adapter. Red Sea sent me out a new one a few months ago and said to use silicon. I tried and failed because of the bleeding of the silicon against the rear sump. Hand tighten only now and it vibrates and have to adjust a couple of times a week which is annoying. Everything else has been solid. The light is cool if you want sps corals. Not the best but it works quite well. Limited to 3 color spectrum. I’m very happy with the tank and highly recommend an automatic ATO for it.

    Great Review! My son's and I have had freshwater aquariums since they were basically born. Now at age 15 & 17 we want to try setting up a saltwater aquarium. It seems SO ominous. I, we don't have a clue how to maintain it much less what items to buy for it. Thanks for your feedback on this. It seems to a bit less stressful to try. I keep seeing pictures of Salt Water tanks and quite frankly they look just terrible, aweful. Dark, glass sides full of algae, sand full of algae, waste, etc. I want a tank that is bright, clean white sand, spotless glass and coral that are bight, colorful and well happy. Can this be achieved? My hope with is system it can. Can modification tips will be greatly appreciated.

    Erfahrungsbericht nach 1 Jahr:
    Das Max Nano hat schwere Konstruktionsfehler.
    Das Wass läuft innen teilweise über den Rand des Ablaufs anstatt komplett in die Filtersocke zu laufen. Musste selber Stege einkleben zur Erhöhung damit das passt. (Bekanntes Problem) Die Filtersocke ist auch sehr schnell zugesetzt (100 Micron). Dann läuft das Wasser auch über. Ich reinige sie nach Möglichkeit 3 mal am Tag!
    Der Skimmer ist wahnsinnig laut (bekanntes Problem). Er wurde von mir gegen Tunze 9001 DOC getauscht. Die Förderpumpe ist ebenfalls zu laut (bekanntes Problem). Getauscht gegen Aqua Medic. Mehrkosten von 300€.
    Die Auslass-Düse sitzt zu weit unten.
    Guter Ansatz, aber nicht zu Ende gedacht.
    Der Nachfüller ist unnötig, da zu klein. Jeden 2. Tag auffüllen. Lieber einen Kanister in den Unterschrank mit einer guten ATO. Dann 2 Wochen Ruhe mit Auffüllen. Nochmal 100€ Mehrkosten.
    Fazit:
    Mit viel Werbung gepusht und gehypt. Hat viele Fehler. Red Sea hat irgendwie kein Interesse, bekannte Fehler zu verbessern. Zu teuer für die vielen Fehler. Anfänger wie ich kaufen dann eben das Aquarium und ärgern sich. Trotz Mehrausgaben von insgesamt 400€ bin ich noch unzufrieden mit dem Aquarium.

COuld you imagine giving coral food + feeding the coral a wide range of things + the livestock -- without a damn skimmer? Things would die QUICK!!! ALWAYS HAVE A SKIMER! Even have a skimmer in a 6 gallon prevents dead fish in 2-4 weeks time, period.
