    I'm gonna say this because Nik did not.
    If playing these patterns scratches your musical itch, by all means keep doing it. Creative outlets are the healthiest!
    There's no shame in playing what makes you happy, all joking aside.

      Adding on to this: Many great bands (death being my example) use the same patterns in many songs, but it’s the context in the song and the rhythm that gives them their own unique qualities

      Yes, all of my most used videos are actually patterns/stereotypes that I myself use as well as a bunch of amazing bands. The point of the videos is to show people some of those ideas so they can use them and innovate on them as they wish :)
