Not wanting to say anything bad but I’m semi new to the gym and always hear people say don’t ego lift but it’s crazy cause I see the biggest dudes in the gym train “ego lift” what’s right and what’s wrong? Form is the most underrated and overrated part of working out at the same time haha. Everyone has different ways of moving, there are some major dos and donts but some people also will just look different in an effort to lift the most weight they can and u gotta be flexible with them
at the end of the day they are nfl players but from an exercise selection and form standpoint this is mid at best. Dads a legend but stuck on the old ways
A speed power athlete like amon should be doing plyos and power based training 1-3 reps of 40-60% and then maximal strength training-1-3 prolly lower than 80% just due to injury risk. The hypertrophy might boost work capacity but like football is a glycolic energy and phosphates energy system sport its fast twitch. The hypertrophy work capacity training will only help endurance and injury resistance from increased muscle mass. I'd also do unilateral stuff too

You aren't doing slow and controlled on a football field. It is erratic and unpredictable... There are days for slow and control but there are days you should just squat like a frog one leg after the other for 100 yards which most coaches would be like WTF but it helped me a lot in highschool. The more you throw at your legs the better.

@TheMonkeysprinkle Amon Ra measured under 6'0 at the combine, he was 5'10.5 the middle child Osiris measured at 5'11.5 at football camp and I think had a injury that cut his career short. Typically the second child is always taller. But in this case the oldest son is damn near 6'5 and the other kids are sub 6'0

Form is the most underrated and overrated part of working out at the same time haha. Everyone has different ways of moving, there are some major dos and donts but some people also will just look different in an effort to lift the most weight they can and u gotta be flexible with them

A speed power athlete like amon should be doing plyos and power based training 1-3 reps of 40-60% and then maximal strength training-1-3 prolly lower than 80% just due to injury risk. The hypertrophy might boost work capacity but like football is a glycolic energy and phosphates energy system sport its fast twitch. The hypertrophy work capacity training will only help endurance and injury resistance from increased muscle mass. I'd also do unilateral stuff too
There is no form on the back workout.
The weight should be lower so you can have full range of movement which will give you better overall growth..Ijs

But Of course you can do it slow and controlled... I am arguing the opposite. I think for athletic purposes those half reps help a lot. I think these workout simulates leg burn on a field. You aren't doing slow and controlled on a football field. It is erratic and unpredictable... There are days for slow and control but there are days you should just squat like a frog one leg after the other for 100 yards which most coaches would be like WTF but it helped me a lot in highschool. The more you throw at your legs the better.
@@ADM-wt9cn they showed another video of them training and it followed more bodybuilding principles. But I apologize for name calling and respect your perspective. I played JV and we didn’t do speed work but still won.
