    I own a 2022 Q50 Red Sport, and I absolutely love it!
    The interior looks dated, but it’s been absolutely perfect. No squeaks or rattles, the seats are really comfortable. The infotainment dual screens has ended up being really good. It’s nice to have Apple CarPlay on the top screen and my climate control or satellite radio on the bottom screen.
    The driving feel is amazing! I love the engine, especially when some people are paying insane markups for the new Nissan Z with the same engine. And the transmission is good enough for me, for a fun daily driver.

    I appreciate your review on this car and here is my thoughts. The Q50 redsport is a good steal if you can get it used for a decent price (Im thinking somewhere in the ball park for $28k-$29k) brand new however this car is not worth the MSRP. While I admire the design of this vehicle which I consider timeless and the power train options compared to the competition for being brand new it falls flat on its face. It has been at least 5yrs over that this model is do for a complete redesign/makeover, the 3.0t VR30 came out I believe around 2017. Since then no change in transmission (going from 7 Speed Automatic to maybe 9 or 10 Speed Automatic) and no change in engine power numbers or mechanics of the vehicle (which dont get me wrong the engine is beefy)
    I had a 3.7 q50 back in the day and absolutely loved that car, I could beat on that engine day and night and it would not skip a beat. In closing I would pick this up used for a decent price in a heart beat. Brand new however I would look at the TLX Type-S or M340I. I still love infiniti just hoping they give this model a good redesign very soon to justify the MSRP.
    Awesome review brother 💯👍🏾

    My 2016 Q50 Red Sport looked almost like the 2023 model, very few real changes. One of the reasons I traded the Red Sport for a Genesis GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, night and day difference in tech, fit/finish. Infiniti is dying, former G37 IPL, QX50 and Q50 Red Sport owner, I was a fan of the brand. IF you can get a killer price the Red Sport is a nice car but in the $60K range there are so many better options.........

    This is such a tricky one for me in that it’s a car I really WANT to like because I imagine its potential and what it COULD be with a few of the right changes. I think it’s so close to being something really compelling in this segment. I think it’s one of the more attractive entries in this segment, and I don’t take as much offense to that interior as some people do, though they could pretty easily modernize it a bit by just stitching those screens together into one if they really wanted to. I just wish Infiniti would dial in the dynamics a little more. I like how it’s “looser” feeling and not as perfectly, clinically sharp as the German entries in this segment, but I wish there was more feedback and better feel to the inputs. I think if Infiniti really leaned into being the “different” option in this segment by focusing on that and cared less about “what the market wants,” this could have been amazing. But sadly, I don’t think we’ll get to see that :( I’ll miss this entry in this segment.

    Ya know Miles, with all the compromises that you mentioned in your Drive Review I'm left wondering if the Q50 Red Sport is the result of Infiniti not giving the car it's A-game, like the company's heart just isn't in it. At the Q50 Red Sport's price point the car loses to the few choices available in the market. But I have to admit, in that stunning red color it sure is a good looking sedan, with 2+2 interior room. Thank you for and excellent Drive Review, as always!

      The problem is that this car is extremely dated. It was dated when we leased it back in 2017 to replace a leased 2014 328xi. The reason we got it was bc of the amazing lease deal. A fully loaded red sport was cheaper than a 4 cyl 328. This car was basically all about the engine - and back in 2017 4.5 sec 0-60 was really fast. Anyway, we now replaced it w a polestar 2 and we love it so much more than the q50 and 328.

    I have a Q50 3.7 2015 and a g70 2022 3.3t and the g70 is just light years ahead. If you want a pretty good looking aggressive car with a horrible transmission awful infotainment screens awful steering this car is for you. The g70 is so much better it’s not even close from transmission to interior to handling. Infiniti has changed nothing I mean NOTHING since 2014 when the q50 came out. All they added was a nice engine which is the highlight of this car and steer by wire(awful) . G70 has heated cooled seats wireless phone charging pad head up display limited slip differential active exhaust and so much more. Nothing what the q50 red sport offers.
    I will put my foot down on the q50 and it just has no idea what it wants to do. Sometimes it takes a second or even more to register to decide what gear it wants to be in. In g70 you put your foot down in sport + goes right away.
    If you want a straight line missile and a good peppy engine this car is for you. But not sure how people spend 61 k on this new when there is so many better cars. Even in the used market get a Kia stinger looks so much better offers everything g70 does. This might be harsh but it’s the reality. There are other cars in the segment for the same price used and new that do it so much better.
    A shame because this car has so much potential and infinti still has yet to change anything. This could be a real contender with a better interior handling and transmission m.
    Disclaimer: yes I have driven a 2019 red sport 2021 red sport as well. I still like parts of the car just my l opinion on owning a q50 and then having a g70 now . I still have the q50 so I have a direct comparison.

    • @latino914
      @latino914 Год назад +2

      I agree with you on the G70 being an overall better car as most reviews have stated the same. The only thing that holds me back is the KiA/Hyundai/ Genesis dealership experience. I've heard multiple horror stories about poor service experience, denying warranty for very poor reasons, etc. They are actually Ranked one of the worst auto manufacturer for Their dealership/ Service experience.

      The G70 is an awesome car, but it's small for the segment imo.... we have a '15 Q50 with the 3.7 and will probably go with the Red Sport. We test drove a Type S last week but my wife wasn't overly impressed.

    For a 2023 this car is extremely disappointing. And this is supposed to be Nissans luxury brand. The Nissans look better than this car. These people need to catch up to the modern times. The interior still looks it’s in the late 2000s. I’m very disappointed in this car. No full screen gauge cluster, an abysmal infotainment system. Infiniti should really consider stepping up, especially with this being the luxury brand
