donations are deductible... for the donors... Less than 40 percent of the donations go to research. The top executives of the foundation make hundreds of thousands in income and since it's inception we are not as close to a cure as we were before. We have funded the machine that is big pharma and we are no closer to a cure. This is a grift. Donate to people not organizations. You'll get more from giving to ppl suffering than giving to an org that gives tax breaks.

I was cringing at this myself! If you intend to reuse the ball joint NEVER smack it with a hammer. Hit the spindle or use the ball joint tool like he used on the spindle to pop it loose if a hammer doesn't do the trick. You can also use the tension of the suspension spring if you put the nut on the spindle and put a jack under the control arm and whack the spindle to pop it loose. This trick works great on G body and S-truck suspensions.

The joy of seeing the material break away and leave a cleaner surface was awesome.... like the first 2 times, after that a couple of hours of blasting followed by a few hours of scrubbing with diamond pad gets old. Resist is super hard and the dry ice just could not break through the deeper layers. You cant use a sand blaster in a clean room. This is much cleaner and the blasting media just evaporates leaving just the material your removing. I just wanted to add we did not need to use a generator, our machine was 110 and plugged right into an outlet.

I've seen some welding guys use a really neat fabric behind their welding and torching that absorbs 100% of the heat from going through to the other side.
I wonder if they make a flexible pad like that so you could save that fiberglass from the heat. I know you didn't hit it with "flame" but you can definitely tell it got quite a bit of "heat" on it.

They only run a 2 to 3 hundred dollars which is tremendously less expensive than repairing fire damage. Being in the rust belt I'm surprised he doesn't have one already. Of course he's still using MAP gas instead of a true torch which I find surprising for a former professional mechanic.

Not swapping that engine is an ongoing insult to DeLorean. He never wanted that engine, but was forced into it due to collusion from the big 3 to screw him over. Put a powerplant in that thing that DeLorean himself would have been proud of.

At some point you should get some of that dry ice and use it to create some of the effects seen in Back to the Future! I once had a a job that involved dry ice and I found that spraying dry ice with water increased the steam effect. (Will he use it for good or evil...stay tuned).

It's an amazing transformation, for the price I guess it better be. I think the biggest concern, even after you remove so many vulnerable things, is if it's doing any damage to gaskets/seals and such.

Spring ARE DANGEROUS!!! I remember when I was 19 and working in a scrapyard in denver.... I was taking apart a brake chamber from a semi with a bench vice..... the moment I started to back off the vice, th spring shot out of the side of the brake chamber, and QUIT LITERALLY SHOT THROUGH THE METAL ROOF 30 feet above my head.....
    Edit: *springs

Haven't read all the comments but I'm sure someone else has mentioned by now that Komen is one of the worst charities to donate to - almost all 'donations' go to their 'administrative' overhead and almost none (comparatively) goes to the actual cause. There's a handful of sites that show all the transparency of most charities and it's very enlightening to check these things.

Could have learned a few lessons from the Ammo Ny channel. He blasted a vehicle with dry ice ( think it was a Porsche ) and the results were a clean undercarriage but all the residue ended up all over his shop.

Would have been interesting to see the dry ice on low pressure clean up the engine valley. You do need to treat the alloy tonprevent further deterioration. Plenty of good products from the aerospace industry and then you can do some metal apoxy bonding.

I just fold the cotter key ends up so I can fit a 6pt impact socket then air impact the castle nut. The cotter ends shear off and the nut threads right off. Then drive what's left of the cotter out with a punch or send the ball joint to the iron pile.

That frame epoxy acts as a barrier coat, when you go to repair it with new epoxy paint just be sure you thoroughly coat it all. Any missed areas or pin holes in the epoxy coat can create an area where accelerated corrosion can happen.

Alex, why didn't you pressure wash it to get the big dirt off, then you can hit it with the dry ice, to fine tune it, since it's so expensive using the dry ice??

Have you considered an engine swap? A turbo V6 out of a Ford truck would fit sweet. I have an LS swap that was incredible but would require a lot of modifications. I believe he cut off the entire back of the car and made it removable just to access the engine.
