Civic builds are always a treat to drive! Whether you have a turbo B18 GSR to a K20 swap in your Honda they almost never disappoint with their fun factor. For today we drive a K20A2 supercharged EG Civic making 300HP and is by far one of the cleanest Honda builds I've EVER seen. The Civic is a blank canvas for many auto enthusiasts, and this is why. So is a supercharged setup better than going turbo? Let's find out! Thanks for watching!

I've read enough about Honda builds and culture at this point to know that there are plenty of reasons to do a Honda build, accessibility being one of the main reasons I often see cited. I drive a Toyota atm but I'd be glad to drive that Honda hatch featured in this vid.

I have both and I like them for different reasons. I have pretty much that same setup in my EM2. It's a great daily that's easy to drive. She spins the tires but there is no worry about boost surge. My other car is a turbocharged AP1 and can be a hand full. When boost comes on she wants to go sideways. Couple that with a performance clutch and lightened flywheel and daily driving can be a chore, but she can scoot. So on ramps and an open stretch of freeway are fun for quick pulls.

I’ve known the original builder of this car for 22 years now and every car he’s ever built he’s built to perfection. Even in high school with limited funds he never cut corners. He’s a mechanic at the local Honda dealership in Clarksville, tn so if you ever had the pleasure of him touching your car, you know it was done right. Awesome car and even more awesome build!!!!

  • @warmongerism

man I rocked a 2002 rsx-s with a jackson racing supercharger @ 11 lbs of boost for years. No intercooler because in those days they didn't really offer them. Ran 13.2@111 and dyno'd 300 whp and 200wtq. Felt faster than my mostly stock 2011 gt 5.0. These motors are SO much fun on boost because of that sky high redline. Of course, traction is always an issue.
For those of you interested in a similar set up, you will throw belts so keep a serpentine belt puller in your trunk and a few extra betls. Even with an auto tensioner I had issues with belts.
I can only imagine how fast the EG hatch is with a more modern blower. Absolutely a killer from a roll.
