I played it a ton when it was new, to this day it's the most fun I've had with a Sims game. Just keep in mind that once an ambition is done, you need to create and play a new kingdom (so you can't keep playing with the same characters, which can be annoying after editing the buildings etc.). My advice is to google "Using the same kingdom for different Ambitions in The Sims Medieval" and different variations of the phrase, since you might wanna be familiar with that right from the start :) If I remember right it was easy, like copying a file and pasting it somewhere, it was pretty quick. But I just thought I'd mention it :)
Wrong medieval times. This is early medieval, prior to the discovery of the Americas. While it's no longer believed that syphilis came from the Americas, it is still true that it only became prolific thereafter and was the greatest issue in the 1800's.
STI’s definitely existed in the medieval days and also Animal-intestine condoms were a thing back then so us gays still had a bit of ole clean-ish buggery I’m sure. 🤣😅
@@JokersD0ll well not really different from today, putting it on as a condom, just that it's not latex but... well, an empty colon! very ~ natural ~ xd
Sims Medieval is my favorite Sims game of all time. It was so amazing when it came out and now I have such glorious nostalgic love for it. I would *love* to see a series of Satch causing chaos with all the different hero sims hahaha.
Aaah! I've been playing that! Whoa! I played it on twitch last week! We're calling it Sims Medieval Monday! OMG! I love this game so much fun! It's the security they built into the game that is not compatible with new computer systems. Mine was given to me through Origin so it works but if you going to get it now I suggest getting it through Steam. Uh, no, they had "STI's" they just didn't know what they were. Syphilis was well documented just after the middle ages but they just didn't understand that sex was the means of transmission for certain diseases at that time, they thought it was just like other diseases and was proximity. More importantly though there was no birthcontrol, so in Sims Medieval there is no separation between woohoo and try for baby. I'll say if ever there is a game you want to read, this one is it. It is freaking hilarious! I love the Bill and Ted card and the witch and... well there is soooo much. This game is awesome!!!!
Europe had Syphilis (Alexander the "Great" died from it), gonorrhea, herpes, genital lice, crabs...they had a lot of STIs in medieval Europe. And remember, no penicillin. So, lots of STD deaths too.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but medieval times definitely had STIs 😅 Syphilis was deadly and incurable and gonorrhea was rampant. Luckily Fanny doesn’t have to worry about that though, she’s a sim!
I love how realistic the sims in medieval are. I'm so gay that I only make Dilf and girl boss for every role lmao. Often a Knight paired with a Wizard.
I remember first starting and was like: "DANN I wish the TS3 sims would Look this good" then I was wondering if It was possible to put the games textures into sims 3 and the results were horrible 😂
Actually historically speaking STD/I’s were around during the medieval times. Diseases like syphilis became more widespread starting around the late Middle Ages (15th century) in Europe. It’s hypothesized that the disease is actually from the Americas because they have found traces of it in 2,000 year old Brazilian skeletal remains, along with less ancient remains.
There is a way to come over your sims fatal flaw by doing an epic quest but they are realy rare and dont spawn all that often. And you have to make the right decitions and with pirates and nobles you can instigate a war
ive seen playthroughs and wish sims medieval would be remade for other consoles. i'd love to have the pleasure to play this and live my medieval renaissance maybe even rococo sim life.
Medieval was and still is a great game. I only wish they had made more expansions for it, with more furniture and clothes and such, because it looked great. The TS4 team REALLY shot themselves in the foot for not implementing the TS Medieval clothes, hair and furniture in their Castle pack. It would've been a great homage to TSM, AND good marketing, and could have sent fans running to buy TSM even though it's an old game, and they would've made more profit. But marketing isn't team TS4's ballgame. They're basically legless in that department. -Suppose that *one* TSM bookcase they implemented in one of the packs is their way of paying tribute... lol
My ONLY gripes with Sims Medieval are the exterior shells don't even have colour wheel swatches, some of the objects have a heavy tint and can't be made white on the colour wheel, and you can't transition the same kingdom between different goals, forcing you to leave a lot of people behind in your pursuit to unlock more objects. What would be Awesome is if you could pick amy of the neighbouring kingdoms to play as with a unique world shape. Would be chef's kiss if I could be Aarbyville.
Can anyone explain to me why The Sims Mediavel Sims look much better compared to The Sims 3? I even remember that I was looking for The Sims 3 mods and conversions of The Sims Medieval to make my Sims in The Sims 3 look like in Mediavel. Especially the hair, the skin and the skin details.
Well, Sims 3 is from 2009 and Medieval is from 2011. I remember hoping, back in the day, that TS4 would have the same graphic style as Medieval but better. Instead we got a cartoony low-res nightmare that is TS4. 😅🤣 lol Medieval is a great game, however. I only wish they had made more expansions for it, with more furniture and clothes and such, because it looked great. The TS4 team shot themselves in the foot for not implementing the Medieval clothes, hair and furniture in their Castle pack.
I love this version of The Sims!! I have a save with a queen with all males heroes, and another with a king and all female heroes. All of the heroes will bring help little princesses and princes
The Sims Medieval is so iconic! My game stopped saving for some reason, so I had to give it a little of a break. I'm feeling inspired to pick it back up, I miss the chaos! TS4 literally could never tho
Satch, thanks for the heads up on the patch for the Sims 3. I can now play again. And boy it really looks good running on my new computer with all of the graphics settings at MAXIMUM.
The U in Hubris is pronounced like the U sound in 'you' - orlike the 'oo' sound in 'hoot'. (Just to note!) Also it will never NOT make me laugh bc most Americans don't know what the word 'fanny' means in UK English, so I'm must cracking up at Fanny's name constantly. And there *were* condoms in the medieval era, and there were definitely STIs, lmao. Condoms were just yucky and often make of pig intestines or the like.

1:48 Tbh you ain’t wrong tho. They ARE the best looking 😂 not too cartoony or stylized and not “realistic” I’d say they’re the perfect mix of Sims 3 and Sims 4
This game changed my life SO MUCH! it made me obsessed with magic, witches and wizards so much that I created my own magically hidden continent, magic system (there were seven elements) and a fake language for this fake continent + lore for most of these things all at the ripe age of 11. I was maybe too obsessed with this little world i created 😂😂😂
here's a brief translation of the medieval interactions that were in the pie menu around the time you asked. Woo = Flirt Bestow Favor = Give a gift Extol Virtues = Praise Ask to Court = Ask to be boyfriend/girlfriend The rest should be self explanatory
What's incredible? Is that if you're a King or Queen dies, you can actually play as your airs and make your airs do different things like go to the church etc. I love Sims medieval. I have to redownload it , but e a is being a lot of curse words here
honestly the sims medieval has the best looking sims, I hope when they make the sims 5 it will be a mix of this and alpha, at least that would make my world, idk if they will tho xD
Do you know that’s there’s also the expansion pack about the sims medieval the name is “nobles and pirates”. The sims medieval it’s my favorite the sims gameplay!
I love sims medieval Introduction to so many great ideas that the sims could have built upon but of course they didn’t 🫠 Only thing that would have made it perfection is no time limit, more customization, and being able to create generations that age. Other than that such a nice switch to normal gameplay of sims
Great video Satch. Just to be clear though, STDs absolutely existed in Medeival times. Often known as venereal diseases. They existed even in antiquity, even hippocrates described a condition that sounded very similar to gonorrhea
@ 0:45 satch pulls a lilsimsie and messes up the editing by putting the two different takes in the video instead of cutting out the wrong one. Lilsimsie is HORRIBLE for she does it at least 4 time in every video it’s insufferable. This is the first time I’ve ever noticed satch do it so we can give him a pass on this one hahahah love you 😜🥰
I love how whenever Satch has babies he completely forgets about them after 10 seconds😭😂😂
Sims 4 could never let you humiliate someone and have them executed
the biggest missing feature in the Sims 4 fr
We need to think of the children 💀😂😂
Something really bad happened with EA/Maxis between this and Sims 4
yeah there was defo beef bc this is so goood 😭
P sure that’s when EA fired the entire Maxis team lmaoo
EA became more greedy and stopped caring about gamers
@@laupel why lmao?
Fany May is such a tigress bro. The woman gave birth and headed strait into a battle afterwards, respect.
But don’t we really? most of us, isn’t that battle after delivery just a forever of taking care of that child?

I mean in real life it should be a team effort. It takes two to make a baby after all.

I am literally so shocked at how good the sims look! I'm officially on a hunt for this game now. It's the spin off I never knew I needed.

RIGHT!!! Its the literal root of most stds! I cried laughing when he said that!!

Satch I’m pretty sure they had STDs in medieval times 😭
In fact, pubic wigs were very popular back then because they hid signs of infection
Not to mention prosthetic noses and make-up to hide the scarring. Albeit a lot of make-up just straight up melted people's faces. lol Lovely times.
Your pronounciation of hubris made me laugh 😭
I think Sims Medieval is the best Sims game. Certainly the best of the spin off games.
Also maybe Fanny invented cruising xD. A true trailblazer 😅
