Great video. It reminds me of my first time up the Großglockner, in late Summer 1986 when I was 18. My Yamaha SR500 had almost no power left at this altitude, so I did the last two bend 1st gear full throttle.
As you said "it feels so easy to breath" I could, again, smell the air up there. Back then I giggled my way up the pass road just like you, feeling like the Emperor of Austria. And I probably was as proud as you were, standing beside my bike, right on the peak of the pass road, looking down at the massive range of mountains I just climbed up. I still remember this day, but to see someone else having the same experience is really valuable for me. Thx for sharing this day with us. With me. All the best!
What you are describing is exactly how I felt 😂😂😂 king of Austria
Skøn tur . Kørte også der i 2023. Skønne billeder.
When it comes to riding the Grossglockner isn't the most exciting pass, but it is one with some of the best views in the whole of Austria. I've spend hours on it with my motorbike. Enjoying the views, making lots of photos etc. I am a little sad you didn't show the highest spot you can get to with a motorbike. There is a lovely restaurant up there and a little watchtower in which the amazing history of racing on the Grossglockner is explained and shown by old photographs.
But!!! You go girl! Enjoy! You are doing amazing especially for such a lovely good cause! Thank you.
I didn't actually know it was there 😂 I was researching it the night before and I didn't stumble across any information. When everyone started commenting, I was like god damnit I can't believe I went all the way there and missed it
@@SaffySprocket happens. Good excuse to visit it again 😉
Absolutely stunning , beautiful , exciting video Saffy , and it contains one of my favourite Saffy sayings , (actually most of your videos contain it , ) , can you guess what it is ? , I`m sure it will be fine !. Love it ....!.
It's allllllll fiiiiiiiiiiiiine ahahahaha
Yes definitely Saffy , heard that a few times as well ! , love your attitude so much . Thanks for sharing so many of your adventures with us , the good times and the not so good .@@SaffySprocket
Saffy, whether you agree or not, you are an inspiration for other people to try new things. Well done, chica 😘
This is an incredible video!
Thank you so much ❤️🥰❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful road! :)
It really is!
Saffy it's an wonderful adventure you've undertaken with just two years riding experience, but what a amazing worthy cause to be doing it for, and even though at times you have no doubt questioned your sanity for taking it on, you are creating wonderful memories. For me watching you and your genuine excitement you show with your laughter lifts my spirits. So well done young Lady you are amazing. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed my videos! And it honestly makes me feel so happy to be able to give back to such a wonderful community 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Saffy , it's amazing scenery there. I was one of 200 Honda ST1100 riders, from all over Europe, who attended the Honda organised Pan European Rally to Austria in May 1995. When we reached the top of the Grossglockner, the road surface was clear and dry but there were walls of snow 10feet high on both sides. It was an amazing sight. I'm sure you will never forget the experience. Ride safely.
That's incredible!
So nice to hear the joy in your voice on your travels, ride safe and soak in the beauty of motorcycling
Glad you enjoyed the video 🥰
No, you're not one of the most experienced riders Saffy, but yes, you're one of the most inspiring ones, well done you!! 💖👍
Fabulous video Darlin, Awesome views. Carry on the good work.
Thank you kindly 🥰
Those mountain roads looked amazing. I can see why it was a bucket list item.
Honestly, made me so happy 🥰
Excellent video. I did the Grosglockner, Stelvio, Grimsel etc last year . . . some of the best biking I've ever done. Keep up the good work with the channel, Saffy.
Thanks, will do! 🥰 And yes, I think at the time it was so hard to take everything in, when I was editing the footage, I was like, holy f, I can't believe I rode over here!
Some great scenery, both from your bike and the drone. You are certainly doing a fantastic job.
the important thing is to keep up the enthusiasm, I always pray that I will be healthy, always happy, stay focused with positive thinking that is done every day, is running now
Thank you ❤️
It's very nice to see you enjoy the Großklockner. If you ever have the opportunity to go there again. On 10:55 there's a left turn, that goes all the way up to Bikerspoint. The road up there is steep and made of gobble stones. Also a nice experience and the view just amazing. Wishing you save travels with lots of fun.
Inspirational. Full stop.
It's great sharing in your biking journey over time and the adventures and causes you go through.
Well done and keep doing what you're doing.
Thank you! Will do! 🥰🥰🥰🥰❣️❣️❣️
Your enthusiasm is infectious.
Well done Saffy!!!
Thank you so much 🥰💕🥰
I received so much joy watching your excitement and happiness riding up the pass. It was really beautiful scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it!
We travelled by coach through Switzerland to Italy via St Bernard pass and Aosta valley ,incredible scenery .❤.Thanks for sharing Saffy.❤
You've had a beautiful trip, its still great to hear you're excitement .❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Awesome trip. Love to hear how excited you are. Keep up with the awesome videos. Love it
Thanks so much!!
Wow Saffron, what amazing scenery, and as always loved your commentary , you have had some amazing adventures for sure, looking forward to your next post.
I never saw one of those memory card holders before... Just ordered one ! Thanks !!
Hope you like it! It's super handy on the road, I buy mine directly from China from AliExpress to save money!
WOW!!…..that looked like an amazing ride!!….great views!!…well done Sprocket lady!! 🫶
Thanks so much! 🥰🥰
Brilliant views and loved the drone footage. A bucket list item and dream come true for you.
Glad you enjoyed it
The hills are alive with the sound of Saffy🤗
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Go Saffy.
This biker is a inspiration.
Love your videos! And love the country music insert in this one. You're an inspiration, got my big bike back in September and you've given me the confidence to plan my first weekend trips this year. Perhaps Austria next year!
Thank you so much for your support 🤩🥰
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. So, brave going through those twists which look icy, but what a view! I bet your bike can't believe it's luck, it thought it was going to see out it's days in a training school, now it's on adventures and seeing alpine views 🙂
Well done! Glad you enjoyed the Großglockner - and Austria! Cheers from an Austrian biker who went over that pass alone on the way to Italy for the first time last year as well ✌️
Thanks, you too!
That’s one hell of an achievement considering you’re a new rider! Well done 👍🏻
Thanks a ton!
Evening Ms Sprocket. I'm doing some catch-up. I had a grin on my face while you were climbing up that road. Nice one girl 👌😁. Ride safe stay happy till next time 👍😊.
I did this, including the ride from Scotland on a Vespa PX125. It was part of Vespa World days.
I really want to give scooter touring a try at some point!
Wow great road and another great video well done.
Glad you enjoyed it 🥰🤩🥰
I was amazed to the kennels holding the St Bernard dogs at Swiss/Italian frontier ❤
Beautiful drone shots. Did you reach the summit? Its a series of very tight hairpins on a block-paving like surface. The view up there is absolutely spectacular
I'm honestly not sure 😂 I got to 2500m apparently you can walk on a glacier which I had no idea about, proper gutted! If I had know!
@@SaffySprocket The top of the Grossglockner pass is 1 hour 33 mins into this video: ruclips.net/video/6OpryqzML4k/видео.html I made a few years ago. It's a pretty scary section but a great feeling getting right up to the summit. If you missed it, maybe it's a good excuse to go back someday :)
This must be my favourite part of your trip so far stunning scenery, great drone footage, and we all know that a camera doesn't do it justice. Your momentary silence on camera says it all, what you must have been feeling. Missed opertunity not trying to get a paragliding trip. The one mistake I made at the grand canyon. Roll on next week.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes, there was actually quite a few moments in Austria where I was crying in my helmet 😅 I was awe struck, Its the first time I've been reduced to silence and tears 😅😅😅
video looked awsome ,think il put that on me bucket list, what a awsome place
Wow, what an amazing video and footage 👏 this is the best thing about riding on your own. Stop whenever you want to and go at your own pace 🤣
Absolutely!! It's always so relaxing too!
That is an amazing backdrop to wake up to.
You need to do it in summer.
My plan is to do 6 of the passes from France to Austria and go home Poland.
All the best
Oh man, that would make one heck of a roadtrip!!!
Really nice video Saffy, I specially like drone footage.👌
Thank you so much 💞
Looks like you will have to come back again.
At 10:58 there was a left turn, that would have led to the "Edelweissspitze" - what's the highest point of the road.
Just keep in mind that it's really slippery up there when it rains (old cobblestone road to the peak).
You chose a good time to ride up the Großglockner. During the holiday season in summer, the traffic up there is annoying.
Beside that, it's a fantastic road. But I personally prefer the "Nockalmstraße" ove the "Großglockner Hochalpenstraße". Less traffic, also fantastic landscape and a bit more fun to ride imho.
Visited both roads several times on my motorbike :)
Fantastic what you are doing a real inspiration to others and you are doing it by yourself brilliant. Great scenery breath taking, 😃
Really enjoy your video's and adventure's keep the good work up 🤞😃
Thank you so much 😀
Great vlog saffy keep em coming. ✌️
More to come!
Hi staffy great video amazing views stay safe out there mate 👍 🏁🏁💓
Thank you, I will
That view was stunning
It was pretty amazing !
Well done Saffy. What an awesome adventure. The skys your limit. 😊🏍️ 🏍️ ⛰️
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Saffy 🍀 the picturesque, postcard views are so awsome ye 👍 you did it tho well done X 🍀🙏🍀
Thank you so much 🥰
Such amazing views !!! What a Great place to go on the bike !!!❤️🥰❤️
Yes it was!
Very brave of you, what an achievement, especially with all that snow and ice about 👍.....
Thanks 👍 🥰❤️
Stunning views
Memory of a life time
🏍
😅 watching the footage back, I was like, woah, I went there, I think I didn't quite take it all in at the time
Nice one Saffy but I can't believe you did'nt mention that one of the main reasons people go up the pass, is to go to the Glacier and have a walk on it.
Wait....what 👀🥲
Congratulations on your achievements in such a short space of time from passing your test. Well done, you can achieve anything now, just go for it 👍 You don't have to have any type of motorbike, just something with two wheels and a willingness to keep going and love every minute.
Thank you so much!
Why didn't you go up to the Edelweißspitze, the highest point you can drive to? At 10:56 left up to the mountain top.
😭 I didn't know how to get there because I'm a dumb dumb
Brave you are, with 2yrs of experience! Kuddo's to you Saffy!
And yes, we have a beautifull planet. And... with some great great road to ride too!
Again great footage.
Oh, almost forgot.. love it to see how clumsy you can be 🤣🧡
Thank you so much! And yes, I'm super clumsy ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
@@SaffySprocket Adorable Clumsy... be you, stay you!
The mountain 🏔️ view is wonderful 👍 love to see different parts of the world so cool
It was honestly the most beautiful thing in the world
Hi beautiful young lady saffy sprocket loving the videos can't wait for the next one can you tell me please where you got your cooking stove from please xxx
I got it from amazon, it's a fire maple camping stove, there are tones of different brands that make them, the original brand is known as fast boil, but now there's loads of companies making them just as good
Brilliant camera work Saffy although the tunnel bit felt a touch wierd. I don't remember having to pay when I went over the Grossglockner pass, that said it was a very long time ago and I'm an old geezer. Looking forward to the Stelvio episode, I went over that on a Kawasaki Z 1B (900) completely the wrong bike but you live and learn 😎.
I think it may be a recent thing, I suspect with it becoming more and more popular, they're having to spend a lot it money doing the roads up. It wasn't cheap to go either, cost me about £20 but I just figured I wasn't going to be back any time soon so wanted to make the most out of it, but honestly fair play, they cleared the entire road and it was in really good condition too, so you can see where the money goes
Wel done, breathtaking at times
Thank you so much 💞🥰
Beautiful area to ride. Hope you toes thawed out. Hope you had a good weekend working on fixing up your garage.
I got absolutely nothing done 😂 sat and ate cake and watched Netflix, winter is naff
@@SaffySprocket That's ok, have to chill one or twice on the weekend. Left leg is a pain today so hope it's better sooner than later.
Plus more snow, haven't had a winter like this in awhile.
wow what a place to ride, will have to add it to then listof places to visit.
200%
The mountains look epic in Europe. Not a bad spot for a morning brew. :)
It was probably one of my favourite days of the trip! I won't lie 😅
Awesome! Ehrfürchtig!
Thanks 😊
Big clocks then....😁😁
Beautifull roads.
It was amazing!
Well done you, i know people who have been riding years that would not attempt what you have done, doing the same pass along with the Stelvio later this year
It's been a wild ride 😂
Outrageous view
🥰🥰🥰
You were really lucky as it is crowded like hell in the mainseason, on the other hand: it probably simply was great timing;-)
Hi Saffy, loving the trip and your videos,,,, how many days did this trip take all together? Thinking of doing something similar this year? X
I did it all in 2 weeks annual leave 😂
Wow, that’s great. Keep up the great work. Really enjoying your videos 😊😊
Hi Saffy, did you not go up the cobble Road to the bike point which is the highest part and the best views. We did a sunrise trip last year it was stunning watching it come over the mountains :-)
I didn't know it existed 😂😂😂 I'm a dumb ass
Awesomeness!!!
Thanks!!
Wow Saffy! you are one lucky girl. Watching this vid just wanted me to ride out there now! You travelled all these countries in 14 days..?
Yes 😅 it was a lot of hard work!
Fantastic scenery, bit lacking in safety barriers though!
It was unnerving but I think the aim is that you just take it slow. If you look closely at the road, you can see white circles occasionally, these are target spots for bikers and cyclists. It warms traffic both ways that bikers will be there, and it informs bikers that's where they should be when heading up the mountain!
You handled those passes better than a lot seasoned bikers. Well done. I keep saying this to new riders, get yourself on a bike safe/ advanced rider course. It will really improve your riding and get rid of some bad habits before they get too ingrained. Fab video
Challenge accepted 🥰
It kinda bugs me how you have your mirrors 🤣🤣 bet they work well like that though. Anyway what an awesome place, this is certainly the closest I'll get to being there, keep up the great work.
😂 its positioned so I can keep on eye on my rear camera. Sometimes they fly away
@@SaffySprocket 😎that makes sense 👍
Right, i've said your an inspirtation, ive been fighting Cancer this past 5 years so i'm going travelling, so iv'e just got a tent, do you use an air bed or just a mat? like your brew set up, what is it? gonna book a few weeks off work probably late june {coz i'm soft) any ideas would be awesome :)
Brilliant. 👍
Thank you so much ❣️
Being from the southeastern United States I loved the country music! If you ever get over here look me up and I'll show you the "Tail of the Dragon"! 318 curves in 11 miles in North Carolina and Tennessee. Keep the adventure going, you're doing great!
@@Kein.Alias234 it happens but rarely. It’s actually illegal for them to drive it. I personally have never encountered one. There are so many great roads here in addition to the Dragon as well. I’m fortunate to live in an amazing area for motorcycles!
Wow,beautiful.
It really is!
Klasse Video!!! Lieben Gruß aus Berlin, Ralf
Thank you so much! And greetings!
Woooo go you :) what's that pouch on leg like a bag that clip to your leg I'm looking for one
how much cost the tools?? for the mountain there??
The road wasn't cheap, it was about €20 (just under £18 or $21) . I was first a bit taken back by the cost but once I started to head up, you realise how good the road condition is and you can clearly see they scrapped all the snow off the road. So I felt like the cost of going up matched the amount of upkeep they do with the road!
Wow it’s so beautiful over there is that like now Jan 23????
I think it's currently closed for Winter! I was here end of October before it shut!
@@SaffySprocket awesome video love the fisheye lens and great music
you missed the edelweißspitze, guess you have to come back again 😁🏔🏍
Where is the start of the grosglocken pass?
I googled Grossglocken toll on my way up and it Google maps found it, I just followed the route from there!
@@SaffySprocket thanks, must ride it this year. It says only open from May,?
Gotta love country music!
Ye haw 🤠😂
I know that feeling
😂
You are just awesome
Thank you so much 🥰
Hello. what is the name of the campsite?
I keep forgetting how big these measurements are.
What's the height in Sprockets? 😁
1407 sprockets high!
Saffy very cold? but ok 👌
🤣
Nice. Hope you have a Austrian drone permit. They don’t laugh about that overthere….
All done legally :D wouldn't risk my career like that
Top banana . 😎🍻
Thank you so much 💗
I hope Bo the Drifter didn't get you copywrite struck
It's not easy for your engine to breathe either
Where next - the Matterhorn ?
Stelvio!
@@SaffySprocket I have to keep up with you. Last I learned of your new garage. Now you are crossing probably the coldest parts of Austria on a Motorcycle - travel safely please !
