The trial can't come quick enough. As a true crime addict I don't think I have ever been so intrigued by a case before. I want justice for the victims!
How the mother described her feelings. When you can’t believe the world doesn’t stop . It just goes on as normal. I also went through this and had those feelings after the night my mother was murdered. I still have days that are hard to deal with. This whole idea of closure really doesn't exist for those of us who have lost a loved one in this manner. Especially when the guilty party never admits to it or says why. I remember looking out of the hospital window looking at how busy the world was.. in a hurry to get wherever . I was standing at the window crying thinking how can the world go on without my mom?!.
Mother's description of how the loss effected her really hit me ... The way the world moves on but as a mother I get it your children are your world so to think it keeps going without them is death to you. The pain. My love goes to the families and I hope they at least get justice.
The pain in all their voices and eyes haunts me.... Idk how anyone could hurt another person let alot what this devil did. I don't think I'm meant to understand though. I don't think most of us are.

This!! I used to leave my house at 4 a.m. to meet my boyfriend at his place, and we’d hang out until it was time to walk to school. Even though his house was on the way, he never met me halfway-I’d walk alone in the dark for 10 to 15 minutes. Looking back, it was a sign of his character that I should have noticed, and I was putting myself in danger without realizing it. Now that he has a baby daughter, I hope he’s changed and won’t let her, or any woman, put themselves in unsafe situations like I did.
Exactly! As it shouldn't. College is like a small pretend adult life city lol, they should have been safe, protected young adults almost ready to hit the world and make a difference
Right after high-school my classmate was murdered in an indescribably cruel home invasion. And this happened in Sweden. one of the safest neighborhoods in all of Stockholm. Still feels unreal
I know what mom is going through. I can’t talk to or follow my sister’s friends on social media. She passed away in ‘96, her life ended at 22, they moved on to get married, have careers, children, grandchildren. I am happy for them but it just destroys me that she never got a chance to experience life or make beautiful memories with me and my daughter and grand kids.
That's so sad I'm sorry for your loss and too young aswell but you know she's watching you all flourish and making the most of life, I do believe that one day we do catch back up with fallen family, friend's and general loved one's stay strong you have great loving memories 🙏 love from 🇬🇧
I share this life journey. My sister was murdered at 19. I was 15. It was 1970. My life with children and grandchildren was never to be had with her. My heart has never since been whole.
I’m so protective of my sister. I don’t know what I’d do if god forbid this happened to my baby sister. I think I’d be on death row too. I will never understand evil scumbags and why it’s so easy to take someone’s life. Someone’s sister, someone’s baby, someone’s mom, someone’s friend.
You have my pure sympathy , feeling sorrow having lost your beloved Brittany. I'll never be able to process my son's demise, (2020) and then 2 months later, another son. Not from covid. Hugs to you.
My only daughter was ready to celebrate her 17th birthday when she was killed in 2004. I still miss her and find it difficult to look at her pictures. It rips out a Mama's heart for sure.😢
Ethan was a triplet, my god 😢 these poor poor siblings 💔 I hope his family is doing okay, we haven’t heard from them at all or nearly the same as from the other families. Which I respect so much. Hope their way of handling their grief privately is helping them a little. RIP Ethan ❤
My heart is so broken for these families. My tears fall for them all. The loss is incomprehensible. Peace, blessings, hope and love to these precious souls. ❤
Being interested in true crime, it always hits so differently when you see a case happening from the start and don't just hear about one that took place decades ago. This case feels like it happened only months ago, but here we are watching 48h and other documentaries on the case while we wait for the trial.
As someone whose sister’s remains have yet to be found after 52 years, the pain never goes away. Killers deny deny deny! Stay tuned for a ten episode podcast, a documentary film, and a book, all coming out soon.
Given it was a party weekend, she might have been intoxicated. When she woke up and who knows what time that was, she could have thought the whole thing was a dream. And noonish is not that late for college students to start moving around on the weekend.

The roommate situation is weird to me. She didn’t think to check on everyone . She just locked herself in her room and waited for 8 hours ?! It’s strange.
I can't stand how EVERY report since the beginning makes 1 persons death more important than the next. Then the 2nd most important then the 3rd. Ethan is ALWAYS last. Every one of these lives was the MOST IMPORTANT to their family & friends.
That's exactly how I felt when my Father passed away. How could everyone be happy, start their day as usual, be oblivious to my world being ripped out from under me. My Father didn't pass away violently; I think the families' pain is much more profound because they all were so young and had their entire lives ahead of them. I believe he's guilty. I believe he's a monster and should be given the death penalty. May the victims, Xana, Kaylee, Ethan and Maddie, rest in peace and their families receive justice. They'll never have complete closure because this is so senseless.
I feel the same way. My husband just died from cancer. It wasn't a violent death but it was very fast and painful to him, me and my daughters. I have those feelings all the time., how can everyone just go on when my world just crashed and is now falling apart. It's so hard but I cannot imagine the pain of those parents and siblings.
Me too my friend. When my mother passed away I was so angry that no one like I felt like the whole world should just shut off. It was crazy. I've never felt that way about anything in my life that when my mother died I was like it's like nobody even noticed she was gone. World just kept going. It was very strange
3:09 It's maddening to hear the defense talking about "if there's no connection, there's no motive". ARE YOU KIDDING? Every serial killer out there has no connection to the victims: that's what makes those crimes difficult to solve. Insisting there must be a connection is what they used to believe BEFORE 1990s. It's maddening, really. To paraphrase an excellent true crime writer, "asking what his motive was is silly. He enjoyed it." I hope to god no jury ever falls for this! The monster is guilty, and belongs on death row.
I need solid evidence. Circumstantial evidence and touch dna aren’t enough. There was nothing found in his car, apt, and office at school. I’m open to him definitely being guilty. I just see more reasonable doubt than anything else. Sorry.

I'm from Moscow, and I just want to say the media coverage has been incredibly harmful to the case and the people living here. News organizations have not taken the time to fact check details that have caused issues, and the media presence in the town was also incredibly harmful and both were contributing factors in the closure of at least one business. The high school is right next to the courthouse and reporters would harass students on breaks, and were trying to interview people in sit down establishments while they were eating. They were disrespectful to everyone, and have been more disrespectful to the victims and the community than could ever be explained to people who were not there. Please do not rubberneck if you actually care about the case and those affected.
I’m thankful every day for my little son and I pray every day for his protection and safety, any parent who’s lost your child I am so incredibly sorry. It’s any parents worst fear and something no one should ever have to go through.
Mrs Gonzales, you are eternally right in saying stop the world my child is gone. If only everyone shared this emotion the world would be a better place. God bless you and the other greiving families.

You can still be a graduate student and a killer. That old guy wants to paint a different picture of this guy saying there is no connection. All evil needs is jealousy, rejection and rage for excuses to destroy. No "connection" needed.
That's so true. Some murders are just senseless acts of violence with no apparent motive. As a criminology student, Kohberger would have also known to ensure that there was no connection between him and his victims, making it more difficult for law enforcement to find him.
@@birtajonsdottir9910Or he did not do it. Who were the 3 people that were videotaped coming to the house shortly before the murders occurred? Why did the survivors have some guts from the nearby frat house come and do a clean up of the place before the boyfriend-not the girls-contact the police? Unfortunately, this video leaves out rather a lot of information that raises questions about all of it.
I don't think he attacked Dylan because by the time they came face to face he probably thought she had already called the police. In his mind he was probably well over the amount of time he intended to be there and wanted to get out of dodge before the cops got there. I think he returns early the next day because when he got home he couldn't believe there was no breaking news coverage of what happened. Curiosity got the best of him so he had to do a drive by to see if there was any activity
Thing is, the police affidavit that says his phone pinged on the same cell tower the morning after, also says LE do not believe he was there that morning. To me, that calls into question every single time his phone supposedly pinged from that tower. Why is it they say it was correct some times but not that one? The evidence will be really interesting in this case.
@@helenr5 BK cell phone was switched on to airplane mode when he was en route to King road so while he was there during the crime it wouldn't have pinged at all. He doesn't switch airplane mode off until I think an hour or so after the crime. When he's home he's probably jacked on adrenaline and can't sit still. I think he's waiting and waiting for some type of breaking news report to alert. If my theory is correct he spared the roommate he came face to face with out of fear she had called the police. That roommate probably didn't hear too much during the slayings but he most assuredly did. That's why I think by the time he spots her his self preservation alarm starts ringing and he bolts. After a few hours of pacing with no breaking news he can't contain himself and decides to do a quick drive-by to access the situation. He may have even considered going back inside to recover the sheath but thought better since his paranoia is at an all time high. It's during that recon mission I believe is the ping you're referencing in affidavit

This killer was a psychopath, studying forensics. His motive was to see if he could get away with it. He seems grandiose. Maybe, he though he could involve himself with the investigation at some point in the future, mess with evidence, and dazzle other investigators with his insights.
How did she "freeze" from fear? Fear of what? She didn't know what had happened - People were in and out of the house all the time. If she was "frozen from fear" then she knew something had happened to fear. Enough to not call 911 for 8 hours
I just don’t understand why the media, these shows, documentaries, series etc are allowed to say anything about a suspect/defendant until after trial. I think we are getting into sticky waters with judges, juries, etc not being able to be unbiased due to it.
Except that… Even if one never has one single social media profile. If one’s photograph appears, in a group of ten people - every adult in that photograph will get tagged as if they had an account. It also happens with people who “at one time” had a social media account for just days, and then closed their account - that their account still fully exists
Need more info. If the killer brought the knife in a sheath, was it worn on a belt? Or loose in their pocket? If the knife was drawn from a sheath wouldn’t the killer know before driving off if no longer had the sheath? Since took knife with them, did they throw it on the front seat unsheathed and drive away? Seems odd the killer would walk in with knife con sealed in a sheath and drive off with knife in hand.

It's wrong. It's unjust. And the feelings of this amount of passion, youth, attraction, love is practically a dea,th sentence. I just hope the Judge's instructions drill into the jury not to judge by passion, but by facts, logic, and common sense. It's a tall order after what's in the air.
Dylan had been drinking the night before and into the early morning hours. Then, she saw the intruder. She had legitimate fear; however, the alcohol consumption impaired her ability to process the situation and she simply fell asleep before she could open that bedroom door again.
I got the chills about the details of the birth of Kaylee's niece! The room number and the time! Wow! Justice for Kaylee, Madison, Xana, Ethan, and their families!
I'm so curious about no one calling the police until late morning/early afternoon. A woman was interviewed who said her daughter called her at 11am saying "Don't worry about me Mom, I'm safe". The mother said what are you talking about and her daughter told her about the murders. The mom was looking online and told her daughter there is nothing in the news and her daughter told her everyone knows in the sororities. At that point the police had not been called so what was going on? Kohberger must have wondered why there was nothing going on because he drove by the house several times.
People are in such a rush to start the trail. I hope that it takes the time needed to ensure that justice is served. No one wants the monster behind it to get away with what he has done.
See it's such a fine line because the wheels of the legal system turn slow so I can imagine it's really frustrating especially for the families but also they have to make sure they have the best case against him or risk losing the case and setting him free. I understand both sides of the equation but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.
The connection between the killer and the victims could have been as simple as him trying to flirt with one of the girls and being rebuffed. Very pretty young women all over social media, bad idea, sadly creepy people are watching. Some people are just jealouse of those who seem to have it all, beauty, smarts, popularity. Motive can be any of these reasons in the mind of a killer, or no motive other than to experience the thrill of killing and seeing if he could use his knowlege and training to get away with it. I guess my mind is made up.
It's so incredibly hard for me to believe one person could do this without either being extremely skilled and in phenomenal shape. Even then one person would be extremely lucky to get out without injuries. These kids were not sleeping. "There was a hell of a fight down there" we know now Xanna was on her phone. The two survivors were texting each other. Eathan 6' 4" 200 lbs or more is a definite challenge to any would be attacker.
@@michaelpower4372I heard, the cop didn't know who he stopped. And actually there was an order to not stop him, because they didn't want him to flee to Mexico, thinking they were already after him. They had nothing on him to arrest him yet. So they had to wait.
@@rockstarofredondoyeah I agree if he used the element of surprise for each attack. Apparently the element of surprise was blown though because we know at least two of the victims fought back. No offense, but the Goncalves family has talked TOO much! They've done numerous interviews and disclosed M. E. and law enforcement findings. It's horrible what happened, but their daughter was 1 of 4 victims. I sure hope they're talking doesn't derail the case 😒
I honestly cannot stand them. They come off as extremely self-absorbed and narcissistic, the whole lot of them. They all interfered in the case from day one and even their opening statements in this show painted them as the kind of people that demand to be the center of attention at all times. They need to back off and grieve and stop forcing themselves onto front and center of everything.
I feel the same way. No lady, the world doesn't stop simply becos you lost your daughter. It's terrible, but how can I stop my life from going on, when I didn't personally know your daughter. Narcissistic for sure. And yes, from what I've seen here in Australia, Ethan is always sort of 'tagged on' at the end, probably coz he's a guy. R.I.P Ethan.
I’ve had 4 extremely horrible close deaths in the last 5 years. My stepdad was stabbed, my friend was shot in the head near feet from me, my sister in law was killed in a horrific train accident, and the unexpected loss of my dear aunt who was like a mom to me. I’ll never forget seeing people go about their daily lives and feeling angry with them. I wanted to scream at them to stop talking, smiling, to stop moving. I was grieving and people I loved so much just lost their life and no one had any idea. It made the pain worse seeing the world go on without them, seeing people act so normal like someone didnt just take their last breath. It was eye opening, to say the least. We are so invaluable in some ways. And replaceable. And fragile. Life is so very fragile. You think you’re safe in your own home, with your friends or family, but you’re not. Anything can happen at any moment and you don’t always get warning signs. Why I’m still here and so so so many beautiful people who are more special than me are not.. I’ll never know. Life is unfair. You don’t have an angel watching over you, your choices don’t always dictate your future, and you can’t change what’s already happened. You’ll never wish you could go back in time more than when you lose someone so violently. Just a few seconds and things would’ve been different. Man, it’s rough. It’s rough knowing another person took them, too. Like we don’t have enough challenges in this world. To add a threat from someone who should be an advocate is palpable. I’ll never understand it. But I understand how these families feel. My heart breaks for them. Oddly it breaks more for them than for myself. I wish I could take their pain and bottle it up. I’d feel it myself if it meant no one else did. But I can’t do that for them. 😢
Just a few seconds and things would’ve been different is so powerful. A good friend of mine worked the drive-thru for Dairy Queen and handed a young woman a vanilla cone; however, she ordered it with the chocolate dip. My friend missed that. After the correct cone was handed off, less than 90 seconds later, she perished in a car accident. You are special just like the people who are and were close to you.
The waiving the right to a speedy trial is actually a blessing for prosecutors. They have more time to prepare and don't have a timeline of when they have to hurry up and get their case ready. I understand these families want closure now but it's better to be fully prepared with all the facts instead of rushing to do it for trial.
@@chhansen9813 yea, technically speaking, sure it gives defense more time cause of logic. But a prepared prosecutor always beats a rushed prosecutor, any day of the week. The roommate situation always struck me as odd. She heard someone crying and seen a stranger and yet she didn’t think to go check on everyone?! I’m not victim blaming her but I’m so confused by that.
If the scene was so gruesome and bloody, why were no footprints found? Why wasn't there a trail of blood outside the house? Why was there no blood found in BK's car after being ripped apart by the Feds? This case still doesn't make any sense.

I don't blame Dylan. No one knows how we'd react in that situation. University housing is just a party house. It's definitely not uncommon for people to be moving in and out at all hours. Some of them were probably friends of one resident so a lot of the time it's random people you don't even know. The doors are usually unlocked at all hours. It's not safe but it's common. It seems like Dyan was spooked because he wasn't a student, and she knew he wasn't a random student. She said it looked like he spotted her. She wasn't to know what events unfolded just above her. I think the only reason she's alive is because he was unaware she was there.
first off, no innocent person sitting in jail waives there RIGHT to a speedy trial. Secondly, wow look how different he looked sitting there guilty AF compared to how he looks now in his suits and fake/forced smile.
The State often sort of forces it. It's like this: You have two choices. Choice A, we go to trial right away, as is your right. Choice B, you actually have time to read the 20,000 pages of documents we just gave you.

I'm just not 100% convinced that they have the right person. There are so many weird things about this case. I don't even know what to think about it. I've followed it since the beginning and I can't wait for the trial and for all the evidence to come out.

There is much that does not fit, like the roommate waiting to call 911, the fact that the cops had been at that house for noise complaints from parties and also - college dorms and campuses are magnets for drug dealers. There is stuff about the suspect that does not fit with the events or could be taken one way or another. I can't wait to find out what they have on him. He did not look nervous on the traffic stop, he does not look nervous in court. Maybe there is someone out there that did this, and they are not chasing that possibility because they think they have him. He might be guilty as all get out. I just don't know. I hope these people get some relief from this horrific event and that whoever did this pays. Maybe Kohlberger got rejected by one of the girls, and they knew each other. If one of the girls was really into true crime, maybe that's how the suspect met them. What if he had to have known one of them, and the cops couldn't prove it. Who knows.
I also believe in a way that Kohlberger might be framed. So far, he has no direct dna evidence on him or his car after such a bloody crime. There is so much yet to find out.
@mimid6354 Well, what are they saying ? That bryan is innocent because the roommate went back in her room ? Or that she is somehow guilty ? This victim shaming is disgusting .
That mother and father are a detectives worst nightmare. They continue to leek information and they shouldn't. I do understand. But nevertheless they are the type of close family members that destroy cases. And make it very hard for the DA to prosecute. They need to keep their mouths shut about the crime scene and everything else related to it.
This is NOWAY A ONE MAN JOB. IT IS CRAZY THAT PPL ARE EVEN OKAY WITH THIS. Why would you not want justice for these harmless children........... Knowing whoever did this, are roaming out there !!
It's absolutely possible, especially with the victims all being asleep and him having the element of surprise. We had a case back in the 90s where a guy stabbed four FIU students, and they were awake.
So how does this man ever get a fair trial when all these videos have been allowed to be made. They’re hurting their own case. How can they ever fairly try it?? Why is he having a trial because they’ve already convicted him.
Just don't have a jury like most of the world does. An impartial judge who knows the law and can't be easily influenced like normal people is what you need. Like civil law countries.

I got the chills about the details of the birth of Kaylee's niece! The room number and the time! Wow! Justice for Kaylee, Madison, Xana, Ethan, and their families!
Im so sorry for the surviving families
I'm so curious about no one calling the police until late morning/early afternoon. A woman was interviewed who said her daughter called her at 11am saying "Don't worry about me Mom, I'm safe". The mother said what are you talking about and her daughter told her about the murders. The mom was looking online and told her daughter there is nothing in the news and her daughter told her everyone knows in the sororities. At that point the police had not been called so what was going on? Kohberger must have wondered why there was nothing going on because he drove by the house several times.
Yes. I worked with a kid who graduated from there & he said everyone knew that morning.

I feel sorry for family members who are asked the typical dumb questions from 48 H such as "Do you ever dream of your sister?"

@@rockstarofredondoyeah I agree if he used the element of surprise for each attack. Apparently the element of surprise was blown though because we know at least two of the victims fought back. I think that Instagram and possibly Snapchat was a big part of how he targeted and fixated on them. These gorgeous, happy girls living their lives openly…
Having public social media can be dangerous.
That’s why I cringe when parents put their little ones all over social media. My niece had her two old nude, pointing out his body parts on instagram and we cannot tell her how dangerous this is.
Apart from there is zero connection between him and the victims. If you watch the court hearings and read the documents, you would know Bill Thompson stated he did not stalk the victims on social media
It was made very clear that they weren't stalked.
They also never mentioned the 2 survivos, because they don't want them convicted. Those 2 chick's killed them.
You mean Ethan didn't die? OR ARE YOU THAT SEXIST?
This documentary should not have been produced before a trial and final verdict was rendered, period.

And just when I thought I knew everything about this story…
Sorry for your losses. Unimaginable 🙏
Just a few seconds and things would’ve been different is so powerful.

The waiving the right to a speedy trial is actually a blessing for prosecutors. They have more time to prepare and don't have a timeline of when they have to hurry up and get their case ready. I understand these families want closure now but it's better to be fully prepared with all the facts instead of rushing to do it for trial.

I have to agree with you.
