Long time didn't seen Matthew. It is glad to know he is back to his beloved car journalist industry.
This is the car i had been waiting for since its debut in Indonesia last year. Still looking to own it when it had its 1st look a few months ago and the price was said to be 80k-90k++. However, it turned out rather really disappointed to see its full features and most importantly the price. Its smaller but its pricier than a City. How can it compete with the Ativa with that price tag in Msia? 30k-40k is a lot. I dont think Honda Malaysia is going to sustain its production to the next generation. Sadly to say....
Not worth it,
unassuming shoppers might not be aware that it sits on a 12 year old platform , last gen powertrain, incomplete safety features for lower trims,
Even worse, 2 speakers only on a 90k car
At this price point, one have to manage one finances well,
Better go for city V sensing
Or veloz, or xpander
Or spend abit more to get the base HR-V
other value options is x50 / x70
Could this car rival the Mazda CX3? it exterior is so WOW! love how nice it looks but inside the car looks outdated, at the price point of similar to Honda City, but City is so nice inside out, felt like this car was not worth for the price of RM90k.
i very loved it but problem is the rs variant priced at rm108k you can buy much better car for example omoda 5 is definitely worth it for rm108k 😊

Against Ativa😅 it should been the price been got it going against, but from here, it is confirmed, not worth it at all, with almost 20-30k price difference, better take Ativa instead.

calling this a competitor to ativa is mindblowing, why would ativa buyers consider this rather than X50 ?
But would have been nice if the 1.5 turbo is thrown in 😂, tuned it tastefully and they might have a chance to compete with Countryman which is doubled the price.

I understand 7k orders came in upon launching. I have not viewed nor driven the car (only saw outside on road) but I find it very interesting option for a 4m short, nimble, non-National SUV below 100k (easy parking, high visibility). Looks also not bad.
CX3 is 4.2m long and pricier, Mini, Jimny and Suzuki Swift are >100k.
Hi bro Matthew, irs been a while but you returned with a more Macho look than before. Thanks for the excellent review over the brand new Honda Wrv. In terms of the powertrain should be 1.5 turbo in the flagship RS variant. But overall .....there are too many competitions around for this pricing. Thanks for the full detailes of the Honda Wrv. It is never a fair competition for automobile market in Malaysia. I remember years ago many were excited about the free trade zone or something, hoping that car prices will all become on par.
Definitely overpriced for a A segment. Even my City Hybrid 2019 which is slightly cheaper has better leg rooms, head rooms and even better performance. Even my city hybrid has more speakers than this wrv. Only thing lacking will be the safety features and that's about it.
I would definitely get the X50 anytime compared to the WRV anytime when we company ringgit to ringgit value. Or if I have slight more money to spend, then I will go for the HRV.
So sad. I was really looking to get this as my first car. But the interior srsly turned me off

People are just paying for the brand....
Probably 20% of the price is just on the H badge while the rest is for the car itself. Definitely not worth the price. The highest spec is basically a toned down version from what our neighbor get.

Idk why nobody talks about the front driver and passenger seats. They're SHORT, instant buzzkill for people with long legs. The City makes a lot more sense than this car.

The rim for V variant for this model looks so shit that I even think the rim design on the lowest spec of Ativa is much better

All youtube review on WRV is not sincere. Honda bring them to Thailand for holiday. Everybody gives good review. However once launch customer has cancelled bookings . Many disappointed by its pricing and outdated interior. SEAT IS SMALL not suitable for long distance.
The same goes to Toyota Innova Zenix, 200k MPV with torsion beam... And all reviewers never mentioned about that torsion beam at all...
