- Back in 2020, I was lent the monstrous 2500cc Triumph Rocket! Sadly that same day was the day we went into COVID lockdown. How odd is it all now looking back? I had the bike for a very short time but made the most of it and made these 3 videos, now together for your viewing pleasure!

I was proud to be part of the development team on this bike ❤ooh I am officially the first man on the planet 🌍 to get 3 points and a £60 fine not the best accolade but il take it ☝️😂
Very happy to meet someone from the production side of this monster. I have the 2023 R3GT and searching for a crash bar, sliders, or whatever you call it to keep it safe. What are your design thoughts about this? Also, I wanted to know the part number you use to fill the gaps on the tail piece if you remove the backrest from the GT. Thanks a lot for designing this. Loving it every day..
Got a GT 2 weeks ago, still running in, what a bike. Comfy as hell. Pulls like nothing else on the planet. Looks big, but once you are on it, it just doesn't. Hell of a machine. Well balanced. Brilliant headlights at night. Best bike I've been on. But then the only other I rode was a Cagiva mito....30 years ago.
Edit: 6 foot tall
BMW, Honda, Ducati are all publicly traded companies. They could never justify to their shareholders a 2.5L Triple.
But Triumph are privately owned. They can make bikes like this simply because they want to.
If I should suddenly come into money then one of these is the first thing I'd buy.
I am grateful I know you are 6’4’’ as t 6’3’’ myself i am always looking for spacious bikes that fit the lager chap. TBH a lot of mc journos seem to be 5’6’’-5’8’’ - attracts the shorties for some reason!
I'm with you 100% on this. Why are 99% of bikes made for shorties?
@@MrQuakeroat Probably because the majority of people aren't giants.
At 6' 3" myself, I found all the modern bikes feel too cramped, especially as my legs don't bend as well as they used to, so I've stuck to older machines, with more traditional riding positions (1978 Triumph Bonneville and 1980 Suzuki GS550).
Great summary of a magnificent bike! I have had the TFC variant for 4 years and it has been an about blast. The Quickshifter is as smooth as silk. A masterpiece in motorcycle engineering.
2024 is the 20th anniversary of the Rocket, I will be attending Rocketdays in Germany to celebrate the occasion.
I have a 2020 Rocket GT bought it used with only 1800km on it so practicly new had it for 2 years now i installed a quickshifter on it and it make a big difference when you want to pull hard from a green light signal i suprise alot of motorcycles who didnt think the Rocket was so powerful and fast , its a head turner for sure i made a lot of friends with this bike peoples come up to me asking questions or simply to take a picture of it because its rare im my region of the world to see this kind of bike on the road , so yeah its a keeper for me. Ride safe mate.
I've heard about the clutch. If pressed with ECU flash, it might wear out sooner than imagined.
I think this thing could spin the planet in the opposite direction if you give it all it has.
Kind of hard to believe we all abided by the whole lockdown thing now. Mega bike though, I’m also 6’4 so I appreciate seeing you ride this, as I’ve never to this day managed to even sit on one.
I've just got my CBT 2500cc sounds ungodly to me 😂
Me too 😂 I was just thinking that this bike has 20x the displacement of my Honda cb125 😂 But somehow does 48mpg.
@@ChrisGPSThat's probably because you don't dare open the throttle.
Thanks for another great review! I was wondering, how would you compare this bike to the BMW R18? How is the manoeuvrability, how flickable is one compared to the other? I’ve tested them both and I loved how the BMW doesn’t give sooo much heat when commuting with it. However it felt like I wouldn’t scrape the footpegs on the Rocket. I’d appreciate any input on that comparison! Cheers, and looking forward to your next content.
My R18 review is here. ruclips.net/video/rxDnv9QfWbs/видео.html What I think I can say from memory is the Rocket is much more sporty in the feel and handling.
So your 6'4, I'm 5'10 and I stood next to someone that was 6'4 and I remember thinking that your not that tall 😂😂
That thing looks soo cool and awesome to ride, bet it eats motorways for breakfast, rear seat looks tiny but I guess Rina, Rino!? is also!? 🤷♂️
HAHA Damn this motorbike has almost double the CC then my car :P
Such a cool bike. I think the only real let down is the dash, looks dated.
My trophy 4 felt like a monkey bike after a few days on one of them.
Quick shifter is a fantastic option despite what he's saying!
As I said its a personal taste thing.
Was that a rat at 10:42?
Bird flying overhead shadow.
Ah that makes sense.
Was in my local Triumph dealership a couple of week ago looking at the Trident, but might go for a pre-owned over new 🤷♂️ Saw Rocket 3 and looks beastly.
Not sure I'm subscribed, will do that now 👌
Ha it did look a bit like that at a quick glance lol
I tire ore sports bikes guys testing the Rocket and constantly harping on how big it is. It is a CRUISER and for a cruiser it would be considered a middle weight at most. Judge it by what it is.
I'm not a sports bike guy.
Then why harp on the Rocket's weight? For a cruiser it certainly is not a giant, In fact I would say its towards the lower end. @@spicy110
Wait are you from the USA?
I am. @@spicy110
Yer that makes so much more sense now. 2 things, 1. we call large cc bikes "big" 2. We do not get many of the massive cruisers here so in comparison it is a large machine.
