Inspirational! I subscribed. 72 years in June, 23' GS rider. Tidewater region of Virginia USA. Still working 40hr+ per week and caregiver to my wife who suffered a stroke in 2018 and has a host of maladys. I can not get away on long rides but very happy to commute to work and get a few hour ride now and then. Keep looking up !
Wow Denny, YOU'RE the inspirational one!! 🥰
I am age 69. I ride a 2015 Triumph Rocket III. Buying a 2024 Rocket because it has cruise control and navigation. I live in Southern California and rode all over the United States. Just returned from a ride to Florida ( 6,000 round trip). I LOVE my Rocket. I am 6'2 220 Lbs. This bike have the power and torque to get out of bad situations. If you are a timid and weak man, this bike may be too much for you. This is a MAN'S MOTORCYCLE. Be different. Be unique. Ride a Triumph Rocket Storm GT III.
😆 Thanks for letting me know where you're from 🤗 Yeah, can't see me ever moving away from the Rocket 👍🏼
Absolutely inspirational. My wife had skin cancer a number of years back, it really makes you focus on the things that are important in life. We have done Canada (highly recommended), South Africa (with BMW world, recommended) and some of Europe. Keep doing the trips mate and stay safe. Love the Rocket, I have a Ducati Multi v4s, for trips, Triumph 765 RS, for fun and an Ariel Ace Black Edition, for the hell of it
Thanks for all that, wow some lovely travels (and vehicles!) 🤗
22 minutes flew by! You’re a great storyteller Brian. Enjoy the next adventures.
Thanks very much Timmo, kind of you to say ☺️👍🏼
Your story is amazing! I love Rocket triumph... I dream riding it one Day. Thanks
Firstly I wrote that in one and half year I rode 38000km, as employed man. But then I heard your strong lifestory. I only want to wish strong health to you!
Thank you very much and good health to you also.☺
I raise a glass to you Brian 🍻 Keep living life and creating fantastic memories ! The Rocket 3 is pretty unique and a fine looking bike.
Thank you Nick
Nice video... thank you from socal, southern California... Dave, 65, New rider, 650 versys
Thanks for that Dave and for letting me know where you're from 🤗
Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I bought a Rocket 3 GT just recently and I can really understand how you racked up so many miles in a year.
Thanks James 🤗
What a lovely motorbike to tour on. It is certainly more interesting than the typical GS.
😆
Thank you so much for sharing your story!! I average about 15,000 miles per year on my bike and it is amazing how therapeutic and healing it is!! Praying for a speedy and thorough recovery!!
Thank you Brian for your kind words 🤗
"Well, if I'm going to Suffolk. I might as well go into Scandinavia. "
🤣🤣🤣
Hats off!!! You sir are a trooper!
Life has to be worth living.
😂👍🏼
I'm 73, have an r1250rs and done a bit of touring but clearly not enough. This is very inspiring, I hope you're soon back to full health (life's too short)
Thanks Dave, absolutely! I've always liked the RS and must admit to being tempted by one however I'm finding the cruiser position kinder on my hips 😆 As we get older sometimes our ageing bodies have a say in what we ride 😆
Very inspiring, thank you! From British Columbia, Canada.
Thank you, and for saying where you're from! 🤗
Wishing you the very best of health Brian 😊
Over 82,000 miles on my 2020 GT. Lucky I live in an area where we can ride all year long and so far I am healthy enough to put on the miles. Very inspirational story you have. Great stuff.
OMG 82,000?!! 😱 You should tell Triumph! Where do you live?
@@BriKinsella Arizona, USA. When this one wears out I will be getting another Rocket btw. Thanks again for telling your story.
Great story, good luck for the future, look forward to your next post
Thanks Graham 🤗
Respect!
Impressed!
Thanks, Brian !
Thanks for sharing that.
Wow, I think you deserve the medal mate what a brilliant brilliant story getting up and getting out there…. Thank you so much
Thank you John for your kind comments
Hope you get well soon! All the best.
Thanks Michael 👍🏼
Great video, I imagine the Rocket and all that touring must hit the bank account! Worth every penny though, no use for cash in the afterlife!
Absolutely right Noel!
Thanks . I am a 74 yo retired GP. CFB1000, . Norton Dominator in my teens , pre compulsory helmet era !
I have only done one longish trip to Portugal some years ago. My wife has had CVA's and care cost for 2 carers three time a day very expensive . I don't know if I will ever do any more long motorcycle trips . But hope springs eternal. My third great grand child due in May.
Regards
Thanks for watching and commenting, best wishes to you for the future 🤞🏼☺
Impressive. Lovely bike and always so clean. Ride safe.
Brian, you’re an inspiration for me to travel more. You’ve had some tough times but chose to explore life.
Thanks so much for you comment and it pleases me to read that you may travel more ☺
This is the best story ever told on RUclips. Wow!!
Heck that is praise indeed! Thank you 😊
Hi Brian, what amazing journeys you have been on with the Rocket 3 and what an inspiration you are! I wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to watching your next adventure. Ps I am looking at buying a rocket 3 - One question - How many rear tyres have you gone through and what did they cost?
Thank you for that 🤗 Tyre wear has been so surprisingly insignificant that I probably can’t give you accurate details other than it’s just had its third new front at 24,000 miles (about £250 fitted) and it’s still on its second (I think) rear, albeit due a change soon. But even if it’s the third rear then over 8,000 miles per tyre is probably unexpected. Having said that I use it for touring not for ripping it up from traffic lights, but I do use its acceleration when the mood takes me. I have been taken aback by the lack of tyre wear. 👍🏼
@@BriKinsella Thanks Brian, decent tyre wear then that’s very useful feedback to my deliberations.
They are awesome looking bikes, got my eye on the chrome edition in red!
All the best
I would love to do this. I've just bought a 22 rocket 3gt. Used to live in Norway and would love to ride the bike there, I know the roads are beautiful for riding even for the low speed limits. But then you can take in the breath taking scenary. Miss the direct ferry from Newcastle to Kristiansand.
Thanks Dave, yeah it's a bit of a hike to ride from Holland but still worth it! 🤗
@BriKinsella I found out yesterday that a ferry company has announced that they will be starting new services to Bergen and Stavanger from North Shields ferry terminal in 2026. Can't wait.
@@davelawson3097 That would be brilliant!
Many thanks for sharing your story. I wish you many more years of adventures. BtB
Thanks Bib 🤗
Really liked the video. I live in the south of Norway. Got inspired to travel to the highest north. I wish you well on the cancer. Looking forward to a new video.
Only just seen your comment! Sorry but thank you ☺️
Thank you for sharing your story. It's inspiring. Cheers to many more wonderful miles for you.
Very good! Glad to see your enjoying life.
I’m 75 and have been on a BMW 1200GS for the last 14 years. The bike has nearly 100,000 miles on it. I have a Husqvarna 701 also but it along with the BMW they have become a handful due to the height and weight of them. I bought a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 2 months ago that I’m slowly turning into a scrambler. Not real light but the low eat allows me to throw a leg over it easily. I don’t have cancer but I have a host of other problems. I rode the BMW with my wife on the back to Inuvik Northwest Territories, Canada (way north on the Arctic circle) when I was 70 and wive was 72, so glad I did it then as it’s doubtful I could do it now.
Wow thanks for that 🤗 Brilliant that you're still doing it, that's an inspiration to us relative youngsters! 😆👍🏼
Amazing, Brian. I'm having my Tiger serviced at Youles this week. I hope they have a Rocket GT in stock 😊
Thank you for sharing your story. Thoroughly inspiring
Thanks for you kind comment Marc 🤗
What a great story I’m sure your wife was with you every mile.
Take care and stay safe looking forward to your next adventure 😊
Thanks for your kind comments Steve
Your the one who deserves a medal mate , good luck to you fella. 👍
Thanks, very kind of you 🙂
@@BriKinsella your welcome mate
Huge respect to you. I to love motorbikes and the freedom and passion that travel provides at home in the uk and abroad. The story you tell is heartfelt and true. I am a cancer survivor of ten years now. I was 60 last June and have just bought myself a new v100 mandello s. Two friends are coming with me on a journey around the arctic circle in June. Love you bike, good luck with your treatment, I look forward to another story from you soon. Regards Stuart.
Wow thanks Stuart, it's cancer survivors like you that give us newbies hope! Love the fact you're a fellow biker enjoying life with your mates on the bikes 🤗 Good health to you in the future, next vid shouldn't be too far away 👍🏼
You certainly picked the right bike to do that sort of trip on, well done. Good luck on your next adventure and keep riding.
Thank Robert! 🤗
Keep up the great work, excellent trips and narration, health to enjoy your next one, keep that rocket moving ❤

All the best to you for your future & health, thanks for sharing ! Great to see the other side of the world from the seat of a rocket!! from Sydney Australia x ✨🏍️🌅

Super proud of you. Wishing you safe travels as you get back on the Rocket again

As a native of the northern lights, I can relate to the feeling of perpetual sunlight.
Super video, excellent storytelling.... and a whopper of a bike!
Best wishes, happy trails!
Thank you so much!
You’ve inspired me Brian! Thanks for sharing your journey
Thank you Stu 👍🏼
Very inspirational. I’m getting ready to retire in 1 week! Life is too short to just work and we never know when the end of our rope will appear. I too have battled cancer (2010) and then a gallbladder attack in 2011. Been healthy ever since…even through COVID. Now, it’s time to ride!!! Be safe and live life to the fullest!!! 😊
So sorry for not seeing this comment earlier, but thank you very much! ☺️ I hope you have a great future!
Brilliant photography, thanks for sharing your story and your journeys with us.
Thanks Peter 🤗
Great story thanks.
I’ve never subscribed to a channel as fast as I did to yours. You’re a huge inspiration, the way you’re telling your story really motivates people to just go out there and live life to the fullest. Wish you many long trips ahead, keep enjoying and sharing your experiences with us 💪🏼 Cheers from a fellow motorcycle rider from Macedonia 🍻
OMG I can't believe how the last few years of my life can impact people in such a way! YOU inspire ME! Thank you also for telling me where you're from 🤗
Parabéns! Total respeito por seus feitos!
It's a spectacular documentary.
Thank you! 🤗
Great story of your travels which gives much inspiration for my own tours. I only passed my test in October, my first bike a Honda VFR800 VTEC which I still own, but I've just bought a new Honda Africa Twin AS which I plan to tour on. The Rocket is high on the list too...
Thanks for your comments 🤗
Amazing story, life, travels, pictures and bike! I've done 25 states on my Honda GoldWing and my wife always says "why do you always take pictures of your bike?". Strength to you as I'm also a cancer survivor! Doing a 12 day trip in Nepal in October with an outfit - will be riding Royal Enfields of course.
Thank you so much Amir! It makes me smile when you say about taking photos of the bike. When I used to tour in my early 20s I used to show photos of my holidays to my parents, my mum said “it’s just the bike here, the bike there” 😂 Trip to Nepal?! ❤ I must admit that I have a few ‘grand tour’ ideas in the pipeline. Your Nepal trip is something that’s sparked my interest but it’ll have to wait for me as I have other plans at the moment. It’ll be amazing! So many places yet so little time. Good health to you in the future 😊
That was a really enjoyable presentation. Best wishes for a full recovery, and I will be looking forward to seeing more of your adventures .
Thanks Martyn 🤗
Wonderful Brian, truly wonderful! I’ve watched and re watched and can’t stop sobbing. I’m supposed to be a roughie toughie. 🙄
My wife and I love adventures and travelling but unfortunately she now has secondary cancer. Makes me realise, best get things done whilst we can. Thank you my friend and good luck in your recovery. 😊🏍️
Thank you so much Don for your kind words. I’m sorry to hear about your dear wife and hope things can go as well as possible for you both 🤞🏼
Beautiful story! So heartwarming and inspiring! Please continue to travel and share. God bless you.
Thank you!
Good for you 👍 live life enjoy life here today gone today 😊
What a lovely story, thank you for sharing it. You must have qualified for the “ iron butt “ award. You have my utmost respect, good health to you, you deserve it.
😆Thank you so much Andrew
Retired just a few months ago. Had bikes all my life. Have two atm one of them is a Triumph Thunderbird 900. But the Rocket3 has been at the back of my mind for a long time especially after been invited for a VIP factory tour some time ago in Hinkley and saw these monsters being manufactured with great precision. I think it’s time a get one of them in my stable.
Very nice. The dealer looks like Youles. I had a couple of bad experiences with them. Like most things, it's all peachy until there is an issue, then you find out what they are like. Hope you don't experience this.
Thanks for that, yeah it's Youles, and you can only treat as you find. So far they've been excellent with me, long may that continue 🤞🏼👍🏼
You were both inspirational and aspirational. Kudos to a wonderful travel Vlog and sharing your journey both personally and on your motorcycle.
Thank you for you kind words William ☺
Very inspirational. Your story really spoke to me. Your trip is the stuff of legend and a time where a man could really find his true self....and what he is made of.
Thank you for your kind comments Doug! 🙂

I love your courage and sense of adventure. Best of luck with your health. I will be looking forward to upcoming videos. Regards, Bob Bosco.
Thank you Bob, very kind words ☺
A sad story but you got on with life. Good for you. Life’s too short to put off doing this kind of thing. I’m doing a 4,000 mile ride in May in the US with an old buddy who moved with his family 23 years ago. We figured just do it. I’m retired and he’s taken a month off. People ask why and the answer is: because we still can! Ok, and we’ve been talking about it for years….. Take care, Ian
Thanks for that Ian, I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip! 🤗
Hey Brian, what a machine. It would interesting to hear how the bike did on your adventures? Any mechanical issues, tire wear… Does your bike have cruise control? It’s invaluable in speed restricted situations.
Hi Clay, email me and I’ll answer all your questions (email address on my YT page) 👍🏼
thank you for the video! I wish you great and long journeys!
Thank you Kirill ☺
Nice one Brian, a good story well told.
I stuck to the end partly due to your matter of fact way in presenting your story, no hyperbole just with a stolidly calm disposition. It's surprising to me that I held on because I usually can't abide other people's holiday tales, I even flick past them in bike magazines, it's always about fantastic this, best ever that, lost my heart to... xyz! It grates.
And also because I lost my wife of 40 years to cancer as we were just on the cusp of our 60's. So we never got to open that oft-dreamed of door to retirement together. Good to hear that you both had yours 👍🏻
Best wishes on your recovery and godspeed on your future rides on the Rocket. I do annual trips on the bike across Europe and that's been more than good enough for me. We all have our adventures, best to enjoy them, I say, while we're still able 👍🏻
Wow, thank you so much for your kind comments and for sticking it to the end! I thought 22 minutes was far too long for a YT vid and I’m a complete novice at it but have been surprised at the response 😮 Losing your wife after 40 years 😢 no words …… 😔 So glad you’re doing the bike tours 🤗👍🏼💪🏼
@@BriKinsella Thank you Brian, keep at it matey and shiny side up 👍🏻
Thanks Brian. Great story . I’m also an aged biker who can’t get enough. I’m always interested in where and how other bikers of our vintage go about our obsession. All the best with your recovery and hope your back travelling with your mates soon 👍
Sorry for not seeing this comment earlier David! 🙄 Lovely to hear from a fellow 'vintage' biker! 😆👍🏼
Fabulous photos, scandanavia looks amazing. And that triumph rocket is 😍
I take my hat off to you sir, you actually did what we all think we might do, given such circumstances- a I life being lived. Thank you for sharing.
Great story and good luck continuing your travels.
What a tremendous year of travels and recovery...thank you 🙂
Excellent video, Brian. Like many others have said, inspirational ! You've got me thinking about dusting down my bucket list from about 16 years ago where one of the main things on it was to ride to the top of Norway on my motorbike.
Due to the time it takes to do justice to a journey like that, it wasn't going to happen for me until I could get closer to retirement, then in 2012 I had some health challenges of my own which eventually forced me to give up biking in 2017.
I couldn't face seeing my small collection of bikes sitting in the garage so I sold them all. They were special to me, because I had made them my own with self made modifications/improvements over many years, It wasn't an easy decision to make. Having been riding motorbikes since I was 8 years old, and I found it so difficult to come to terms with not being able to ride. All my socialising, centred around riding bikes and as i'm sure you will know as a fellow biker, riding is so good for ones mental health.
I became somewhat closed down, but focussed on other hobbies and interest trying to look forward and not backward.........Then, in mid 2022, I felt my health problem had become slightly improved, (which wasn't expected) and by Christmas 2022 I bought my current bike, a 2020 Rocket 3R, (with GT bars & comfort seat). It has given me back my mojo. I feel alive again!
Seeing your video and listening to your story has reminded me to make the most of life while you can.
I'm planning to retire next year, so maybe I will be able to do my bucket list ride after all. I will have to build myself up to it though. Are you planning to come down to the 20th Anniversary Triumph Rocket meet on the 15th of June this year? If so, it would be great to meet you in person.
Wishing you good health, David
Wow thanks David, that's an amazing story and I wish you good health in the future and the ability to realise your dreams! I didn't know about that Rocket meet, thanks for mentioning it! I think I may be in England during that time so will look at the chances of going. Yes it would be great to meet up, I take my hat off to you!
@@BriKinsella Social media such as RUclips has the potential to inspire/educate and connect people for very positive reasons. Thanks again for lifting my head up to the horizon 👍

Great video Brian and the best of luck. The Rocket looks like a fantastic bike and I may well end up with one after my current bike.
Great trips and memories to share. Best wishes for more in the future. I have to say my best memories in life tend to be from trips on my various motorcycles over the years. There’s nothing to match that feeling of swinging your leg over your bike and heading off down the open road 👍
Thanks for that and yeah it's great when we can find something that gives us that feeling! 🤗
Thanks Brian, I really enjoyed your travel exploits. I don't have money or retirement on my side, but I really enjoy travelers taking me along with them. Here's hoping you get the Rocket pointed towards more adventures soon.

Thank you for sharing, hope you are recovering well.
Some great trips there.
I had the privilege of riding in Mainland Europe for a few years when I got back into motorbikes after 37 years in 2020, buying a CRF250 Rally, which after its first service, I took it out to Groningen with me and one month after it was stolen.
Next bike was a triumph tiger 900 rally pro, which I took to Munich and back twice, also Odense in Denmark and back twice.
I also did a non-stop journey back from both places, both around 800+ miles, 15 hours from Munich and 19 hours from Odense.
I am now back in the uk and have swapped the tiger for a speedmaster (well i only have little legs so it’s nice to be able to flat foot).
I am considering doing an Iron Butt challenge ride for charity this year (nothing set up yet) so if you fancy joining a 1000 mile within 24 hours in the UK later in the year, get in touch.
Nice bike by the way, never ridden one yet, because I know I couldn’t afford it if I wanted it 🤣
Thanks for that and taking the time to comment, that's some serious riding you've done (and are planning on doing)! Thanks for the offer of 1,000 miles in 24 hours but although I'm easily led I know that my body is not yet up to such a challenge! Whether it will be in the future I'm not sure but a great thing to do for charity! 🤗
Awesome! Incredibly inspirational and sincerest condolences and congratulations in one!
Aaaw thanks 🤗
Wow, just Wow!

Thank you so much ☺️
This is awesome! I just purchased this same bike and have loved. I have a 4,000 mile trip planned and was trying to figure out out to strap on all my gear. I saw the photo of your bike fully loaded. I'd love to know how your got that all secured to the back.
Thanks 😊, TheRocket, the Beemer & the Boxster video gives an insight but I bought some Kriega throw over panniers, nylon tied them together and they fit perfectly over the backrest sitting on the seat and rack. I have Litelocks which wrap round between them but the panniers DO need securing with straps. I also added a small Kriega bag to the top. When I travelled to The Canaries in winter I had all my summer and winter bike gear with me including spare (open face) helmet & boots. The arrangement obviously isn’t as convenient as a big touring bike with proper panniers etc (hence the K, which has since been sold & the 2 bikes changed for a Storm) but it works (for me 🤗). Good luck with your trip, it’ll be awesome wherever you’re going? 🤗🌏
What incredible adventures you have had, quite inspiring Brian. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind comment Anthony ☺
Hello; good photos and editing. If I may ask; where did you changed the oil and tyres? Thanks
I just take it back to the dealer, for two reasons. 1. Changing tyres these days on such a bike is fraught with pain and I'd rather pay the extra for a professional to do it. 2. The dealership I bought the bike from comes with a lifetime guarantee on the bike, but the condition is you get it serviced there.
@@BriKinsella Yes; of course about the hassles. I meant about what happened (seems not) if you needed the changes in the trips. Happened to me. In the bike that I am using right now (Triumph thruxton R with fairing etc) the tyres wear very quickly (due to the grip) and the possibilities to change in the middle of a long trip is there (due to the lost of grip-I ride in this bike between 120-160km/h with some 180km/h) and always a pain due to no get the right tyre model; etc. I make the oil changes but sometimes you need to do it in the trip so I needed to do another one before start the trip...
@@TheReverb1 OMG mate, I obviously don't ride as hard as you! The Rocket has been amazing with the lack of tread wear and with a 10k service interval, providing I plan correctly it's never been an issue mid trip. The Thruxton is awesome 🤗
Great video. I think it is important to do things you want too, as you get older, before you are too old or something happens.
Absolutely Hugh! I’ve learnt so much over the last 4 years!
You Sir are an absolute legend !!
Steady on there Tim but thank you ☺
Amazing. God Bless, Love from India ❤
Thank you 🙂
Bloody Brilliant, so informative.
Aaw thanks Brad! 👍🏼
I will assume the Rocket is great for touring, but more importantly comfortable to ride i.e. riding position, seat fell, riding fatigue etc. Could you describe those a bit. I’m interested in getting one for longer trips with my wife.
Hi Alex, I'm not sure how good it would be for a pillion, maybe, but I can only give a rider's perspective. For me it's the most comfortable bike I've ridden but then have never ridden a Goldwing! 😆 It's the first cruiser I've had and the feet forward position I find very comfortable. I had a Harley Davidson Breakout but that is quite radical and doesn't compare at all to this. I found the BMW GS's comfortable but yet again the Rocket is more so. I did 25,000 miles on it and then changed it for the new Storm edition so that must say something. I've found what works for me but the only way for you to find out is really to try one, enjoy the experience. 🤗
@@BriKinsella thank you for the reply. Very nice video. Looking forward to more motorcycle riding videos.
Truly inspirational - let us know how you choose accommodation along the way.
Thanks for your kind comments Gordon. 95% of my bookings are through Booking.com which generally gives the option of late cancellation without charge (not that I've used that but it's a safety net). I've found what works for me so will stick with it. I just winged the most of the Scandinavia trip either booking on the day I was due to arrive or just turning up at a hotel to see if they had a room, it adds a bit of spice doing it that way but wouldn't be a comfortable way for everyone.
Superb video , very interesting
Thanks Mark 🙂
