I really think they are going to struggle to find anyone in NY who hasn’t been harmed by the healthcare system. Jury nullification is 100% legal. They can’t charge you for refusing to convict him. They can only charge you for lying during the jury selection process or posting while in trial. I seriously doubt the prosecution is going to be able to find 12 jurors who don’t sympathize with this man. It only takes one juror to refuse to convict.

Convicts actually sometimes have very high morals, and that’s why they get locked up, they see something wrong and they do something about it. Just like Luigi did.

I think the idea being he didbt have tine to get any $ on his books for ice cream tickets. This is a specific old style bars prison in PA. The barbers are lifers and Black men (a heritage of which they are proud). But they cut all day; like you said they HAVE to give you a cut its a hygiene thing. But without currency you get a fast crappy buzz. Nothings in it for them to waste extra time on you. Even the guards want them to keep it moving. That taking the time to thread some white kids eyebrows and give him such a tight fade isnt a message to the media but to the guards - Luigi has a big family but not even his mom has visited. The message is just that he isnt an isolated punk to be victimized; at least 1 lifer is showing that the inmate population is ok with Luigi he has some "friends", ostensibly because of respect for his crime. But its nothing dramatic, it doesnt mean he is important or seen as a hero in gen pop, its just that he is otherwise really young and pretty and didnt cone up hard, so if he was in there for another crime (not even anything thatd make him a target but just something normal like drugs) he might be an easy target for predatory inmates and/or guard beatdown. So this is just like, nah this one is ok. Its not even necessarily a "message" in the sense of intentional its just the kind of subtle communication that happens around us every day.

He’s not an idiot. Someone was bound to snap at some point and he’s clearly been in a ton of pain. He also clearly cares about innocent people. CEO guy had blood on his hands, so I’d think about this one more before saying that Luigi is in the wrong. Every criminal has a family lol, doesn’t make them a good person.
